I had a really great experience at IKEA. I was there to return a damaged pillow case. It says on the receipt that they don't return linens and after hearing some horror stories about IKEA I was hesitant to even try.....anyway, I decided I would try....There was a person to welcome and direct me at the entrance. He was a very nice man and showed me where to get a number and get a seat while I waited for my number to be called. Way better than standing in line for ages! When I was called the man doing the return, Ron, was very nice and didn't make me feel awkward or worried about returning the product. He gave me the option to get a refund or he could run and get the product for an exchange....great service overall, it exceeded my expectations. read more

DON'T ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE FROM IKEA. Biggest mistake of my life. They delivered the items damaged. I asked them to exchange the damaged items and fortunately they agreed. But they just keep pushing the exchange date back again and again. Every 2-3 days I receive a call from them telling me that the exchange date has been bumped again. They have pushed back the exchangs date 5 times so far. It's been nearly a month and I still haven't received the exchange and why? BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO PAY THE DELIVERY COMPANY!! IKEA is great sent me replacement hardware for free when mine for a loft bed went missing. Would be five stars but for some of the employees. The Richmond store there is this "attitude" from some staff. It would understandable during a busy time and they are frazzled. However to be just chatting with coworkers and literally there are no other customers the snotty attitude is too much. We only have 36million people in Canada (that's 3million less than just the population of California, The population of ALL of Canada would fit into just the city Tokyo, Japan with 2million less than Tokyo's current population of 38million. The city of London has 1/3 of the population of all of Canada). Customer service can make or break a business here. To thrive and survive in Canada (in the age of online shopping) businesses absolutely need repeat customers and customer retention. If a customer is a cranky or rude for no wrong doing(or staff rudeness first) of the staff that is one thing, but to be rude to polite customers that's bad for business. No one wants to shop at a store where even part of the staff have attitudes, are condescending, not helpful, not polite. That's not a fun shopping environment. read more

IKEA is the place I go to if I need to stuff my face with food, while not having to pay a fortune. I'll keep this really short. The quality of their food is OK at best. But factor in the price... it's a better deal than most places. I ordered meatballs, chilli, salad, fries, desserts, drinks, soups, and some more for two people, the bill was less than $20. What more can I say? Of course the food is prepared in advanced, and sometimes you get cold food... but overall a good dining experience. read more

Terrible customer service. After buying a bed, I been waiting 3 hours in pickup area (with 2 kids around) just to hear that somehow it is not possible to pickup item IN STOCK. I was offered free delivery next day morning which I accepted. Later same evening I got call that it is not possible to deliver it in the morning and being rescheduled for the evening delivery. After I inquired with my building and been said that only morning Elevator booking for delivery is possible. I called to IKEA to reschedule for any later day morning time. Waited 1 hour to get an answer. But been said I have to pay for it. So, because of original IKEA FAULT I have to pay more. Good business guys. Just to everyone know - don't accept any apologizes, they will try to charge you more later. read more

