A wide range of feeders and food types are available, and I find their seed to be very clean and of good quality. They have such a wide variety of equipment that at first it's overwhelming to the newcomer, but after speaking with the staff I was able to narrow down my choices. Debbie and team are very friendly people who were glad to welcome me to the hobby since I'm new, and got me started with the right type of equipment based on what kind of birds I wanted to attract. They never made me feel like I needed to buy the most expensive gear or the hottest new gadget, no, they strictly stuck to what works based on what birds I wanted to see. I like that! They never tried to up-sell me on anything! Great people, answered all my questions and offered great tips that work. Now I have a couple of feeders on their pole system, with a simple birth bath, and have attracted regular visitors including cardinals, house finches, goldfinches, mourning doves, sparrows and the occasional starling. The regulars visit my home every single day and I'm quite blessed to be able to enjoy the birds from the comfort of my living room.

Will not recommend to friends after a recent and terrible online/in-store shopping experience…read more Made an online order for a number of items. After placing the order, due to an error in their system, I was told that one of the items was actually out of stock. Fine, no problem. It was disappointing though since the item was part of a matching set, and I was not able to get refunded for the other items. So I picked something else out that was similar and chose to pick up in store. Arrived at the store where my items were ready to be picked up. Got them and left the store. Turned around after 5 minutes cause I looked in the bag and wasn't happy with the quality of that item I had to replace. Store associate wouldn't let me make an exchange for another product, because of store policy, which I get. However, I wasn't told that sales were final in picking up the items. So word of caution to others. Store associate was dismissive and condescending. Disgusting behaviour to say the least. Obviously not the acceptable in any sales role, much less one that caters to personal products. You should train your employees to be more respectful of your customers. On top of that, after returning home, one of the items was damaged. Emailed the store which pointed me to the manufacturer. Stand by your products or don't sell them.

I got a pig-shaped breakfast mould for making pancakes and eggs. It was $2 and I wanted to give it a try. I also got an ice cube tray where the cubes are pineapple-shaped. It was also silicone and was going for a reduced price of $2. As much as I loved the food and kitchen accessories, everything else in the store wasn't as interesting to me. Maybe I have visited too many HomeSense stores with cool items as of late. Other than my two items that I purchased, everything else was okay. I eventually made it to the checkout to pay for my items. I had a cheerful woman who helped me with my transaction. All went well. I'll come back down the road to check out the store some more. I was thrilled to find my two great deals and hope to find more soon. (333)

My friend and I carried it from this store to my apartment, roughly two blocks away. It was that heavy, but it was a minimalistic, practical item that looked good in a tiny space. Over a decade ago, I used to attend musicals in the entertainment district. I would often visit the Umbra store before a show. I got everything from the Bungee to photo frames. To this day, I travel with a Bungee, which stores various US credit cards and currency. I often swap them out with my Canadian ones when I'm am stateside, and vice-versa when I return home. The bungee part has never weakened after all these years. There isn't any parking by this store. I had parked across the street under Shoppers Drug Mart. I walked over to check this store out. It felt the same, except that the top floor is now a clearance section. I was so happy. I love penguins have been a fan of Umbra's penguin liquid soap pump since its inception in 2008. This clearance section had a modern version of the penguin pump dispenser, including an automatic version. These dispensers were 50% off. I got one of each. The only item that I didn't like was a coiled stool. It was not comfortable sitting on it. It was in the clearance section. Only folks who want to replace the coiled top with a comfortable cushion would be inclined to buy one. This store is kind of like a museum. It was fun seeing when items were first introduce by year and how they have endured. The Bungee and penguin pumps are two such items. It was nice seeing jewellery racks and vessels for plants and more. I tend to get inspired sprucing up my place whenever I see Umbra products. Strumba caught my attention, which is Umbra's version of the kalimba. If I didn't own a kalimba already, I would have bought the Strumba. It's a fun, small instrument to play. There's so much coolness at this store. Doorstoppers. Chess sets. Shoe racks. Tipsy bottle openers to match the sipper. I had the nicest man at the checkout. I paid with a credit card. He placed my items in a paper bag with handles and came out of his area to hand it to me. It was such a classy move and was a nice touch. I wished him a great evening. He reciprocated. I left happy with my clearance items. I hope to not wait over a decade to return to this store. Of note, my soap dispensers are awesome. (389)
