Had a delicious lunch at Il Ritrovo today. We opted to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather, and were able to be seated immediately. Our server Dylan was excellent, and the rest of the staff kept our waters filled and dishes cleared. We tried the Vegetariano panini (fantastic) and the Lombardia pizza Bianca (also fantastic). Everything is clearly prepared with intention - the greens on top of the salad were perfectly dressed, and the veggies on the panini were chopped into small, uniform pieces so every bite was perfect. It was hard to decide what to order, so we will be back to work our way through the menu! read more

I've been here multiple times and although they boast about their AUTHENTIC pizza...it is ALWAYS SOGGGY! Perfect spot if you want a goopy, soggy mess. My boyfriend loves this spot, but I have no idea why. I have tried giving it a chance, but I wouldn't bring anyone here. I don't get why people like this spot. The ambiance is "nice" and the service is generally good, although all the servers are young and enjoy chatting with each other far more than doing their job. Deserts are the best part of the experience. Their pastas are also good, but at dinner you only have the option of the pasta special. Please do yourself a favor and go to Uptown Slice instead. They make way better pizza and are much less pretentious. read more

We got a bunch of foods to share! The fish, the gnocchi, the pizza, it was all delicious. The waiter was incredibly kind. It's a bit loud cause it's incredibly busy, you should expect a wait, but it's worth it. The ceiling was painted gorgeously and it's genuinely such a vibe. The booths are wooden, with no cushions so if you have back issues like me so you should probably ask for a table instead of a booth. Overall it's a great experience. read more

Lunch at Il Ritrovo in Sheboygan was outstanding from start to finish. The house made bread alone is worth the visit ... warm, fresh, and absolutely spectacular. We ordered everything that was on special today, and every dish impressed. The smoked trout salad with arugula was bright, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The four cheese pizza ... featuring Taleggio, ricotta, mozzarella, and one other cheese I can't remember ... topped with speck ... was truly to die for. We also tried the mortadella ravioli in a rich brown butter sauce, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. Service was absolutely incredible ... attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. My wife and I started coming here 22 years ago when we were first married. Il Ritrovo has never disappointed us. We've been away for a few years, so we looked for the spots we could always count on. Il Ritrovo did not fail. The soups, salads, pizzas and even their wine list and espresso selection are all amazing. I've spent a bit of time in Napoli, Italia, so I love the classic Margherita pizza...but I always love when places will do the Diavola or just simply add some prosciutto after it comes out of the oven. Their staff is all super nice - there may be a wait on weekend nights, so be prepared to wait. There is bar seating and a waiting space available if you have to wait. Recently visited Il Ritrivo for a weeknight dinner with friends. I was surprised how busy it was for a Tuesday evening. We spent time in the bar area which was also full. The bar tables are standing only which was unfortunate for our half hour wait. There are some benches in the back of the bar area near the diners. But the waitstaff is constantly moving through and so it's not a relaxing place to sit. Once we were seated, our server greeted us quickly and told us about specials. We ordered two of the specials as they sounded delicious and they did not disappoint. We also had a regular Margarita pizza as well (also tasty according to my wife). As other reviewers have commented, the quality of food at this restaurant was top notch before the pandemic but apparently declined when it first reopened after the pandemic. We dined at Il Ritrovo for the 4th time recently and had a memorable experience that far exceeded the previous visits. The two dishes that we shared for lunch were Con Tono (tuna sandwich) and Pesce del Giorno - Seabass Special. The tuna sandwich had a wide spectrum of flavorful ingredients (tuna, pickled vegetables, cherry tomatoes, and spicy mayonnaise) that made each bite a delightful party in my mouth. The Seabass Special was cooked perfectly with the skin on both sides crispy and the meat inside moist and flavorful, and the tomato sauce on top adds some sweet and sour tastes that further enhanced the flavor of the fish. The dish also came with sauteed spinach and cannellini beans on the side. The spinach was tender and fresh and probably cooked in high heat for a very short time, as it was crispy but not mushy or chewy. The cannellini beans were cooked just right in a flavorful sauce with tomatoes and flavorings. The Italian bread that we were served was clearly freshly baked round lunch time that day and tasted very good. There were a lot of customers that day, and the servers were very busy but still attentive. Our server gave us the tuna sandwich first to make sure that we could start enjoying it fresh and told us that the fish would be ready in a couple of minutes, even updating us about it 30 seconds before it was ready. The restaurant had evidently made other improvements since our last visit in May 2023. The menu seemed substantially different, adding multiple panini and pasta dishes and also serving main course dishes that were not available for lunch in the past. I now feel no hesitation in calling it one of the best restaurants in Wisconsin. read more