Want to save time? 1) Go online and see what you need. 2) Cut in by the cash registers and go directly into the warehouse (what you're not supposed to do, but who cares!) 3) Go to the computers (they need to have more) and see where your item(s) are located. 4) Find your items. Need to see the actual colour or size? Look above the shelves and you will find a display model. 5) Load it on to your cart, pick up some unnecessary hangers, a stuffed animal, maybe a pair of slippers...pay and leave. I have never bought items here for an entire room (and I don't think I will)...mainly a shelf here and there...so this method works for me because I don't want to waste time in the showroom and I loathe shopping! =) Also their scented candles burn for so long...it's pretty amazing. I go to Ikea for only two things, $0.5 hot dogs and $1 frozen yogurt ice-cream. Oh, sometimes I might buy some furniture too, knowing that I have to assemble them in the near future while it lies on the floor for days. Either you love it or hate it, Ikea is the biggest furniture retailer in the world. Ever wonder where the name Ikea comes from? It's an acronym : founder {I}ngvar {K}rampad from village {E}lmtaryd, {A}gunnaryd in Sweden. Or some say Ikea is Swedish for "particle board". I think Ikea stuff is pretty cool and they are favorites of interior designers. Ever seen a showroom from a new condo development that doesn't contain all Ikea fixtures? Ever been to a friends new place without Ikea furniture? I think lots of closet Ikea lovers out there have Ikea showrooms at home. Ikea is a one stop shop for contemporary designs at a resonable price. But, how do they do make us keep coming back? They seem to create a great shopping experience instead of it being a chore. Right at the entrance, where you can drop off your kids at the playroom allowing parents more time to browse. But, as you proceed along the path of showrooms, one touch after another seduces you to spend. Do you really needed that $3.99 Jall organizer? It doesn't matter, you load up on it anyways. Or that $1.99 Omsorg shoe tree? Just toss it in the yellow bag, damn it. You had goals of buying a $50 coffee table and end up on $500 from rugs to glassware. Then you come to the restaurant allowing a breather and encouraging to keep shopping at the warehouse. Finally comes the fun at home, or for me the agony and pain, of assembly with nothing but an Allen wrench and a bag of screws. read more

Had a BAD experience visiting this store. I was on vacation and thought for my birthday id visit this store. So I do, and didn't know the co workers were on strike. So, I arrive and get handed a note explaining why the strike. I observed a guy with a black jacket and sun glasses, filming cars arriving to the store with a mini camcorder. I happened to arrive a little early before the store opened. Finally, at Noon, the doors open. I was so amused on how the store cut some departments and the fact they are closed on Tuesdays and reduced hours, I started to take photos on my iPhone to show my peeps back in California how this store is doing. Little do I know, I realized I was being followed by 3 people! 2 men and 1 women at the beginning of the showroom. I'm assuming they were employees of the store. Either LP or duty managers. Either I continue throughout the store and realize they were still behind me. Everytime I looked at an item, they would stop and talk or pretend they are looking at something. It's when I realized I was being followed. I finally get down to Self-Serve and thought they went their own ways after not seeing them. I head to urinate to the restrooms, when I walk out, there they were waiting for me from a distance pretending they weren't looking at me. So I decided to get the hell out of there. As I'm walking out, the store security start looking at me. I get in the car and take off. Towards the exit of the building I noticed more security looking at me while they were on their devices and little did I know, I saw the same guy at the beginning when I arrived filming me as I leave!!! That right there gave me no warm welcome to Vancouver. In the US, we have no extra security outside the IKEA stores and there are no cameras in showroom or marketplace or metal detectors while I observed at the two IKEAs here in Vancouver. On a rainy Sunday I trekked to Richmond Ikea from the Island, ready for a furniture-buying frenzy. I'd spent hours on the Ikea site, noting model numbers, colours, and taking measurements in my apartment. I even called Visa to alert them to a large purchase imminent. I was loaded for bear. I expected to walk in, confirm my selections, make the purchase, and arrange for Saturday delivery. Oh, how wrong I was. Here's what really happened. The sofa I wanted was out of stock, and I wasn't allowed to pay for it before it arrived. You can't pick your delivery date. Ikea picks it, depending on what day you bought your stuff. Their delivery window is 9am-9pm and no, they can't narrow that down. So be prepared to take a day off work and wait at home for twelve hours. (Ikea's website does not mention any of this) Ikea's suggestion: call the store Tuesday when the sofa was scheduled to arrive, ask them to hold it, then make another three-hour trek to Richmond that night after work, and make the purchase in person. And of course, the sofa's arrival was not guaranteed, meaning I might have to go back the next Tuesday and try again. Assuming the sofa wasn't sold out again. In the worlds of Dr. Evil, riiiiiight. To be fair, the Ikea rep who helped me, Karen, was friendly, knowledgable, and apologetic for all the complications. But I still wasted a full day with almost nothing to show for it but some curtains. I couldn't find any of the smaller items I needed, and the store was so packed with people who apparently only just learned how to walk that morning, I gave up and left. So, Ikea, Instead of spending thousands at your store I spent only fifty bucks. But I guess you're so big and successful, you don't need my money anyway. read more

