I had a very disappointing experience at this European Wax Center…read more My appointment was at 12:30 p.m. I arrived early after parking and paying the meter. I was told the store was on break until 12:30. I politely asked if I could wait inside since I had already paid for parking, but my question was ignored. A few minutes later, another customer arrived and was warmly told she could wait inside until her appointment. When it was time for my appointment, several other names were called before mine, despite my having been waiting since noon. At checkout, I expected the advertised first-time guest pricing based on how my appointment was booked. Instead, I was told I had to pay full price because it was considered my second visit. When I asked what the total was, my question was not answered. I was simply asked for my ZIP code and told to tap my card. I only saw the total after the transaction had already been processed. After leaving, I realized I had never been offered a receipt, so I went back inside to request one. When I returned, I could hear the front desk discussing me with the esthetician, including asking whether I had left a tip and how much it was. Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, the conversation focused on my gratuity. I asked another esthetician if she could please ask them to stop talking about me because I had a question. Her response was, "What are you going to do about it?" I was shocked by how unprofessional that interaction was. The waxing service itself was fine, but the customer service experience was not. From the confusing checkout process and lack of price transparency to the way my concerns were handled afterward, I left feeling dismissed and disrespected. I will not be returning and hope management reviews the professionalism of the staff and the checkout process.

This sugaring spot like many I've been to, have no hot towels. You really can't sugar without hot…read moretowels. No matter how talented the technician you will leave sticky. Also there was no pre-care. They do a Brazilian facial, but it's just like a scrub, which you should never do at the same time as a Sugaring or a waxing. Those processes are already physically exfoliating. With no hot towels, there is no way to open up the pores to loosen up the hairs so I had a bunch of breakage. I had regrowth within the week. Sugaring should give you about 2 1/2 weeks hair free. My technician was talented, but she only had a firm paste available to her so it was incredibly painful while she molded the sugar which shouldn't be painful at all. It was like dragging silly putty over my hairs. The walls needed another coat of white paint. You could see faint purple paint behind it. The bed is so rickety and narrow. There's no padding, I could feel the frame under my body. It was like laying on a wooden slab. My butt cheeks hung off of either side of the table. This is definitely not a double bolt treatment table, so all of the weight rests on a single bolt that could break. No windows no Plants. Nothing comforting.

I've been to New Skin Esthetics about 3 times (once for a consultation and twice for facials). WOW…read more- Emilia is not only personable, attentive, but super knowledgeable about the right products for an individual, recognizing how unique everyones' skin is. She's made me realize how important it is to have a great Esthetician (Emilia, thank you :)) and the best part is she takes her time! She inspects the skin to understand my skin goals and makes the proper recommendation based on that. She doesn't look at pricing or what might benefit her, but instead truly focuses on what would benefits the clients' skin. I have gone to her with a certain facial or treatment in mind and she is always transparent about if that is the right treatment for me, at that time. Currently, I've really been enjoying my extraction facials coupled with microneedling after. My skin looks and feels incredibly smooth and clean.

I decided to make a consultation appointment with Emilia. She made me feel comfortable and welcomed my many questions/ concerns. I have done 9 sessions of laser hair removal as of today and I am so happy with the results. If Emilia recommends something it's because she genuinely believes it will benefit you. While she is very knowledgeable she is also a genuine person who truly wants the best for her clients. I trust Emilia 100 percent!

To add insult.to injury she had the audacity to charge me a cancellation fee. I live in East NY and work in the Upper East Side my commute was 6 trains just to get there and there is no grace time or period. This is completely unacceptable we live in NYC and do not control the trains. I've never been late in the past and I've been coming here for months.
