IKEA - Furniture Stores Near Me - Norfolk, Virginia

Ikea is where to go for a fun experience, when you want to buy some inexpensive furniture and more. The salespeople are generally knowledgeable and the selection of items is huge. Everything from sofas to bedding, closet organization- high chairs, lamps to plants. When our kids were little, it was a great place to go on a rainy weekend. It's very child friendly, lots to see, cheap eats. Don't forget to buy tea candles! read more

Put in an online order at 11 am and its 6 PM still waiting for a confirmation to pick up my order. I only ordered 6 items... This Ikea takes forever to finish my order. I would've just drove to the store and buy my stuff if I knew it was going to take 8 hours to just put an order together. IKEA products are trash and breaks within 3 months anyways. I want my money back. read more

I've been going to this ikea since they opened - the showroom upstairs IS very nice and put together, but my problem with this store is they never have anything in stock, and I'm not just talking about post Covid-19 outbreak in March/April. They didn't have anything in stock prior to that, and especially not now. My other big issue is Reina in the returns. There are signs all over the walls in ikea that say if you don't like you item you have 365 days to return the item, so why does Reina act like this store is called "Reina's furniture store of Norfolk" and not IKEA? It's really lame how hard of a time Reina in particular gives the customer when trying to return an item. It's lame. I've had so many issues with this store and I want to like it so I keep going back, but Reina's attitude was the last straw for me. read more

I'm so happy we finally have an Ikea in our area. The staff were super helpful on our first trip there and almost everything is reasonably priced. I vlogged my trip here: https://youtu.be/8vdrf_C91to read more

IKEA - Smiling in the IKEA parking lot - Furniture Stores Near Me - Norfolk, Virginia

I usually enjoy my visits to IKEA. I get a lot of decor inspiration here. I came in to return some items and after waiting in the front of the line for about 5 minutes, a young lady name Char'Mia walks up to a register without greeting me with hello, screams, "Next!" I walk up to the counter and she says, Receipt?!" The interaction was very dry and impersonal. Almost felt like I was dealing with a robot. Very unpleasant and awkward experience. read more

I bought a Bedframe it was all grey can't remember the name of it ! I get to the store the employee is telling me I need all these parts except the most important one ! I get home at 7:50 pm and it took me all the way until 4 am to almost be done just to find out I'm missing a beam that goes north to south of the bed . At that point I was done and the instructions don't even have words just pictures ! You'll do better going somewhere else and not waste your money on these products ! read more

I got my bed my desk and dresser here love them definitely wanna buy more stufff here

I forgot to write this review, but I bought my tv stand from Ikea. IKEA is like a mall for things strictly for your home. Makes things incredibly easier to find, and the building it self is not hard to find and navigate through once in. Staff is straight from Olympus, efficient, and very helpful. I will be coming back here for more home items. read more

Standing outside of a store that creates lines outside the store still makes zero sense for me when you have everyone standing literally on top of each other side in the hot weather as if I'm waiting online at a theme park this procedure makes zero sense to me read more

Love IKEA so much butttt I spent about $7k here and they forgot to to give me a dresser (I used the click & collect) Next morning came back to let them know & they pretty much in their words called me a liar! My family & myself put together all of our items, we know we didn't receive the item! Again, IKEA were assholes. I wouldn't come all the way back, driving 45 minutes if we had it at home. Although I should've checked to make sure all times were there, but the girl that helped me assured me everything was there. Then They informed me they are checking their security cameras to see which boxes were given. Are you kidding me!?! I wasted a whole Sunday morning and afternoon dealing with this, while they are the ones that were in the wrong!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Well...few days later after putting our stuff together, we are now missing a $900 table AND several other items! GET IT RIGHT! Went through an even worse experience with the manager: here is just a few things she had said to me: "Well it's your word against all of IKEA, and you think your going to win " "you will wait here hours until we go through security cameras again" "what makes you think we would mess up, YOU the customer messed up by not checking to make sure we gave you everything" I asked her to check their inventory & she will see there are extra items. She told me that IKEA does not check inventory, they have too many items..DO YOU SEE TTHIS WAREHOUSE"!?! I'm so PISSED! read more

