My entree was wonderful, but 2 others in our group of 6 described their entree's as "okay". My wife had the seabass special. The fish was perfect but the gnocchi was "just okay". Another person had the short rib which was presented perfectly. The meat was tender but he said it was extremely salty. Everyone else really enjoyed their food. It was crowded but they found a table for us outside. We were in the sidewalk dealing with foot traffic and cars but it was fine. Our server was extremely attentive and very helpful. I recommend giving this place a try.

Great meal and great service from Avery at the bar! We came for dinner without a reservation the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend. Even though reservations were plentiful during the day, by the time we arrived for an early dinner, the only availability was at the bar. While this might not seem like the best spot in the house, it ended up being great because we had a view of the pasta making station, which was active for the entirety of our visit. The menu was huge and just about everything sounded good, so of course picking what I wanted was not easy. I ended up going with the Lamb parpardelle, which was a nice large portion and quite delicious. Loved the handmade pasta. My mom got the braised short ribs and was very happy with her meal. They had a great wine selection and cocktail menu with specialty drinks, classics, and spritzes. I ended up with a glass of wine that would pair well with my dinner, though it was so good that it was hard to make it last all the way until the meal came out. Would definitely come back here, and hope to so that I can try some of the other dishes that looked and sounded so good!

I'm back!! I love this place and always make a point to come here every time I'm in Pacific Grove. I just love the vibe. Make sure to make reservations because there's always a line. I feel like the menu has changed and the food got even better. Jordan was our server. He was wonderful. He was polite and always checked on us. There was a hiccup with my cocktail and he followed up on it with me. He was dismayed that the person who served our cocktails didn't inform me that they ran out of one of the key ingredients. So I ordered a different cocktail. This time, it took a long time to arrive but Jordan stayed on top of it and apologized. The food here is excellent! The salads are really good. Not your regular bagged salad. The pastas are AMAZING! So full of flavor. I was wowed! There was a mixup with my salad, but Jordan took care of it immediately. We ordered: * Viola - Delicate, light but strong! * Fried Artichoke - So yummy! Not greasy. Love the 3 sauces. * Orange & Beet Salad - lightly dressed. Tangy and sweet. Well-balanced * Caesar Salad - Love how this was plated, with spears of romaine heart leaves * Spicy Black Fettuccine Scampi - wish I was able to try this but I'm allergic to shellfish. Considering my son's place was clean, I'd say it probably was delicious. * Lamb Pappardelle - hubby's order. He cleaned his plate too. * Lasagna Romana - huge serving! If you want cheesy and comforting, this is it. I shared this with my daughter. It was so good! Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. I wish they had bread on the side to sop up all the amazing sauces left on the plates. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu. Incredible! Delicious! Spectacular! I love that it had coffee at the bottom of my cup! Tells you it's homemade vs premade frozen. It was top-notch!

This was favored by my older son. The chicken had a nice, grilled flavor.

We chose this place on the recommendation of a former resident. We weren't disappointed! It starts off with the very friendly service. We were given good advice to spend our money on another pasta dish than on an appetizer, given we were a family of four hungry people. The homemade pasta made such a difference! Each of us had our favorite, though we liked everything. I enjoyed the carbonara, the consistency of the noodles was something I'd never really had, it was marvelous. My younger son selected the cacio e pepe, enjoying the tasty mushroom and sausage dish. The older boy selected the orecchiette, besides a good pasta the chicken had a grilled flavor that stood out. My wife favored the rigatoni, which featured a really good rago sauce. Keeping in mind it's all homemade fare, the price is justified. The portions don't look overwhelmingly huge, yet none of us complained about being hungry when we were done. I definitely will try one of their seafood dishes on our return visit.

