What can I say about Ikea other than I never have enough room in my car for everything I purchase. We even drove a sofa home tied to the top of my tiny Toyota Corolla.... Very Beverly Hillbillies. The furniture is easy to put together and I am super happy with how well it all holds up. The have cool, hip Danish designs for such reasonable prices. Friendly staff, and a dining area as you can't get in and out of there in under 4 hours. Go on a week day if you can, as weekends in the summer are like Disney World. read more

Simply, I love IKEA for their stock, as well as my ability to get all of my Fitbit steps in for the day when I go for a visit. What I don't love is the maze that it takes to get through everything, and the fact that every customer seems to bring their entire family along and then walk slowly in horizontal groups every weekend. Service is helpful upstairs, if you can find someone who isn't busy with another customer. Prices are generally reasonable, although IKEA has upped some of their prices lately (hopefully with a correlation in quality). The best way to enjoy IKEA: go on a weekday evening, give yourself at least 2 hours to get through the display area and determine what you like and don't like, and definitely plan ahead if you know what you're looking for (bring the right car, measure the space in your home and your car, and bring muscle if necessary). Just remember that almost all products are best put together with power tools, so be prepared for what you're bringing home! read more

This is a review of their delivery service when you purchase something online. Don't do it! First delivery date only part of the order came. Second delivery date, they never showed...just an email saying "delivery failed" and a rescheduled date. I took work off on that date and then I got a call mid-morning saying they need to reschedule. I was on hold for 2 hours trying to get it resolved and finally just cancelled the order. I really like their products, but the delivery is just awful. read more

When I lived in Jersey we had an IKEA there. When I moved to Dayton, Ohio I missed 2 things...Ihop and IKEA. I was so excited when I heard that IKEA was coming to West Chester!!! I love the store. I make sure to get the catalog when they come out. I mostly buy decorative stuff for the home, like candles, art, organizing stuff, etc. The one thing I hate about IKEA are the directions. There instructions do not have any words on them...you have to "follow the picture." I love to visit IKEA because they show you how to use your space. If you have 300 square feet, they show you how to get the best out of every inch of that space. The store is wonderful!!! Went in for meatballs only...came out with $60 worth of stuff and meatballs! The place is huge and confusing to try to get out of but they have a huge selection of stuff for reasonable prices. Not really possible to do an in-and-out mission for one thing. Their cafe has a huge spread of things you can eat. Im guessing you need sustenance for navigating this huge place. Although, I have to say...never do I go to a store and think I need a lobster for lunch. Maybe thats just me! The store is very inviting and the people that work there are always wanting to help. I especially like the little model rooms/homes that they have, which show you how their products will help you save space. Oh I do enjoy coming to IKEA. I went in just for some lamps and picture frames and came out with a whole world of inspiration. I will be going back next month to grab some bookcases, a lovely wine island and a dresser drawer. My review is for the food, because I'm a foodie at heart. IKEA excels at what they do - sell stylish home furnishings at low prices. IKEA furniture is well engineered to be customer assembled yet strong. I admit I was skeptical as to the strength and quality of the products before purchasing anything. During assembly, I realized this stuff is well thought out to be secure and sturdy while also remaining stylish. It doesn't have a cheap look or feel like some other customer assembled furniture brands. I personally like most of the styles they offer. I would definitely recommend IKEA to the college student or recent grad furnishing their first apartment. It is also a good choice for those who can assemble furniture and just looking to save some cash. IKEA does require assembly and some may be challenged by that. They offer assembly at an additional charge. I would highly suggest checking online for stock if you know what you want prior to going to the store. IKEA will sell all items in a customer self service bin and will not restock it until after closing - even if the item is in the store's bulk storage area. you may get to the store and the bin is empty even after checking first. My first time at Ikea. Won't be back. Was primarily looking at furniture and mattress sets. Product labeling was confusing and inaccurate. When we made our selection, and went to the warehouse area, nothing was where it was supposed to be. We even had an employee check the computer. Then discovered the pricing was different than what was shown on the display. After hours in the store we abandoned most of what we were going to buy. We went through the check out with a few small items and expressed our concerns to the check out clerk who clearly could care less. Her only comment was "Do we want to buy a bag?" Really? Frankly the merchandise is cheap junk and of course none is made in USA (we knew that going in). The layout is the worst from a shoppers standpoint. You have to wind your way through the whole store, even if you are looking for a specific item. I guess the restaurant area at the end of the maze is like the cheese for the rats. Yes you can buy items very cheaply here. And I'm sure you will get what you paid for. The mattresses we looked at were spring mattresses, but they were actually rolled up in the warehouse. What kind of mattress is rolled up? Seems like what they would issue at a prison. I don't get the appeal of this place. And would rather buy American whenever possible. read more

