We were apprehensive based on some of the previous reviews. That was unfounded. This is a handmade pasta restaurant, so yes, the dishes are mainly pasta. Ours was perfectly cooked, had plenty of sauce, and was VERY tasty. My wife and I also loved the olives all'ascolana appetizer. We will return soon, specifically for the pizza and desserts. read more

This is a gem of a restaurant on 5th St in downtown Tulsa. It's small and intimate with outstanding Italian food. We especially like the focaccia bread and the pasta was fantastic. I only wish they had bar seating but they converted a former counter service Cajun restaurant. read more

We went to ilSeme for my birthday celebration. My favorite meal is Linguine Vongole - which I've eaten throughout Italy on many occasions. I delight in this meal when I find it in the US. Il Seme had the absolute worst linguine Vongole I've ever had. I think the clans were canned - yuk. The other 3 people in my group found their food to be adequate. I also enjoy delicious wine. I found their wine list to be incredibly small. Because of the lack of a substantial wine list, we could not agree on a wine as a group. I ordered wine by the glass which was a bit disappointing. Having read the article in the local news, we tried il seme on Friday night. The entry was through a side alley and from the rear of the restaurant due to the sidewalk construction. This added to the New York City feeling of the establishment. Pros: The decor was a combination of the old building terrazzo floor and clean modern tables, lamps and walls. The greeter and our waitress were welcoming and quite pleasant. Both were efficient. The bruschetta was quite different, a rectangle of bread with goat cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes and a sprig of basil. Tasty! The tiramisu was good, but I did not ask if it was made in house. Prices were reasonable. Cons: With only about half of the tables filled, the hard surfaces all around raised the noise level to the point that normal conversation was impossible. Interestingly, for an Italian restaurant there was no Cesar salad on the menu. The wine list was small but adequate. However, only one wine from each category was available by a glass pour. The bar menu only listed a few craft cocktails. Although I was able to order a straight bourbon. My linguini Bolognese was disappointing. There was very little meat in the pasta sauce and luckily I had ordered meat balls to be added. The pasta was barely coated with sauce and the overall result was very bland. My partner ordered the pasta with clam sauce. Again the amount of sauce was minimal. It was mostly just pasta. Again it was bland. Bread was not served with the main course. Final assessment, a disappointing experience. read more

As owners of two of the most exceptional restaurants in tulsa , I beg you to take a closer look at this menu. The stem heavy kale/rapini salad was inedible!! Too much cheese as well. Cristina was stale. The pastry with prosciutto so disappointing. The meat was so flabby and uncooked. Basil was an unappetizing brown/gray color after cooked. You can get better pastry appetizers at Sam's :( we love local places and have always had amazing food at farm bar. Please get real with your ingredients and add some variety!! Kale and rapini and garlic are not the only vegetables on season. read more

Had a wonderful dinner party of 7 last night. The ambience is a little wanting but I didn't notice any difficulty with noise as one reviewer mentioned. The menu is small but a good variety of apps and salads. My fettuccine bolognese was fabulous. The pasta was perfect and the ragu ( not the jar kind) on the dish was delicious. Others also loved their meatballs. There were only pasta dishes for main course...some with meat and others without. No meat and veggie main entrees. Had an interesting cannoli and fabulous pavlova for dessert. Our server was new I Think but checked on all our questions. Would definitely return. I would give it a 4.6 if we had a choice. read more

The food was different but good. The atmosphere very attractive. The service excellent. We had a most delightful evening EXCEPT it was so noisy I couldn't hear the conversations! It is so sad that most good restaurants make no effort to reduce the noise. As we age our hearing tends to diminish. The reason we go out for meals is for the companionship as many of us now live alone. I probably will not go back - unless something is done to improve the acoustics! I am so disappointed and sorry. read more