Located in Pacific Grove. Great Italian food in Monterey County. Parking was relatively easy to find... there is plenty of street parking. When you enter, you may see them making fresh pasta or gnocchi in the front. All pasta is handmade here. Service was great; we sat in a private little nook area. We had a digestif flight(for hubby), AGNOLOTTI ALLA NONNA pasta, and a Caesar salad. Food was absolutely amazing. Salad was fresh with in house Caesar dressing (made traditionally with anchovies). I can see why this restaurant is voted Best Italian in Monterey Bay... their handmade pasta was phenomenal. There is a clear distinct difference between the pasta served in Canary Row vs. this restaurant. Will come back! Service was excellent. We felt very welcomed here.

I have to be very honest in this review. Ever since I took my niece to dinner at this restaurant I have been thinking about it. I need to go back. The ambience is amazing. The restaurant is actually quite stunning the little details of every chair at the table being different made you feel like you were coming to dinner at a friends very well decorated friends home (with a view) the fixtures and textures were absolutely worth mentioning The service was out of this world. Avery helped us. His service was top-tier. It definitely matched the ambience and the food. Unforgettable. Now for the food, oh my goodness the food we started with a garlic cheesy bread and the burrata appetizer. You can absolutely tell that this bread is baked fresh in house daily and was delicious the burrata appetizer mouthwatering ,fresh & crisp just wonderful. The balsamic made me crave for more. It just was really that good. But now for the absolute star of the show the vodka pasta. Life-changing. I've been thinking about it for the last two weeks and I need to go back. I made a date with my mom next weekend to take her. I already know what I'll be having. I know I know we should all try something new but let me tell you it was that phenomenal. You can literally watch them making the pasta right there in the front window. It's all in the details here. Thank you for the wonderful staff for treating my beautiful niece and I to a wonderful evening. You have made a customers for life. Honestly I'm mad I haven't found this place earlier. I will definitely definitely be back

Had a wonderful lunch here with my family during our visit to the aquarium. We picked this place for the short walk and food options. We arrived prior to them opening and were seated a little before opening time. Staff were very nice and brought water and menus. Decor was rustic but nice. Items ordered- Beet salad- Loved the taste and light dressing! Perfectly balanced! Bread service- Bread was fresh and good. The EVOO dip was delicious! Cheesy garlic bread- too much cheese for me but kiddo enjoyed it Berries & burrata salad- Hubby loved this! Cup of chowder x2- Yummy chowder with plenty of veggies & clams Saffron seafood pasta- Lots of seafood and just ok to me. Not a fan of the pasta size Spicy black fettuccine pasta- Loads of shrimp and not spicy

Great Italian spot in Pacific Grove, very close to Monterey. We came in with a same day reservation on a Friday evening during Mother's Day weekend. It was quite busy, but we were seated right away. Very cute restaurant, intimate. To the right of the host, you can watch them make their fresh pasta. We started with the beet salad. Delicious. The citrus dressing really brightened up the greens. For entrees, we both ordered pastas. The portions are huge! We took home half, which was perfect for lunch the next day. We ordered the cacio e pepe and the carbonara. Both were delicious. I think I liked the cario e pepe a little more than the carbonara. Will return when we're back in the Monterey area.

Shakira M.

In town visiting friends and they took me to this Italian spot. I already knew it was going to be great as there was a line of people waiting to be seated. As you walk inside, there are guys making fresh pasta. Very rustic and quaint atmosphere had me feeling that I was in the home of family. Service was outstanding and they were very attentive. We ordered the Italian ceaser salad and Crab Arancini for starters. I loved that the ceaser salad was romaine heads and the crab arancini was amazing especially the sauce! For my main course, I got the Chicken Cacio E Pepe. OMG, so delicious. I can't even begin to explain the flavor bursting from the chicken thighs. This place was a 10/10 experience and definitely worth an out of town visit!

the octopus was probably the best dish, and that was alright. we got the carbonara and idk something was missing. lots of cheese but needed more garlic and pepper. and rigatoni red pastas were much better. the staff members were so incredibly and generous though. offered blankets and kept checking up on us outside seating

Tonnarelli Carbonara with the poached egg already broken by me.
Daniel S.