negative 1000 points for: 1. misinformation or perhaps even disinformation...no information in some areas regarding delivery and assembly option and cost. 2. outsourced customer service line including resolutions dept. cannot hear you in arabic or africa or carribbean countries and really stressfull for both parties esp when cannot understand english and huge lack of training...nothing gets done. i have torepeat myself 6xs. zero assistance. 3. my $4,000+ purchase at ikea? i get 4 hrs on phone and $50 gift card for repeated mistakes and oh by the way we have to pay them $50 if.we decide to take items and then return them after we paid for delivery. 4. ikea and their delivery company did not emailor call to confirm delivery. arman shahin shargh delivery co. delivered our items 1.5 hrs late. 9 to 1pm was the original booked time. we waited from 845am to 230pm in acold unfurnished house. we were told that we will get confirm 8pm night before. we never did. we called 1 day before, night before, told to call 7am bc company is in nyc?? and then told to call later. many calls in...ikea kept calling our home line bothering a very ill senior over 80. We gave them our cell # and yet they and delivery co. Kept calling the house we were Not at. Completely agree with all the other Yelpers about IKEA - especially making sure you don't go on an empty stomach...the hot dogs are my weakness. I ended up strolling in the other day to purchase A photo frame and noticed they had dropped their newest catalogue and ended up coming out with 3 bags - and completely forgot the frame. Two of the shelves on my medium-brown Billy Bookcase have been out of commission because I lost 4 of the Billy Pins that are required to hold it up so I walked over to the Returns department to take a number so I could grab a few spares. BUT instead of having to wait in line they now have a Parts Vending Machine for all you're missing parts. My 30 minute wait time was eliminated and I put in $1 and grabbed my 4 Billy Pins and ran out of there! Pure genius. Oh and the MARKOR coffee table is a perfect fit for my 1 bedroom apartment. IKEA never seizes to surprise and hook me in to their latest product design! Go SWEDES! read more

Nobody really WANTS to go to IKEA. We go because it's the absolute cheapest bottom of the barrel prices, and we delude ourselves into thinking that nobody can tell our new furniture is of correspondingly low quality. People always can, though--it's made of cheap material and cheaply constructed by the shoddiest possible craftsman: you. Save your money for just a little longer, and you can own something that doesn't look shabby after six months and fall apart entirely after twelve. Try Costco furniture--it's just as cheap, ten times as well-made, and you don't have to drive out to the middle of nowhere to get it. Being located in the middle of nowhere is part of IKEA's master plan: it's such a schlep to get there that you can't just walk out empty-handed if they don't have what you want. That also means that should you run into a problem, you're screwed. I am currently left with a partially-assembled media centre sitting in my living room, unable to be completed because they left out four screws. Speaking to multiple people on their phone support, no one was able to have the store simply drop four screws in an express mail envelope. The call centre was unable to even contact the store directly. Their employees are of similar quality to their products. Next time I'm going with my first instinct and waiting until I can afford a nice piece of furniture that will last, and not settling for a cheaply-made, flimsy assemblage of particle board. Next time I will sleep on the floor and eat my meals with my hands before I set foot in IKEA. Also, the food is awful. read more

