Ordered multiple pieces of furniture delivered. Delivery team drove up and dropped off everything at the door without notice. No doorbell, knock, "hello?"...nothing. I was there waiting for them. After hearing the noise, I went out, mentioned they only had to take stuff to the garage (way less work then going to the front door). They complained and took off!! Very helpful kitchen design staff. But lousy inventory management. Was told in early December that back ordered cabinets would arrive in 4-5 weeks. Was then told to expect arrival for two different dates in January. Those dates came and went. Now late March is the expected due date. We canceled our order and now have to figure out a way to return all of the crap we currently have for the project. Huge waste of time. Also not impressed with the flimsy cardboard backs of the cabinets and the metal drawers. And winding through the store maze to arrive in the kitchen area past shoppers who shuffle along like zombies, 4 and 5 abreast, makes me want to pull my hair out. Lowering to one star based on my return experience. Rented a truck from Home Depot as well as packed my car with the IKEA crap. Filled four trolleys at the store and somehow managed to guide them into the returns line. Was passed by multiple staff and not one offered to help. Went to the store and asked an employee if they had any kitchen toy (item # 603.199.72) and the employee (I didn't get his name) didn't bother to check and was so unhelpful and I check on my phone on the Ikea website and it said there was several in stock and so I found another employee name "Shawn" and explain to him that I saw online that there was that item in stock and explained to him the situation and he happily went to double check at the back and Shawn literally made my day and my daughters day. 10 stars for "Shawn" read more

I'm planning on organizing the kitchen pantry by finding jar canisters/plastic dispensers, etc. I found plenty of options here. Items are reasonably priced. Picked up a few things. Love that I'm not breaking the bank while shopping here, all the merchandise is super stylish, top quality. Plenty of options how to decorate each room in your house as you continue walking the store. Something I appreciate. When you get hungry they have a food court to visit. The bottom (last) level is a huge warehouse of everything you've seen throughout the store. This is where you pick up items you like, then check out. During this pandemic prepare to wait to get inside the store , since there's limited capacity. We got there a the hour before the store opened and there was already a line to get in. They offered bottled water to anyone in line since it was a hot day. Not to sure how many people they let in at a time. If you have an idea of what you're going to get, I suggest going online to see if it's available. Most of the popular furniture shows "temporarily unavailable ". It would suck to wait in line and get to the store and see it's out of stock. You can't go through the exit to get inside the store even if you're waiting for someone or you're meeting someone they will make you go through the entrance through the show room. Just have patience when coming during this difficult time. The staff that I encountered were friendly and are doing the best they can. read more

I have purchased many products from Ikea and have been very satisfied with the quality/price/value of the items I've purchased; mostly wardrobe and storage systems. My one star rating relates to Ikea's customer service and their logistic/shipping partner; T Forth: I purchased additional shelves for an existing Ikea Wardrobe. These shelves were not available at the local Ikea store for pickup. So, I opted to pay an additional $49 for delivery. As part of the delivery form on the Ikea website, they offered a delivery details box. In that box, I communicated that the delivery address (a business address) only accepted deliveries M-F, 11am - 5pm Pacific Daylight Time. On Friday, I received an automated message from T Forth, that they would be delivering my order from Ikea on Saturday, April 30. The message stated that I should contact Ikea, if this date/time needed to be rescheduled. As instructed, I contacted Ikea customer service to reschedule delivery within the days/times originally provided on the Ikea website delivery detail box. I asked if they could change the delivery address to my home address so the delivery date/time could remain unchanged. The Ikea Customer Service representative said they couldn't change the delivery address, but they could change the delivery day/time to Wednesday, May 5. In order to be thorough, I asked the Ikea representative for the customer service phone and tracking number for T Forth, which they provided. I then contacted T Forth to inform them of the same. The T Forth representative said they could not change the delivery address and had not received a change of delivery date from Ikea, yet. Today, Monday, May 3, I received an email notice from Ikea that the scheduled delivery for Saturday, April 30 had been unsuccessful, and asked that I contact them to reschedule. I did. After listening to several minutes of pre-recorded messages regarding COVID, store hours, locations, and being repeatedly encouraged to utilize their website to reschedule deliveries (which I attempted, but my order/delivery tracking number couldn't be found) because their customer service agents were experiencing "high call volume and Long wait times", I was connected to a customer service agent within 30 seconds. I was again told by the Ikea customer service person to contact T Forth to reschedule the delivery. Which I did. After listening to several minutes of pre-recorded messages regarding T Forth's outstanding services and being encouraged to visit their website, I was finally connected to a customer service