The Tonnarelli Carbonara was good, just good. I think it needed more cheese melded into the yolk dressing preparation. The tiramisu was tasty! ...for what it was. But I like my tiramisu to have a strong coffee presence and here, that was completely overwhelmed.

A family stable whenever we come to Monterey. The food and service here never disappoint. There's a lot of parking spaces and online reservation helps skip the wait time.

Been here a couple times now, and each time I left really happy with the experience. The food is good, and I leave stuffed. Absolutely filled to the gills with food. We've tried numerous pastas, salads, mains, and sides, and most of them were thought of highly by our party. The people working here are great, and we found some new wine we liked as a result of their helpfulness. They also have live music on certain nights, adding to the vibes. I'll keep coming back.

From the food to the drinks to the overall chic and comfortable ambiance, it was an absolute treat! The service was impeccable for our party of 8. We had various tequila drinks and the chips, salsa, hot sauces (some quite hot!) made for an exceptional start. I ordered the salmon, which was sitting on a bed of cauliflower mashed potatoes and draped with an arugula salad, topped with a mache chili oil drizzle. The taste was as perfect as the presentation! The best salmon I've ever had, indeed. One of the guest had birria tacos served with a split bone marrow! Never saw that combination before! He let me try some and it was delicious! If you're an Amex Platinum cardholder looking to burn Resy credits in Monterey, this Mexican restaurant is worth a try -- but manage your expectations. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which was a plus. Started with chips and guac and a couple of drinks, then ordered the chicken enchiladas and the skirt steak and arugula salad, adding shrimp to the salad. The food was fine, the atmosphere was fine, the service was fine -- nothing memorable, nothing bad. The real issue is price. Adding shrimp to a salad cost about $15, and our total with tip came out to around $140 for two people. For that price point in Monterey, I expected more from the food and overall experience. Would I come back? Probably not at full price. But if you have the Amex Platinum and quarterly Resy dining credits to use, it softens the blow enough to make it worth trying once.

I'm from Reno and we don't have any good British pubs so when going out of town I always look to see if there's a good looking one where we will be going. I saw this place on Yelp and the first thing I noticed was how legit the fish and chips looked. Once I saw that you can get sides of mushy peas or curry sauce, I knew we had to check it out (this is how you would order fish n chips in the UK!) Stopped by on a Friday evening, it was definitely busy but we got lucky and got seated right away. The live band outside was a nice touch. Now I will say, the menu here is fairly small, with only a few British items. But the items they do have are very authentic and I was primarily going for the fish n chips anyway. Great big pieces of cod, batter was beautifully fluffy. The chips are perfectly thick cut. My only very very minor complaint is that I do wish the curry sauce was a little thicker and less spicy, more like a traditional chip shop curry sauce but that's just my preference. I still love that it's even offered! My husband had the BBC (bangers, beans and chips) and he loved it. I tried a bit of his banger and it was really good. Nice thick pork sausage. They had a good looking beer selection, I will have to try some on a future visit when I'm not pregnant! I was really really pleased with my meal here. Please add some bangers and mash though! Those bangers are delicious.

When it was my turn, the employee subjected my ID to significantly more scrutiny. She rubbed the card, examined it closely, and even used a small table lamp to inspect it. She then asked me to state the address on my ID. I had recently moved and had just received a new ID, so I wasn't certain which address was printed on it. I explained that I had recently moved and had multiple addresses. She then told our group to leave. I understand that a bar has the right to thoroughly check IDs and refuse entry if they have concerns about an ID. My concern was the significant difference in how my ID was handled compared with my two male friends' IDs and how the situation was handled afterward. When we were leaving, the employee put her hands on my husband's shoulders and lightly pushed/shoved him toward the exit. I also felt that I was being physically moved out rather than simply being asked to leave. The entire interaction felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. I can't speak to the employee's intentions, but the difference in treatment was noticeable, and the physical contact while removing us from the establishment was particularly concerning. I hope management reviews what happened and ensures that customers are treated consistently and respectfully.