I love that IKEA is finally closer rather than driving 2.5 hours away to DC! This IKEA is easy to walk through, loads of displays and they change frequently. I haven't experienced any issues while shopping or communicating with employees to find a specific piece of furniture. read more

I love Ikea's products in general, because they're affordable and functional, and I can feel the spirit of helpfulness in everything they make and the way their stores are designed. I hope it's a newness thing, as this location is still very new, but checkout and returns are not particularly efficient. It's a marked difference from the promoted culture, and broke the experience for me three times in a row. Parking is ample, and there is a garage with a roof, but does not connect to the main building, so you will have to be careful in the rain. Many, many loading zone parking spots for loading your new furniture! read more

The worst for pickups and everyone that works there that I talked to is rude and unwilling to help. Never going back.

So excited that IKEA has a location in Norfolk! With several colleges in the area, IKEA is great for all the essentials to get you started. Prices are affordable and the store is well organized to find everything you need! read more

I was very impressed by the new IKEA store in Norfolk. It is clean, well attended, and beautiful. Their furniture and merchandise is useful and funcional at a low cost. I was disappointed to find out that a plant stand I had my eye on was out of stock and was upset to find that they wouldn't sell me one of their display stands. Other than that I loved it! read more

Nice place to shop with decent value. Glad they're here finally. What else today? Meatballs are ok.

Good, affordable furniture. The biggest drawback is once you go in you have to be ready to be on your feet and you've dedicated yourself to walk wing through the entire store. ////// another trip, if you think the lines at Walmart are bad wait until you get to the featured screaming baby section of this place after being on your feet for two hours to discover that there are two cashiers for the forty people in the line. read more

1.0 star rating This was my first visit to this Ikea. It appears as if Ikea did not take the time to properly train their staff. Some of the Norfolk staff members are rude. If I am going to get that type of service, I might as well shop anywhere else. The showroom was nice to walk through, however I don't think I'll return as the rude staff made me feel unwelcome on my first visit when just trying to look around the entire store. Very disappointing. read more

Omg this was a great day. We stayed in Ikea for almost 4 hours and still didn't stop in all the sections. Didn't buy in home goods but we did end up having dinner here which was really good my picky 4 year old ate everything yes all the veggies. I like this location alot and I do plan to come back. read more

One can acquire wonderful inspiration and decorating ideas from visiting the showroom. Many products are high quality and worth the time spent assembling. HOWEVER, customer service is absolutely terrible. If you buy anything here, make sure you open all boxes, inspect every item for damage, read the instructions and inventory what you need for assembly, BEFORE driving home with the items. I made a large purchase with my Projekt card a few weeks ago, got home and found a large kitchen package to be missing the majority of items and all hardware required for assembly. Not only that but the item I did receive had clearly been opened, used, returned and resold to me. This item should have been marked down and sold "as-is". I called the 1-888-customer service number to open a claim. They keep no records of purchases through their credit card. So, I had to email them photos of my receipt. After a week of them ignoring my emails and requests for them to call me, I called the store only to be disrespected by crew members. After two weeks of this back and forth trying to find a resolution, I finally called and found they had shipped my missing items, along with a FIFTY dollar gift card. FIFTY dollars off of a $600+tax item that had been previously used. Never again will I trust them with my money and I've told all my friends, coworkers and family of my experience. read more

This place is humongous! There are so many options, it's so hard to choose. The products are great and long lasting. Their policy of returning an item within 365 days is superb. I would definitely recommend IKEA to friends and family. read more