I'm a HUGE fan of IKEA. They have a modular, modern style that lends itself to customization and flair. One thing you need to know, all the parts are not Always in the box. If you need parts, start with the toll free number, but evenutally, you may need to call the store directly. They're crafty. The store number is 513.779.7100, but it'll take you to are request for extension and then a disconnect. The main switchboard can be accessed by dialing ext. 0000. Once you've reached an employee, they're awesome. We had a missing 6' bed board (yeah, crazy right?) and the corporate had shipped the replacement to the store to be shipped to us (200 mile drive to IKEA). This store is not the place you go if you need just a few things. I came with the intention of replacing two trash bins. The entrance to the marketplace was locked on the first floor so I had to trek through the entire layout with 3 unhappy teens in tow. If i had issues walking like my mother, it would have been impossible. I enjoy taking a stroll through the store for ideas from time to time, but I don't like being forced into it. This is not keeping the customer's needs in mind. I also had trouble finding said bins, but could never find an associate to help. I was lucky enough to stumble into what I needed. I have an IKEA kitchen with a drawer for a trash and recycle bin. It's also sad that they don't sell bins that fit without having to cut one of them down on a side. Pathetic. read more

Love ikea, but had a really disappointing visit to the cafe last week. I was there at dinner and the food on the hot bar looked like it had been sitting out for a long time. I was unlucky enough to get the last meatballs from a container and the outsides were dried out. Green beans were nicely cooked though and the mashed potatoes were fine. The pasta e fagoli soup was so mushy with overdone pasta that had been sitting around too long. Food in the grab and go case- salmon sandwich/wraps, and salads looked way past their prime as well. Can I just live here? For real. Everytime I go, I enjoy spending a few good hours here. I will say, that once, as a personal challenge, I tried to see how fast I could get in, buy two things and get out- it was 23 minutes in case you were wondering, but it is way more fun to save a few hours! I love browsing the set up upstairs to get ideas (you can skip this if you know what you want) and we always time our visit around a trip to the Food area! Yes, it can be a bit like cafeteria food, complete with trays, but it is decent. We especially love breakfast, with free coffee for IKEA family members, heart shaped waffles for my daughter, and $1 breakfast that is enough to fill my belly for a few hours of shopping. I love the self-serve area for grabbing what you need in an organized manner, I hate having to ask for help and their organization system and computers available for use eliminate that worry. While some things you get from there are going to be more "European"- sofas that aren't deep or soft or comfy, minimalistic chairs, etc., for the most part the quality is great. Bookcases do their job, holding books and lasting for years. Our Wingback chair is sturdy, cleans up easily, and has lasted 5 years as well. When I have needed to make a return, we are always excited to get Regina in returns- she is funny, fast, and knows her stuff. Can I just go to IKEA now instead of to work??? read more

