Service is, as some people have mentioned on Yelp and on Google maps, quite lackluster; resting b**** face seems to be the theme here- a stark contrast considering everywhere else I've visited in Lisbon so far has been filled with top notch smiling service. The RBF honestly sometimes isn't a bad thing if we compare it to the other extreme of overly excited overbearing wait staff checking in on you every two bites. Here on an overcast rainy Sunday early afternoon - first weekend of January 2025 so it's low tourist season and a bit chilly but it's also not too cold to sit outside. Double espresso helped me wake up a bit; had an over priced glass of red wine (7 euros?!!) that was definitely VERY meh. Ordered the Pugliese pizze. It was average- neither amazing nor horrid. Overall, I'd say this place is a tad pricey - it's NYC prices/ what I expect to pay at home, but doesn't quite meet standards to be charging these prices. Basically a hyped up tourist trap. Come here if you're an expat or for the outdoor dining vibes. Eat at the Vasco de Gama mall food court if you want a better value/quality ratio.

There were a mixture of tourists and locals and the vibe was good. Although there is a constant breeze from the bay, the glass partitions keep it comfortable. Not sure how well outside we be during the hottest months, but in a 70 degree day like this evening it was perfect. There is a full bar and a good selection of local and Italian wines. The Valpolicello Ripasso we ordered was from a winery new to us, and it was enjoyable. We had a caprese salad to start. The tomatoes were fresh and full of flavor and the mozzarella was fresh tasting as well. Although we prefer a good balsamic vinegar drizzle, the pesto olive oil did work. The pasta in both dishes was on the harder side of al dente, and it worked great. I'm not sure if it was fresh pasta but I'd put money on it being fresh pasta. The burrata and the tomato sauce for the spaghetti had a very nice balance, and you won't go wrong with the dish. The carbonara is made from eggs (not cream!) a as it should be. The raw egg over the top was an excellent touch. If you're worried about raw eggs order something else. Because this is exactly the way carbonara is supposed to be prepared. The yolk was a darker orange, tasting fresh from the farm. And it really added a nice layer of flavor. Again, a dog friendly establishment, so remember not all dogs are timid! And no worries of you bring your little canine compatriot, they will be welcomed with open arms!

Tourist trap is when they offer bad food at high price, so I won't call this a tourist trap. You probably can venture to some neighborhood fish restaurant for a better value, but otherwise, you won't be disappointed with the selection and preparation. Near the entrance they have a display case with all the fresh catches. We skipped the shellfishes as Cervajeria Ramiro is our (and the world's) favorite, and we doubted that this place can rival it. Though of course, here you can skip the hour's wait. Hubby was hoping to get the dover sole, but it was not available. We tried another flatfish, turbot, which was expertly grilled and then filleted at our table. Sides are traditional potato and greens.

I should've known better, being in Portugal and all. The Legumes soup was honest and right, but when the octopus rice (a soupy rice dish) arrived, I was taken aback by the tenderness of the meat, the texture of the rice and the combination of flavors. Surprised not to see this place on Yelp (or T.A.) I decided to add it. A Gem for a very dim sum!