is it lame that i can spend almost the entire day in Ikea with my friend and have a blast? she is almost completely moved in..getting her last bit of furntiture to complete her home... we had spent about 6 hours of the day wandering the showrooms and was able to check almost everything from her "to buy" list. found some really cute and affordable pieces for her living room (tv stand, coffee table & side table), dining room (dining table & 2 chairs, storage shelving unit), bathroom (full length mirror), bedroom (side table dresser, suede box for towels, garbage bin), and other stuff (long rod for living room drapes, 2 plants, 2 rugs, 2 pillows and 2 cushions). oh, i also found a beautiful big photograph and a smaller set of 3 in a shadow box frame for myself =) after the first 2 hours we took a break and had some dinner at their restaurant. i have to confess, i am quite impressed with their food. i had the fish and chips with their apple pie for dessert. very standard fish and chips..the fries are really good. and the dessert was surprisingly good too! because we had a friend who was going to help pick us up, we were stuck there for at least another few hours...so we went back in for a couple more rounds of cruising the show rooms. we also had an ice cream cone each and a cinnamon bun. (only $1 for the ice cream!! i think every person who came into ikea had one) we ended up with 3 cart fulls by the end, and they were so nice to let us park it by the side of the registers while we shopped some more and waited for our friend. the helpfulness from the staff is incredible. they are easy and quick to find and extremely good with finding items and answering the questions we imposed. everytime i look at their show rooms, i am inspired to get decorating and transforming my house into a masterpiece!! but the minute i leave, the magic of ikea slowly starts to fade. who am i kidding? i am no interior decorator! read more

IKEA is a necessary evil. I tend to go in the backdoor now, knowing exactly what I need and where to find a computer console to get it in the self serve area. The line ups at the new Richmond store are excessively slow and staff feels totally unorganized at times. I like the self checkout option however the machines don't take cash. Weird. What a horrible experience!!! Looked online at my items stock count (large storage unit ) before coming to the store ( 10 in stock updated every 30 mins ) even called to confirm !!! Sooo I arrived at the store ( 2 hour drive ) Looked again at the stock count still said 10 ... went to pick up the pieces for the item ( needed 18 different pieces, got 17 of the pieces and the last piece the main piece wasn't on the shelf . Checked again the stock count 10 ! Even got an employee to check the stock count ...10 but the item couldn't be found What a joke ! 10 is a large number to out of ... clearly staff / management aren't doing there job at evaluating stock by hand and updating it ! You can't always rely on a computer to update it every 30 mins Do your job employees/ manager you wasted my time ! read more

i give one star only because i had too. we placed order on line and the delivery was a nightmare. we scheduled it for specific date and ikea called to indicate they could not accommodate that date due to the area. i rescheduled to a different date that would work for them, took a day off work, and they did not call or show up. again a logged a complaint with ikea customer service and they called to arrange another date that we would be convenient for everyone. before delivery i received three phone calls from their customer service each one giving information that they could not deliver on the second date we arranged. again we sorted it out and arranged another date which was over a month from when we ordered the product but we accommodated and agreed to take another date for delivery. the day prior we received two calls again from ikea indicating it was not going to be delivered on the arranged date and that it would be another two months from that date!. after a very heated conversation with their customer service they provided a different delivery date and we agreed to take another day off to accommodate them. i would not recommend ikea in the further to anyone. their products are particle board crap that can only be put together once and never moved otherwise it falls apart. definitely not worth the hassle of the delivery. read more