Ordered a bed for my daughter on 23 October. It was delivered on 31 October. Task Rabbit arrives 1 Nov to assemble. He notified us that we were missing the slats. We called IKEA; first they tried to say I didn't purchase any. I asked the CSR had he ever placed an order online. He said he had not. I responded with, "I figured! You can order a bed without selecting slats." That frustrated me and I asked for my call to be escalated. He transferred me to the Resolutions Team. The next CSR again tried to say I didn't order them but she then noticed the support beam was listed on my order and it can't be ordered separately. I then advised what was listed on my original receipt with stock numbers and the price I was billed. She immediately realized, the slats WERE paid for in my original purchase AND the West Chester location was out of stock at the time of delivery. She stated I should have been notified and a case number created to locate slats at another facility or refund me the cost of the slats. Neither of these things were done. This CSR created a case number and advised the slats would be delivered at no charge on 4 Nov. 4 Nov came and no slats. I called on 5 Nov and was told the case had to be reviewed and approved before processing the shipment and that because of that delay my order would NOW be delivered on 8 Nov via FedEx. I was even provided a new order number. I had been traveling for work and returned home today only for my daughter to tell me she STILL had not received the slats for her bed. I called IKEA customer service YET AGAIN. I immediately asked for the Resolution Team, to my disappointment yet again. I was told the slats would not be delivered until 2 Dec. Once again, I didn't receive an email or a phone call about the delay. Basically, I purchased a bed almost 30 days ago and I will not get the rest of the parts until 2 December...your talking 5 weeks total that we'll have waited and that's IF they even arrive then. At this point I believe anything IKEA says. All the sorrys don't mean squat at this point! And "all they could do" is give me a $20 gift card. What the heck am I supposed to do with that?!?! By far, the worst experience and customer service EVER!!! My daughter's mattress is still on the floor! I only went with IKEA because my daughter really wanted that bed. For instance a heavy enameled metal and steel colander I bought recently rusted after the first wash and I had even hand washed and hand dried it. Most of the electric items require ugly, bulky adapters and can't be dimmed. There are certainly treasures if you look hard enough. Prices have crept up dramatically in the last few years. Restaurant - A few things they can't break like pasta and marinara sauce, but quality can very wildly on entrees, they will serve you dried out, overcooked, aged, rock-hard meat or veggie balls without batting an eye. Fountain drinks are gruesome and watered down to the point they barely have any taste WHEN they are actually working. The desserts are pretty but teeny tiny and have no taste. If you must do the restaurant stick to the entries and drink ice water. Snack Bar - The snack bar unlike the restaurant is consistently good as well as full of kid-friendly options. The cinnamon rolls are tasty but the free coffee that comes with your IKEA family membership always has grounds in it. read more

Paid for our order after waiting 45 minutes in line then had to wait another hour to get our "pick up items" only to be told that the cashier had messed something up so we had to redo the transaction and wait another 20 minutes to bring them out. We could only get half of the table we needed so we called another IKEA almost 2 hours away to go get the other half but since pick up took almost two hours we won't make it there in time to get the other piece! Trendy and cheap. Almost too hard to resist for young people. Stock up before the prices see a big jump because IKEA is known for squeezing the last penny from the suppliers. It is a shark in the supply chain. A lot of Asian suppliers are fed up and have left the jungle. Very good customer service which of course is a big thumbs up! So now I'm sitting in the returns and exchanges department waiting for my turn in line. Since this IKEA opened it is now almost two hours closer than the next nearest one in Schaumburg. However, Schaumburg is still my favorite because: 1. It is the original US IKEA concept layout. 2. The store is monstrous, so there is more product in the store and thus more that you can take home today. 3. There are three levels and everything is organized towards the center elevators and escalators. 4. The layout makes absolutely no fluid sense, but that's the FUN of it! The Cincinnati store is a better flow, laid out better, the hallways more passable and you see everything if you don't do the shortcuts. But that's where this store is a drag. Unless you are looking for the shortcuts, you have to walk the entire maze of the store to get out! So you see everything and it all flows where you can get a sense of laying out your house room by room. I DON'T CARE. I want to go randomly from cabinet lights, to painting, to storage baskets for do dads, to vases, past the restaurant, then go to the other level and look at the futon I've always wanted then go back up to lighting and look at lamps. Thank you very much! Plus there are only two floors here, which means that the first floor doesn't have much other than the endless aisles of very heavy boxes teetering above your head, returns/rejects, and a few random things that were already on 2nd floor. So this store just isn't as fun. However, I have found everything I am looking for, and some really great deals. So I'll probably be back if I actually want to buy something on a list that's organized. However, if I want to blow 6 and a half hours, and buy $500.00 worth of random stuff I won't even look at till three years later, than I'll go to the fun one in Schaumburg. read more

A lot of people start with the showroom and walk their way through the path that has arrows, kinda of like following the yellow brick road - kick your heels Dorthy! After an eye propping experience walking the show room you can make your way to grab a bite to eat. The food area is well decorated and comfortable. Food choices are plentiful for both adults and kids and the prices are GREAT!! Okay so after grabbing food head down to the shopping area where you can pick up the items you spotted in the showroom. After you have picked up the items to transform your castle you will appropriately be at the checkout! IKEA is a dream come true! A bit confusing at first but starting at the second level and drooling over all the amazing and SUPER cheap decor is so fun!! Most times are available for purchase on the first level and all furniture must be picked up in the warehouse section just before check out. They have a deal going now , when u spend $100 u can eat for free , I ordered the salmon and vegetables with a salad, all was very yummy!!