I hate to be the one to say this in a sea of positive reviews but I was disappointed with my visit recently. I am an Ikea lover and was so excited for the new location. We came in on a rainy late Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too particularly busy and we were grateful there was ample parking. The cafe line for food was ridiculously long. And it moved very very slowly. It definitely doesn't run like a well oiled machine like the one in Woodbridge. Lots of confusion is the way I can describe it. For instance, our meal came with a complimentary soup (2 kinds to choose from). However, we wouldn't know it unless we watched the tv screens very carefully as it scrolled through different images. No one tells you and there's no set sign telling you that info. And when we went to go get a bowl of soup, one of the soup options was completely empty. I also observed people being confused as to how they were supposed to get their drinks. Again, confusion because of the lack of staff working in the food area. As far as the showroom goes, the employees were very friendly and helpful. I do wish that they had more kitchen options to showcase. There were only a few to admire. read more

I've been here four times now and I had nothing but great experiences. There always seem to be someone around to help assist and the staff seem so friendly. I've ate at the food court twice and the food is always delicious. My only con is their condiments are never filled. But I can't stop visiting lol read more

Great location. The store is always clean and fully staffed. Couldn't ask for better considering the old days closest one of these was in Richmond and now I barely have to travel down the road. Customer service is pretty hit or miss. We purchased a couch and it did not have all of the hardware we needed to assemble it. We drove to Ikea and asked about it. First of all the young lady helped me told me that I was wrong. "It's in there." Were her exact words. She went on about how ikea puts it inside the couch and that we need to check inside, etc. Of course we had already made sure that we did not have the parts before DRIVING all the way there. We also tried to call first. She directed us to another young lady how was anxiously tapping her pen as we approached. She was acting very impatient as I explained her what I needed. She order the parts but her attitude was terrible the entire time. We get the parts then while assembling it, the couch breaks(the particle board appeared to be weak). We tried calling and never got through to anyone. The phone rings and rings and then disconnects. We drove to ikea to figure out how to exchange the item. The young ladies that "helped" us came off as very unfriendly. They told us we just need to bring it in. The couch was out of stock. So, she "checked" to see when they would have more and said tomorrow they would have some. Fast forward to today: We squeeze the couch into our tiny car(we originally had it delivered) and bring it inside. Today the ladies that helped us were much more friendly and helpful. We returned the couch for a store credit because we wanted to buy the same couch again. Then, she checks the stock and they don't have any. IKEA isn't expecting any until Thursday. My husband is pissed. This process could have been much smoother and wasn't helped by the first 4 young ladies we encountered. The last 2 women were kind and actually empathized with us for our trouble. Now, we're waiting for the couch to come in and our family of 5 has nothing to sit on. What a hassle! read more

Chief of police, Boone, said that was not where the shooting happened in his briefing day before yesterday. It wasn't reported correctly by the local news. Imagine that. I just placed an order for pick up. They don't tell you until AFTER your order is completed that the order must be picked up within 24 hours, or they restock the item and refund your money MINUS taxes. That's VERY irritating considering it's Labor Day weekend. So, the order won't be ready until after 5 p.m. on Sunday and has to be picked by tomorrow. Then, when I called the customer service number, they're soooooo swamped with calls that they can't answer and to call back later. Well, first, I call BS. Second, how do I rectify the problem if no one is available? Hmmm, not the easiest purchase. read more

Wow. This IKEA experience in Norfolk VA will go down as the WORST customer service experience of my life. As we know most businesses require masks. Although this IKEA has designated its employees to be mask nazis, over serving the customers. I wore and mask over my mouth but due to a legitimate medical issue could not cover my nose. An employee yelled at me from across the room to cover my nose with my mask. When I approached her so she could hear me without shouting she then began to back away from me like I had the plague. She then told me I had to turn around and walk all the way back to the entrance to obtain a "blue wrist band" to indicate that I have a medical condition. Might as well have been the Star of David considering the way she treated me. Not any offer to go get a wrist band for me, not any offer to help me, but instead treated me like filth. IKEA- if you're employees are that terrified to be back at work then consider hiring people who understand how to speak to other human beings in an appropriate manner. Please reconsider your discriminatory practices of micro managing how people wear their face coverings, and making those with medical conditions wear a blue wrist band. Btw, the employee who put the wrist band on me put it on so tightly that I ended up just leaving the store prematurely due to how disturbed and uncomfortable I was. It's beyond belief that you would have ikea staff treating customers in such a derogatory manner. read more
