IKEA City is officially opened! It's a huge space to satisfy all your IKEA home renovation fantasies. It's a really big diss okay room for those who like playing house. You will have to order the larger pieces for pickup but you can shop for all the smaller pieces in store. There's quite a few self checkout machines by the entrances. There is also a food market area for all those Swedish meatball lovers. You can order the food fresh and enjoy in the store. There's a bunch of tables around for dining in. There's also an area to shop for the frozen goods so you can bring them home. Overall, will definitely be back to shop and grab some food next time.

This is an interesting sales strategy for IKEA! Show up somewhere (like here in a shopping mall) that people didn't expect you to be and then offer customers a design service that IKEA can fully furnish via IKEA products. I've been to IKEA showrooms and leave thinking great thoughts but little becomes of the visit. How many of the design sessions will actually convert to sales? Only time will tell but enjoy it while it's here.

You'll find a lot of cutely painted Japanese ceramics such as bowls, plates and tea sets. There are a lot of cheaply priced kitchen knick knacks like plastic juicers, mandolins, etc that are under $30. The bathroom products also Japanese cosmetics and face creams. The bedroom items include standard pillows and some duvets but I've also lumped in things like plush toys and cutesy stationary. In terms of living area, there are walls of lucky cats of all different sizes (and even animal types) and an impressive display of misting water fountains. Next year is the lunar year of the dog, so they had lucky dogs to go with their lucky cats! I picked up a set of 2 for $14. The front of the store always displays the sale items the store and in the store there are a lot of 2 for $5 signs as well. Everything is at a lower price point in the store but the wares aren't off putting like at a dollar store. A nice place to hit up if you're ever shopping for a new apartment or dorm room!

I am a typical guy when shopping in the sense that I very rarely stop to look around. Recently when I was here,I'm was with my mother and being who she is,Moshe had to check every other thing just to make sure that was not a better one. This gave me a chance to look at the inventory here and the selection. I though it was pretty good, I did not realize they had so many it's for sale here. There is even furniture; nothing big mind you but something for redecorating. Totally unrelated I noticed that there is a lot of natural light coming into the store through the high windows, I thought this made the store much nicer to walk through and the sun light made it seem like being outside. Very nice store!
