This place was right beside our apartment and a minute walk from the impressive Trevi Fountain. It's open at least 14 hours daily every day.
We found the value for money here excellent given its location but there's lots of assertive, pushy competition around it. I suspect these and places linked to the nearby 'Harry's Bar' are likely owned by mega business and banks because once you pay your receipt has a cooperate name and not the restaurant style name over the door.
The large cappuccinos are real smooth and great tasting likewise the gelato and the real super cannolis. The gelato is in chilled liquid form and frozen in a few ice cream drums placed in a front window. The large cannoli I chose was filled with pistachio cream as I drooled, sorry waited impatiently, sorry patiently.
All the servers are ace and the chap serving up my gelato acted as if it was a work of art.
If you do go you must pay before you get your order and this is not obvious to tourists; so there's a pay area for main food and coffee and a separate till at the gelato to pay in advance there. They scan euro notes for forgeries.
The down sides that are avoidable include the seating so 4 star. The high chairs are uncomfortable, not for the elderly as so little is these days and they wobble unnerving you when you sit so better seating and unavoidable includes that it's always busy and the wall of noise that's a constant 16 hours every day at Trevi. read more