My girlfriend took me here for my birthday and I'll start by saying the food was good and the server was very nice and professional. However at the end of our meal the host/manager came over to our table and impolitely said I hate to do this but you've been here 2 hours and we have a wait, essentially telling us we overstayed our welcome. This was her first and only time talking to us. We ordered appetizers, entrees, a dessert, and drinks. We never turned away our server or asked for more time to decide. We also payed as soon as the check hit our table, but as soon as we signed for the tip we were told to leave. She really sullied the whole experience and acted in a way I would not expect from a restaurant of this caliber. read more

Very disappointed. Our party of 4 had various pasta entrees - all were served barely warm. The eggplant pasta dish was so cold - felt as if it had been refrigerated. No simple bar service - only premixed cocktails available. We went for the first time for a birthday celebration. We were asked by the owner? Manager? To leave because they needed the table. Her approach to the conversation was rude. Immediately after signing the $250 ticket (in short she said) she hates to do this but we have been here for two hours and they needed the table for reservation. The hospitality and delivery was lacking. It would have been received better if she asked how our evening was and if we enjoyed our meal and thanked us for coming and maybe even mentioned how busy of a night they are having to hint to us we need the table. Then MAYBE come back after 5- 10 mins asking not telling we need the table. Instead we felt kicked out after immediately spending $250. And we ordered as soon as our waitress was there and paid as soon as the check arrived. We left our leftovers on the table on accident because we were so set back by the interaction. The whole ride home all we talked about was how rude that was instead of ending the night on a good note because the food and service was good. I feel like we were targeted because we were young and maybe she felt she could talk to us like that and it wouldn't matter. We spend good money there for an experience and it's not our problem you were overbooked. The delivery could have been better on your part. Please treat your paying GUESTS better. read more

Wow, just WOW! Every dish was thoughtful and more delicious with each bite. From the salads, to the carbonara and the trout special, this meal felt almost life changing. Based on my wife's previous experience with her lady friends and on the good reviews we decided to go there on a Saturday night with another couple. The online menu wasn't very promising - just pasta and pizza. But it did mention daily specials and my wife assured me they were great. First thing I noticed when we arrived was that they think very highly of their wines for a moderately priced restaurant. Glasses beginning at $12 and bottles for $50! When we asked about specials, we were informed only 1 available - a steak. (Which I don't eat.) If we were by ourselves, we would have left. There is a decent selection of locally brewed beer. I ordered the porter & it was tasty. We began with the fried olive appetizer - unusual & tasty. But the portion size - 5 olives, should have been a warning. We ordered two pasta dishes, one with shrimp and one with anchovies. Both were skimpy and arrived cold and inedible. My anchovy pasta didn't have any actual anchovies in it, just a smattering of anchovy pasta. We sent both dishes back and I switched to a meat pizza. When the hot dishes were delivered my wife discovered 5 PIECES of shrimp (not whole shrimp) in it - for $24! Virtually no sauce to speak of. She ate the shrimp and a couple of forks of not very tasty pasta. The pizza was tasty but there's much better pizza to be had in Tulsa. The only good thing was that we were so obviously disappointed in our food that the restaurant comped our meals. But there's no reason to return. My wife and I are displaced New Yorkers and we grew up in one of many New York's Italian districts. The owners of this restaurant need a cooking lesson from an Italian momma. read more

I have been wanting to try Living Kitchen for years and haven't been able to yet. When I heard the owners were opening this restaurant I immediately reserved a seat. I had been anticipating my experience for weeks. I can say without a shred of doubt I will be back and be recommending this establishment to all of my friends. From the wine selection all the way to dessert, I was impressed. We started with the lamb stuffed Arancini a bread crumb fried cheesy risotto ball with house made marinara, then shared the Linguini vongole and the red pepper cavatelli. To end we shared the the pana cotta. Everything was delicious. I will say the cavatelli looks like small carrots but if you know going into it that the cavatelli is actually made with the red pepper and goat cheese made into it you understand the appearance and are pleasantly surprised by its amazing texture and taste. I can't wait to go back and experience it more as a traditional Italian experience tasting each course and enjoying the atmosphere. I hope more people take the time to try it because you will not be disappointed!! read more
