I really hate walking out of a place knowing that I can't give them anything more than a 1-star but…read morewhen you experience such poor customer service, I simply can't justify giving them anything higher. As a customer, I tend to not appreciate being told what I like and what I don't like... I think I know better than anyone... so when I'm told by the "hired help" that, the reason why they don't sell feather pillows is because nobody likes them, it's not quite factual. I happen to love feather pillows. In fact, the last set of pillows I had were my first down filled pillows and it made me wonder why I had deprived myself all my life. Well, it was time to go buy a new set so off to Sleep Country I went, figuring that they would have a wonderful selection. Not a feather pillow to be found... because apparently, it's not what I really want. Right. I have to say, with the attitudes I experienced from the two men in this store, I wasn't surprised at all that the place was empty. I ended up going to Home Outfitters, where they carry all the same brands for a lot less money.... but, they also have a large selection of beautiful down filled fluffy pillows! Sure, I still ended up paying nearly $100 (on sale from $189) per pillow but I am extremely happy with my purchase and I received great customer service. Sorry Christine Magee, but this is a perfect example of why I'd buy my mattress (and pillows) anywhere else.

Given how my first experience with this store turned out, I was very reluctant to return. Sadly, my…read moresecond experience has been every bit as bad. My first purchase with Sleep Country in 2010 was a nightmare. The salesperson violated my privacy and the law by disclosing my address to someone they shouldn't have, causing me serious distress. Then, when my mattress was delivered, the driver cut himself and bled on it as he was removing the plastic with a box cutter, which voided my 180-night sleep guarantee. I had to fight for an exchange, and their only apology was a cheap sheet set that ripped after a few uses. I swore I'd never shop there again. Recently, I reluctantly gave them another chance. I told Prasad about my past experience, and he assured me customer service was a priority. That turned out to be false. My delivery was nearly three hours late which interfered with returning to work, and the mattress arrived with a "floor model" tag stapled to it. Unsure if it was used or a mistake, I contacted the store, but Prasad wasn't available, and the staff refused to help. They directed me to customer service instead. After much confusion from the rep, I was instructed to send photos as proof. Upon review of the photos, I was told the wrong mattress had been delivered and needed to be exchanged--costing me another day off work the following week. When the replacement arrived, despite explaining to the delivery team that they needed to bring it into the building via the moving room, they ignored me and brought it through the lobby. They totally disrespected me and my building's rules despite my clear instructions, which got me into trouble with building management. And when I opened the plastic on the replacement mattress, it ALSO had a "floor model" tag, forcing me to go through the process all over again with customer service. Hours later, customer service finally got back to me and claimed it was actually a new mattress that was intended to go to a store as a floor model but since it was new I could keep it. Also, the first mattress had been the same thing! That meant I had wasted time and lost an additional workday for nothing!! I called Prasad to explain everything that had happened. To my shock, he said I was better off with the floor model because manufacturers made floor models better and more sturdy than regular mattresses. THAT was an eye opener!! It means people don't receive the same quality they see in the store!! He also promised to contact head office to request compensation for all the inconvenience I had been caused. BUT I never heard from him again!! Instead, I had to deal with customer service because management refused to deal with the issue. They refused a partial refund or discount, eventually offering a gift card which meant they would make additional sales. They claimed I could use it in-store OR online. That turned out to be false too--Sleep Country gift cards aren't valid for online purchases. Only PayPal and Credit Cards. Between this ordeal and my 2010 experience, I will NEVER shop here or any other Sleep Country again. This company is a complete joke.

We were informed that items on sale do not qualify for deliver. Hmmm. The kindly lent us a measuring tape so we could see if it would fit in our car. It would not. We offered to pay for delivery. They said sorry no can do. They helpfully suggested we could either get a friend with truck to come and get it for us or we could rent a truck. We left without buying the coffee table. To be honest I can't imagine me ever buying anything here. Ever.

After a few months, my wife noticed that what supposed to be stone surface, small chips started to come off, the stone surface was actually plastic chips glued on a wooden backing. She also noticed that paint started to come off the dresser & night table. We called Ashley's customer service for warranty repair, and we spoke with a customer service person named Lilibeth, we tried to explain the situation to her, but without getting into the details, she started claiming that the paint came off because we had spilled solvent onto the top of the dresser, and that was not covered by warranty. We asked to speak with a manager and a lady by the name of Tanya came on the phone, Tanya started telling us that the paint and stone face problems are cosmetic and those would not be covered by warranty. She also said that only structural damage is covered. We really felt betrayed by Ashley, which sold us craps at top price, I would for sure never shop there again.

However, 3 x years ago I spent over $1600 on a Parasol Umbrella and it look great. I took it down and covered ii and stored it in my garage over the winter. The following spring I put it back up and immediately saw the fading on the fabric...which is somewhat understandable. We made it through the season and did get enjoyment from the shade it provided. This year I took the umbrella out and could not believe how the fabric looked. The top ripped on all sides in the middle and the based chipped and fell apart. I went to the store to request a solution and was told the replacement fabric is $600...and a replacement base is $250!. I was advised my warranty is only good for a year so I am out of luck...."but sir, you can buy a new one that we have on sale for only $1300...you may as well just get a new one" I could not believe my ears. I work in the service industry and would be embarrassed to treat my customer this way. I only hope this review sheds light and helps potential customers avoid spending hard earned money at DOT Furniture. This company lacks integrity, customer service, and does not have any loyalty to stand behind the products they sell. Good luck if you do make a purchase from these rip off artists.
