Came here on Christmas for a nice dinner and was presented with a limited menu, which is understandable since it is a major holiday. Atmosphere was okay, with the lights being on the dimmer side as many other diners have pointed out. The lights also occasionally flickers, suggesting some wiring issue is going on. The service was decent at the beginning, where Kenny was friendly and responsive. However, when we pointed out a minor critique with one of the dish, he didn't acknowledge it and simply walked away, which was disappointing for a fine dining experience. The chicken fungi and lobster bisque was our favorite, so definitely get those. The steak was dry and the sea bass tasted weird in regards to its flavor profile, so stay away from those. Overall it was a okay experience but could be better. Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

Y No lunch specials, just an all day menu which is $29 for an appetizer and entree. The waiter was very nice, but seemed afraid of the manager who kept turning the lights off. It was very dark in there, hard to see anything. The mussels were good, but the other appetizer was supposed to be eggplant stuffed with cheese, but it was greasy mushrooms with honey. I didn't see any eggplant unless it was mashed up. The pasta was average, but not worth the price. All the pastas on the regular menu were $25 and up, not worth it. The manager wasn't friendly either, he was just walking around complaining to the waitstaff and it wasn't busy at all there.

Very good food and charming atmosphere! Last night was our first time at this venue. The service was terrific and the food very tasty! For appetizer we got some sort of zucchini puff with ricotta cheese which was delicious. Main entree we got the Berkshire pork chop and shrimp on wine sauce. Both plates were terrific and full of flavor! The price is ok but portions a bit a small for me. Will definitely come back to this restaurant.

Did a Google search for Italian restaurants in Staten Island and Il Sogno came up as one of the top 10. I can actually say we Finally found A very nice Italian restaurant with great food AND service in Staten Island! The ambience, the decor, the Italian music, all added to the wonderful dining experience. The service was on point. We were not rushed, there was a small pause between courses, which is one of the things that I liked about this restaurant . There is nothing worse than just finishing the last bite of your appetizer and boom out comes your dinner. Another thing about the excellent service is that they do not clear any dishes off the table until everyone at your table has finished eating. Very classy! As I have learned from my father, who was maître d' at a very upscale restaurant in Manhattan for over 40 years, it is a BIG no no to clear dishes while people are still eating at your table. It makes it very uncomfortable for the last person that is still eating. Now let's get to the food. We started with fried calamari. Crispy fresh and delicious. For dinner, I had the Pappardelle Burrata . Delicious tomato sauce and the Pappardelle were cooked to perfection, Al dente . After dinner, we had cappuccino and shared a piece of Italian cheesecake. It was Delicious. Il Sogno is definitely a great restaurant .

My ATF Italian restaurant in the burbs. The meatballs are the best I ever had. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Give it a try if tour near Wheaton. Parking garage nextdoor.

Staff is very professional and friendly, always making sure everyone is having a good time. Honestly, all the food is great here but some of my favorites are definitely the carpaccio and calamari appetizer (the calamari is the BEST I ever had, hands down) and their coffee panacota for dessert is also out of this world, just amazing! If you are a bread lover just know they make their own bread in house. 5 stars always!

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. There was truly an abundance of food, and every bite was delicious. We chose to dine on the first floor, which has a chic, elegant vibe with beautiful décor and a relaxing ambiance. There was a special set menu for the day, and the selections did not disappoint. I had the Burrata Salad followed by the Branzino--both were fresh and flavorful, and the portions were huge! I couldn't even make a dent in my main dish. My husband enjoyed the crepes and the seafood linguine, and he was just as impressed. The kids' menu was a cute touch, especially with the clever dish names. When I asked my 10-year-old what she was having and she replied, "I don't care," I was caught off guard--until I looked at the menu and saw that "I Don't Care" was actually the name of the mac and cheese! So creative and fun. Drinks were great too--strong and satisfying for my husband, and I was happy to see a solid mocktail selection for non-drinkers like me. The only downside? There were only two dessert options available. I was hoping for a bit more variety, especially since everything else exceeded expectations. Overall, it's a 10/10 experience, and I absolutely can't wait to go back!

I'll start off with that I was able to get one, and I am so glad I did. Theres a warmth of nonnas that's made this one of the most unique dining experiences out there. You can feel the love of nonnas cooking in each dish and the joy it brings them. They have a rotating selection of Nonnas along with their classic Italian menu. The Italian menu had food I've never really had before, all executed so well. I had an entire lambs head (not for the weak), so I got to eat cheek, eye, brain, etc. nonna maria had to come teach us out to cook it but it was a fascinating dish. The rabbit was also fall off the bone which I was just so pleasantly surprised by. It came with potatoes and carrots so it just felt so homey. Nonna Elizabeth was Puerto Rico was the featured chef and she made salted cod fritters, which at first, I was like it sounds interesting, but it was so well seasoned I ended up loving it. Got a pork and rice dish also, and the rice was so fascinating. It had olives in it and the pork was well seasoned. They really make you feel valued and that you're in nonnas kitchen. Everytime you go, you're going to get a different experience with the featured Nonna. For real, try this.

When they finally started using a reservation system, I was excited to finally secure one. I booked a reservation for 4 people, including one person who had been saying for years that she wanted to eat the cappuzelle with me. They also make you prepay on your card, which wound up being part of the problem. When we got there, we were seated for a while before anyone came over. We had already gone through the online menu and decided exactly what we wanted. When the waitress finally came over, she told us the burrata and the cappuzelle were sold out. That was incredibly disappointing, especially considering that was the dish I had wanted to try for years and one of the main reasons we came. She left so we could look over the menu again, and the two of us decided to order the branzino. Then we were told they only had one left. At that point it felt ridiculous. We were basically left with only a handful of pasta options and one chicken meal. I honestly do not understand how a restaurant knows exactly how many diners are coming that night, requires prepaid reservations, and is still running out of that much food by 7:00 pm. This was not the end of the night. It wasn't 10:00 pm. It was 7:00 pm. By then I was so frustrated that I told the waitress if I had not prepaid, I would have just left. We ordered the one branzino and made it very clear how disappointed we were. When it finally came, I was almost relieved they didn't have two, because it was impossible to eat. It was served whole, which I understand can have bones, but this was beyond that. It was so full of large and small bones that it was difficult to eat, and there was no effort made to debone it or even guide us through it. But the worst part was that nobody from management even attempted to smooth things over. No apology, no visit to the table, no effort to make it right. It felt like once they had our money, they did not care. I would love to say I loved the place and that I would fight for a reservation again, but I wouldn't. It is completely overhyped, and there are tons of Italian restaurants on Staten Island with better food, better service, and the basic ability to actually serve what is on their menu.