I've been to Ikea many times and been thrilled with their furniture, accessories, knick-knacks, etc. - things that I could bring home myself. Indeed, as I write this, I am sitting at a little desk from Ikea, drinking wine out of a glass from Ikea. So, given my positive experience, I decided to buy a mattress and box spring from Ikea - something that would need to be delivered. I went to Ikea having done my research and narrowed my decision down to two mattresses. I went alone, thinking that customer service would be able to help me if needed. Here's where it went wrong: -The woman in the mattress section told me delivery cost $59 for the mattress I was buying. It was $69. -To purchase the mattress, I had to put it on a cart and bring it through the till. Not a big deal, but there was only one of me, so I needed help getting the mattress on the cart. The guy working in the furniture "self-serve" section was blatantly pissed off about having to help me, and told me to "wait over there" while he chatted with his friend. I could hear them. They weren't talking about work. (Tall, skinny, blonde guy with longish, greasy looking hair. Avoid him.) After I "waited over there" for a while, I went back and asked again. *Loooong sigh* he came to help me load the mattresses. -I then proceeded to navigate the cart with the mattress and box spring, alone, to the till. Notice again the one person, one set of eyes challenge. I was clearly struggling, and would have very much appreciated help at this point. -Till closed while I was in line. No explanation. Proceed to move mattress and box spring to another till. -Delivery. Here's where I learn the cost was $10 more than anticipated. BUT, they could deliver after work, between 5 and 9 pm. Great - I'll pay $69 + HST for that. -Day of delivery. 11 am. While I'm at work, I get a call saying they are outside my house with the mattress. The Ikea dispatcher had messed up the order and given it to the delivery guys too early. Of course I can't accept it at this time. I ask "Can they deliver it later?" Maybe. -Maybe!? I called Ikea themselves, and they guarantee that the mattress will be delivered between 5 and 9 pm. -4:55 PM (note: NOT between 5 and 9) - I've rushed home from work to find the delivery guys in my hallway. They've disturbed my building manager to get inside. Here's the thing - I don't blame them. The IKEA DISPATCHERS made them wait outside for 6 hours. I was mortified at having been the cause of this, and angry at Ikea for having such a blatantly we-don't-give-a-f*ck attitude. Clearly, poor customer service and a blatant disrespect towards employees and suppliers is endemic within the organization. Sure, I got my mattress fine. Will I ever buy something big from Ikea again? Not a chance. Overall, it was a terrible experience. read more

I got a new bed by the home delivery service, and I noticed that there was a huge hole in the headboard ... No problem, I called the customer service and they told me that a new bed will be delivered in 2 days, between 5pm and 9pm. So I have to sleep 2 nights on the mattress on the floor while waiting for my bed, great. No compensation was offered by the customer service. Two days later, I left my job one hour earlier to catch the delivery at home and I waited, waited ... Nothing happened. I was not able to reach someone on the phone because it was too late. I was also not able to see my order on the website with the tracking number. Let's go then for a third night on the floor, yeaaah. I still do not know if I will receive my bed one day... We purchased a Pragel countertop from Richmond, BC store only to discover on installation day that it had a 6 inch flaw on the surface. As we had the carpenter on site and a deadline, we had to cut out a large section and butt another piece to it to complete the counter. I now have a large seam with caulking just inches from our sink. We live on Vancouver Island and had the kitchen delivered so had to deal with IKEA by phone. IKEA made it very difficult to register a complaint: many 20-minute wait phone calls, e-mails etc. and about 7 weeks later IKEA decided to refund us for only PART of the cost. Customer service in Montreal was rude and challenged me about the validity of my claim. I was left feeling humiliated and ripped off. Absolutely shocking service. Furthermore, our carpenter was appalled by the thinness of the countertop material, and the chip board used on the interior. One little knife cut and the interior will be exposed to water. read more

I warn anyone wanting to use Ikea's delivery and assembly service or anyone buying furniture from Ikea. I had a delivery scheduled for Wednesday, they knowingly sent damaged items which could not be assembled. (It's all logged in the manifest) After a few hours on the phone with the worse customer service I have ever experienced (Stacey, I am mean you) I got a call two days later from Stacey's manager wondering why I didn't speak with her in the first place. (Stacey refused to put me through, that's why) She very politely apologized for all their mistakes, accepted that their service had been negligent and careless, was dumbfounded when she confirmed the warehouse had knowingly sent damaged items, and contacted the delivery and assembly company to ensure I would get my items ready on Saturday between 9AM and 1PM. I begrudgingly agreed; not wanting to waste another half day... but I wanted to get this over with. Well... It's Saturday, 6PM. I have been on the phone all day with both the delivery company and Ikea. At four different times I have received complete assurance that my items were loaded and on their way. Both companies have been lying to me to pass the blame to one another. This is the second day I have wasted, had to cancel all my appointments and have been on the phone the whole day. Just received a completely disinterested call from the delivery company announcing that my deliver "this time for sure... but really, really for sure this time" is going to happen tomorrow. Claudia, the Ikea representative swore she would call right after 5 to make sure everything went according to plan. You guys want to guess? No, she didn't call. If you are always at home and don't care about the most basic service or losing a few days to have cheap furniture delivered by all means use Ikea. If your time is worth anything, do yourself a favour and spend your money elsewhere. Clearly a company this big doesn't give a rat's ass about one customer's satisfaction, even if you spend a few thousand dollars. Buyer beware. read more