I would be hard pressed to think of a better pizza that I've had than Il Ritrovo. Some may be close (Lovely's Fifty Fifty in Portland or Settebello in Salt Lake City), but not better. Recently visited this restaurant with a bunch of friends. We were in the neighborhood on a golf trip after around golf we were looking to have something simple and casual. The setting was very nicely set up with one side sit down restaurant the other side bar and some larger seating areas we had several appetizers the best one was the prosciutto. for dinner we ordered several pizzas Butcher all very well done thin crust, oven and baked and the pasta special which was baked penne. The baked penne was very nice with a little bit of spice. And we wrapped up with some tiramisu and ice cream. I love this place! It is a favorite pick when going out with my boyfriend's sisters. It's a cute place, casual, always hoppin'! In the summer we sit outside; inside is cozy. There is something for everyone on the menu. But first... WINE! They have my favorite Montepulciano D'Abruzzo. The pizzas are great as well as the salads. My go to pasta is the Rigatoni Con Salsiccia E Gorgonzola. There is so much food, sometimes my man and I split a salad and pasta. You always have to leave room for dessert! The last few times, we have had the same server. She couldn't be more pleasant AND positive. I wish more people were like her! (And I wish I could remember her name...) Ate outside as there just aren't many more chances this year, service was prompt and great. What a disappointment! We have absolutely loved the owners other establishments Field to Fork and Stefano's Slo Food Market. So we were excited to try the Italian restaurant tonight. We waited about 30 minutes for our table. We were a party of three and one of us ordered gnocchi and the other two ordered gnocchi to split and one had a bowl of potato leek soup. The waitress seemed obviously disappointed about the entree to share and tried to push other items saying it's a small portion. The bread that was served was flavorless with an extremely hard crust. The gnocchi was good but not delicious. There was an awkward interaction with the waitress when I told her I needed change with my bill. She tried to give me change minus her tip. This restaurant is our go-to when in the area and we never leave without stocking up on delicious ingredients next door. The Fonduta Al Forno is still our favorite appetizer, and we never leave without trying a specialty pizza or pasta. Amy and I had lunch at Il Ritrovo Friday July 26th. Having had lunch there on numerous occasions, we were well aware of the menu. We sat at the bar and were greeted by one of two bartenders. We immediately ordered one of our favorite dishes and it was great per usual. We had a couple more items which were also excellent. A gentlemen bartender started our service then a woman finished our lunch service. The guy was pretentious but the woman was super pleasant and knowledgeable. Her service was excellent! All in all it was a great lunch. I need to mention that during our lunch we took notice of a few of the servers going in and out of the gelato case helping themselves to gelato. I could not believe when I saw one server filling a customers glass coup with gelato and then swiping her finger along the side and putting her finger in her mouth. That is not cool. One server must have had a half a dozen tastes of the gelato in and out of the case. Having been a server years ago, I would suggest that the staff have some professionalism and take their gelato to the back of the house instead of munching on the product in front of customers. I don't think ownership would be happy with what took place. The other thing we noticed was a puddle of water under the bar that has been there for a few weeks now. Fix it. I am seriously considering moving to Sheboygan just so I can eat here everyday. I'm not even joking when I say this is the best mother fucking pizza I have ever shoved into my mouth. Ok, so we went here for dinner and ordered arancini and their pizza special of the night. The arancini was delicious, but the star was the sauce. That sauce had so much flavor, so much body, yet wasn't acidic and overwhelming. The balance was impeccable. If that sauce was a gymnast on a balance beam, it woulda done it's routine and stuck the landing and scored all 10s from the judges. I wanted to lick the plate clean but I was shamed into acting like an adult. Now on to the pizza. This sounded pretty simple; smoked mozzarella on their pizza sauce, then once cooked, smoked prosciutto is draped on top, and then is sprinkled with arugula, fresh tomatoes. It's fucking life changing. That thin crust held up beautifully under just enough slightly acidic sauce and smokey cheese and meat, followed by that bitter peppery arugula and fresh bursts of tomato. Guys, I was sweating it was so good. And the crust at the end was both crisp and chewy. I dipped it in olive oil and legit died and went to heaven. Oh and everyone was so nice! But also very evil because our server dude (I'm sorry, I forgot his name but he is awesome as fuck) kept tempting us with house desserts. (They roast their own beans for their affogato).