agent. I provided her with my Ikea order # and my T Forth tracking number, and explained the delivery failure and future deliver hour limitations. The T Forth agent said she could not change the delivery addrebss, nor could she limit the hours of delivery to those when the delivery business address provided would be open. She encouraged me to contact Ikea......Stuck in the black hole of Ikea and T Forth. My current options are: 1) Cancel the order with Ikea 2) Hope that T Forth contacts me 30 minutes before delivery and if the Business Center isn't open, I can drive there and receive the package personally. Ugh!!! Clearly, companies are leveraging voice and e-technology, as a way to reduce their customer service expenses. I wonder if in doing so, they consider how well these diverse technologies are coordinated/leveraged and the cost in customer disatisfaction/loss of business when they are not. read more

No respect for people with preexisting conditions concerning COVID. I purchased an On Sale item on Friday 8/7 and was supposed to pick it up " click n pick up" on Saturday 8/8. I received one confirmation email stating not to go down to pick it up untill I received another email stating the order is ready. I never received any email. I called the 800 number Saturday afternoon . It stated that they where behind in online orders and pick up orders and please be patient.. Sunday , no email, so I called and got a customer service rep on Monday 8/10. The CSR stated their system showed that they did not send aNy email, but my order was fulfilled and then put back in stock due it not being picked it up within a 24hr period. She said if I wanted the duvet cover I would have to pay full price plus shipping. I asked to speak to a manager, and that it's not fair I should have to pay full price since this wasn't my fault. I was then told I would have to take my email down to the store and talk to the manager to get the sale price. That she had no way and her systems could not give me the sale price and ship it to me or let me pick it up !! Now .. given the fact of Covid and that I have severe asthma , i told the CSR I do not want to wait in line at the ikea store .. putting my health in danger for an item that I should have been able to just pick up . This wasn't my fault and this is horrible customer service. They offered terrible resolution to an issue that was their fault, and that was to put my health in danger. I am honestly a fan of IKEA, just not this one. We were very spoiled with the Chicago location! Sigh. The store layout here is a weird one and I pity the fool who has to make a return here. I've done it twice; I'd rather have dental work done. The first time took 40 minutes, the second time was 22 minutes. They have barely any seating compared to other locations so if you can't stand a long time (like me) you're in trouble. I ended up sitting on the floor. Then the lady messed up the return and sent the refund to a credit card I never use. (I had to call and have them mail me a physical check and deposit it in my bank, what a hassle) Their selection is also small compared to other IKEA stores I've seen so you might need to order some things online. Checkout is a joke no matter what IKEA you visit so this one *knock on wood* hasn't been SO bad. Taking into account I don't come during prime hours (for a reason!) it could be worse. I would come back just for the food, and yeah I need to buy a new sofa soon. They also have a delivery special price for military, I think it's $29.95 and they do deliver up to Miramar and down near NBSD. Both my college age kiddos are at home and their schools are not holding in person classes so both were in need of desks for the new school semester at home. I ordered 2 desks online and scheduled a contactless pick up from IKEA. When I arrived at IKEA the online pickup area was clearly marked marked easy to access. As soon as I parked my car a employee came over and asked for a confirmation number. Once he had the confirmation number he ran into the store and came back out with 2 large boxes. I opened the side door of my car because the boxes would not fit into the trunk of my car and the employee placed both boxes into my car for me. He had on a mask and I had on a mask also. Horrible customer service! I chose specific curtains because they were $20 off. During check out I did not get the sale price. I only realized this when I went home. I came back a few days later to get my money back but because it was July 4 weekend and COVID the line was insanely long. I decided to come back a few days later. I got there at 9PM (the store closed at 10) as I walked up to the returns line I heard over the radio that returns was now closed due to them closing in an hour. Instead I went in and shopped. By the time I came out there was still a line for returns. I'm glad I didn't waste over an hour waiting in line for $20. The third time I came back the returns line was long again so I went home. Finally I was able to come on Tuesday afternoon the one and only day I don't have work only to find out that they don't want to refund me the $20 because it wasn't within the sale date even though I have a picture taken the day of with the sale price and the receipt. Big companies like this that screw people over especially people that work hard for their money is ridiculous. The fact the manager is so unremorseful and unforgiving for her company's mistake just goes to show what type of person she is. I loved IKEA and always had good things to say about them and their product until now. It blows my mind that managers can't do the risk vs. reward when it comes to situations like this. You would risk losing a customer who spends roughly $2k a year here because of your inability to correct the problem that was your mistake in the first place. Options that I consider when shopping