Worst shopping experience EVER, with the exception of the time I got caught in a (fairly half-assed) robbery in a Cotton Ginny. Except in this case, it's the store's fault. I drove to the new Richmond IKEA and got completely lost in the massive traffic jam in the parking lot, where a sign saying "parking this way" directed me into a one-way-only area - and, dutifully following their arrow, I was going the wrong way. I tried to get out of the way of the on-coming traffic, basically having to drive over a curb-size bump that smashed the bottom of my car. (It's still running, and hopefully will continue to do so.) I was then stuck in a near dead-end, but managed to squeeze past (with about 1/2 cm to spare) a van that had been parked in such a way as to block the way out . I finally park somewhere waaaaay out in the old parking lot. When I get into the new building, I am completely lost. If the old IKEA felt like an exitless conveyor belt of living-room/dining-room/bedroom/living-room/dining-room/bedroom, at least I knew that maze - the new store is twice as difficult to navigate and feels like a slightly upgraded Costco. I had originally intended on picking up a specific item ( a duvet set), having a bite to eat and generally drifting around, impulsively buying crap I don't need. (They always have made more money off me than I intended to spend.) I eventually did find the bedding area, but not the item I wanted, and so I just quit in disgust and left. Stylish, trendy, Ikea is one of the largest furniture stores in town originated from Sweden. I find that a lot of their styles are quite suitable for the younger generation living in condos. The store basically sells any piece of furniture that you may need in a home ranging from couches, islands, stove, ovens, home decor, candles, picture frames, lighting and the list goes on endlessly. Their prices are one of the cheapest considering their quality is not bad. The reason why their stuff is cheaper than others because you literally have to do everything yourself: from picking up the pieces whether its a bed or shoe rack at the warehouse downstairs to assembling it yourself. They do deliver if you are unable to bring them home yourself and it'll cost you 75$. If you are too lazy to assemble the parts yourself, you can also book someone to go to your house to do it for another fee. However the downside is they don't usually deliver and assemble at the same day unless you really plan ahead and timing is not an issue. Make sure to check out their clearance section (seasonal items, slightly damaged or display pieces) at the lower left corner of downstairs. Their cafeteria is OK selling hot dogs, frozen yogurt, pizzas, cinnamon buns at a low price and I usually just grab a hot dog combo when i'm there to browse. Right beside the downstairs cafeteria is the snacks and food items from Sweden which is pretty neat. They also have a "nicer" cafeteria upstairs as well selling pastas and meatballs etc. Large parking lot available. read more

My girlfriend and I stopped into their cafeteria to try their plant-based meatballs which we had heard about, and as vegans we are always willing to support companies going in the right direction. We were already disappointed to find out that their plant-based meatball meal comes with mashed potatoes made with dairy milk, which by definition does not make the meal plant-based. We substituted that for rice and split an order of 8 plant-based meatballs. The first couple I had were quite good and as I was chewing the third one, something was off. I was more than halfway through when I noticed a distinctly meaty and fatty taste and heaviness, along with a different texture. I ate almost the entire thing before noticing and spitting it out. I tried the fourth one just to make sure and sure enough, the fourth one tasted just like the previous plant-based meatballs. Whether through incompetence or maliciousness, Ikea had given us an animal flesh meatball along with the plant-based ones. This reflects a general lack of standards and food safety measures. Where you walk in, planning on just getting one Ektorp sofa or Poäng armchair...and then you walk out, 6 hours later with a your sofa and armchair, but also with a billy bookcase and more pillows, picture frames and tea lights then you could shake a stick at! Thank you Ikea for not having a location on Vancouver Island. I'll need another job should one ever open. I love the prices and the showrooms. I love how everything. more or less, fits into a compact car for the trek back to the ferry. I love those sweet smelling candles and I love all the unique kitchen wares. And so on and so forth...Oh, I am so grateful BC Ferries charges insane prices for a boat ride. read more