here: - Can I mail/ship it to myself? Would it be worth it? - If desperate to get items to Hawaii I could consider a service that will ship your items in a container across the ocean to my front door (I haven't reached that level yet). - Can I check it in as part of my luggage allowance? I have loved Ikea for a long time now. When my daughter got her first apartment in Texas I was thrilled knowing that I can purchase her living and dining room sets without breaking the bank. Fast forward and she's now married and living in San Diego and needing more furniture and accessories. It's the perfect place to purchase items that will "grow" with your family. You won't be heartbroken when you sell or throw it away because the kid(s) and/or pet(s) have ruined it because you'll know that you didn't pay too much for it. For the most part, her furniture has lasted well and for the price I paid it was worth every penny. Certain things that I love there: 96-108" long curtain panels!! Who knew that finding that length panels would be so hard (at least here in Hawaii it is)? They have a great selection of paired panels for a great price (the one I was looking at was $24.99 each and I was looking to pair it with PB's "sale" price single panel of $46.00 each.). Great curtains for a very do-able price!! Also, I didn't know that Ikea sold fabric. Now you do too! Great option if you're a DIYer who likes to sew. This store is cool... it has a lot of inexpensive furniture and household goods. I actually came here yesterday evening with the wifey. We ended up looking around in the household kitchen goods area and we found a tea pot we liked. The tea pot we had at home broke so we needed another. This morning, I was going to brew a pot of the tea (Cherry Sencha) I got from the Shakespeare Corner Shoppe. I guess we weren't really paying attention because the built in (non-disposable) filter was missing from the tea pot. Since the wife wasn't home and in class I couldn't get a hold of her to find out where she put the receipt. I decided to take a chance, bring the tea pot and hope that my (debit) card I used last night would suffice. I was spending the day with my god daughter and so she accompanied me back to Ikea today. The guy at the Exchanges Returns area was very nice. I didn't have my receipt, but he still was able to give me a store credit so I could replace the tea pot! We were in and out in no time... and since it is a tad warm today my god daughter wanted an ice cream, but not from Ikea because it "tastes funny". She wanted a cone from McDonald's, so that was our next stop. Four stars for good customer service! My god daughter has a plush seal toy that she's been carrying with her everywhere ever since she got it from her cousin a few days ago. I purchased a bed frame (brimnes) and nowhere on the box or in the instructions did it state that it didn't include the central support beam, a KEY PART that the bed frame CANNOT FUNCTION without. I had to make 3 SEPARATE TRIPS to and from IKEA (over an hour there and back) just to get parts for this bedframe which already cost $350. IKEA is cheap Swedish sh**. Once a pan of time I was able to return a frying pan to Ikea by having the associate look up my approximate date of purchase and by providing credit card information - no problems and a new pan was provided which I still own and use. I had purchased 2 mattresses and 2 frames less than 1 year ago. Your typical IKEA store, it has everything that you could possibly need or want when decorating your home. We come here to buy reasonably priced furniture for our home and to also get ideas for future projects. If you've never shopped at IKEA before, all of the big item purchases require you to locate them in their isle and bin downstairs. Be sure to write the location of your product when you're on the show floor and see something you like. Overall this location has a nice flow and is never really too busy. There are a couple of bottlenecks outside of the actual shopping. Their cafeteria was absolutely slow. I went here for lunch (as everyone does) and there was one person serving people and one cashier. For a line of 25+ people, this was absolutely not worth the wait. It took over 25 minutes from start to finish. Another area that needs improvement is their returns & customer service section. At times, this area could be a nightmare. They are on the ticketing system, but with a few workers here and a ton of people either returning an item, getting a refund, or looking for a missing part, it could take a long time waiting to be called. read more

I can honestly say I now know why ppl say don't shop at IKEA. After spending 2-3 hours putting the dresser together that came with the wrong parts and being defective to spending over 45 mins on hold, not to talk to anyone about the issues has been exhausting and disappointing experience. I live about 40 mins from the nearest IKEA so it would be an inconvenience to drive down there. I couldn't even get a representative in the phone to make sure they guarantee the dresser I paid for. Going forward I will spend the extra $150 at a furniture store to get guaranteed quality furniture for my home. I've attached photos of the dresser and it's name along with a picture of what the dresser should look like when it's finished. The other pictures are: 1. The wrong piece for mini drawer and I guess what gives it away is the 1 nob and it not fitting on the track. 2. The defective drawer that sticks out. Which you're probably thinking user error... negative!!! I actually had a friend help put this together and he does this for a living. So thanks IKEA for the horrible and disappointing experience. I only have to have one bad experience to know your products are trash. Also not being able to contact a company when in need and they've done something wrong says a lot about a company.