The older I get the less I like ikea. They have reserved parking spots for handicap, family and hybrid vehicles. Interesting.

I like the store, but the servicing and staff knowledge has gone way downhill since the reopening. With the current labour dispute, I have curtains and rods and sheets (unopened, I know better) sitting at home waiting for that one magical day when the return lines open and half of Richmond end up in line there. How is shutting down their entire Returns line even a practice? After waiting months I might just have to trek all the way to Coquitlam to make a return, but that is just not a viable option for many people. read more

While their Bernhard leather dining chair is sleek and skinny, its pricing is unbelievably steep at $189 each. So we ended up procuring them from the as-is section for (only) 30% off regular. By the way, even though stock for certain items might reach low levels towards the end of the day, some of them do get replenished overnight. Case in point: Skogsta bench. read more

*Three and a Half Stars* Fan of the bookshelves - great modular system. Inexpensive. Recently purchased a leather couch and footstool from them. We opted to rent our own truck and take delivery ourselves rather than use their service ($75) or use their suggested rental service. We spent a few hours going over the various couch types; reviewing configurations and sizing, checking the comfortability and establishing availability. When it came down to it we ultimately chose a couch that wasn't one we'd shortlisted - it was just a new addition to their inventory. All in all a decent shopping experience - no over enthusiastic sales people harrassed us while we were exploring our options. And no one seemed to mind me trying out a couch in the fashion I intend to use it: lying down with my head in my honey's lap, ready to watch tv or eyelid theatre. :-) read more

Had ordered a bed & a mattress to be delivered but the woman who took down my details messed up with the date! She was so angry about god knows what! My things never showed up & when I called the so called "after sales" department, they had NO idea about where my stuff was even after I gave them all the details! VERY inefficient people & incompetent fools are running the Richmond branch! Even the sales people in the stores were very unhelpful and rude! They sat in the corner gossiping rather than helping the customers. When you approach them with a question they had this look in their face as if to say "why the heck you're disturbing! VERY VERY disappointing! As I write this review I'm on hold for an hour plus! Never am I ever going back to this store. Will also warn my family & friends about it. Richmond Ikea you guys suk! WARNING: Do not order online from IKEA! We placed an order with IKEA a week ago, and all the large furniture items were not in the delivery truck. The driver told us that the Richmond store did not have them available and that the store would contact us with another delivery date. It was impossible to get through by phone and IKEA is currently not offering email support. I had to contact the delivery company to get IKEA to call me. When the customer service rep got in touch 2 days later, they told me they would have to trace the missing items in store before they could provide a refund for the missing items, even though their delivery company reported that the items were missing and took a photo of what they delivered as evidence. Basically, they lost the items and will not refund us until they find them. They also would not refund the $50 delivery fee even though the large items for which we needed delivery never arrived. This is the first and last time I ordered online from IKEA. No other online business operates this way! IKEA needs a more reliable tracking system for its online orders so that it's customers do not bear the brunt of their mistakes. Worst online shopping experience ever. read more

Wow, the original and still the best Ikea in BC. Why is it still the best? Because it's a smaller than the new Coquitlam Ikea which is much bigger but what's the point? The Richmond Ikea seems to have better service and finding items is easier than the one at Coquitlam. read more
