I have been to this ikea for several years ever since I was a little kid and we always like to go check out the beds and other areas I even remember getting into one bed and falling asleep. The only reason I give this less stars then I normally do is because of many things. 1. The bathroom is as duty and messy as any gas station in New York 2. Meatballs are way overpriced for what they are, food good but not worth it for what it used to be 3. Like I said the food was good but when it makes you feel like you just eat at Waffle House then maybe its a concern, I don't know if its how many meatballs we ordered but still it felt off in my stomach Once a great ikea with a well priced meatballs and a children play area. No play area for kids anywhere anymore, food overpriced and product over priced aswell Get it together ikea come on now

Once you walk in to the store they have you. The store is huge and you literally have to walk through the whole store to get to the cashier. Great concept, we went in just to look and ended up purchasing several items as we walked the whole store to get out. They have some really nice things and we are looking to furnish our home but it can be overwhelming.

Sooooo I know most review the furniture but I went on important food business after leaving the train station lol honestly it's a classic! The meatball are delicious the price was great and im still dreaming of the sauce! It was a great dinner at a low price!

Placed on online order and picked it up. Made it very convenient because it was a larger item. Signs are located in the parking lot to guide you to the pickup spot which is on the side of the store. Only drawback was even though I was the only person picking up, it took about 10 minutes to come out.

Who doesn't love getting to try out a show room (or snooping on fictional people?), seeing a variety of kitchens at once, getting to dig through bins of discounted goods, and noshing a decent meal for a decent price? Or grabbing an ice cream on your way out? IKEA is a destination, not a store. I still remember opening day years ago when they gave out Poang chairs. Sometimes your goods says they are in, but the shelf is empty (argh, give it to an employee if you don't want to put it back!). However, there are associates willing to help find what you like (thank you Ruby and Sarah!). The bistro was closed during our weekday trip, so no treating my girl to a cone of dollar fro-yo or a cinnamon bun, but the values make the IKEA trip fun nonetheless. Waiting for furniture orders by the customer service counter is not so fun, sorry, but I found out Ruby and Sarah were willing to help their guests after another employee refused to remove 1 of the five pitchers in their display (please, just one!!!!). It's not a perfect place, but fun furniture, cardboard recycling right outside the exit, and treasure hunting for random goods make it a fun destination. August 2021, New Haven says you need to wear masks indoors regardless for vaccination status, so please do. Hopefully everyone does and Smalland can reopen again soon.

IKEA is a store that will satisfy your home shopping needs. It's a massive store, and there is just one here in Connecticut. My dishwasher died two years ago, I wanted to find one that wouldn't break the bank, I went to IKEA and found a nice one for $250. It's basic and it's still running strong. At IKEA you'll find a wide range of anything and everything for your home. My TV stand came from there, I had to assemble it, it fits the style of my living room perfectly. The price will reflect the depending on the construction of the items. You can find a genuine leather couch, and microfiber couch, and all the materials in between. Their display rooms are fun to walk through and always give me ideas or inspiration, on how to style a room or what piece to add in. They have a very busy cafeteria, where you can enjoy a variety of food. With their "family card" you can enjoy a coffee on the house, to give you a boost of energy for shopping. Their family card will also get you 5% off to anything in the store, and that will easily add up. Be sure to arrive with a spacious car.

If you are looking for something inexpensive this is the place to be. They have a large collection of home decor and home goods that you can afford and won't break your bank. My reason for a 5 star rating was the service that I was provided from one of the floor managers named Deana. She was phenomenal, professional, and followed up by providing me with an update even after the store was closed with instructions what I need to do the following day. I have purchased things here for my home and they are of fair quality for the price you paid. My mom and wife loves the store and never walk out with out a shopping cart loaded. Sign up for their rewards and there may be a sign on bonus and they send you a gift for your birthday too.

Does this location have mobility shopping carts for people who are unable to walk?

    Yes they have motorized carts!

I would like to know just when Ikea opened in New Haven. Any one have an idea?

New Haven IKEA opened about 2004-2005. The first 70 or so people in the opening line got a free Poang chair!

Torrco was recommended to me for plumbing supplies by a contractor that I know. When we began…read morerenovations on my kitchen in early December, my wife and I went to Torrco to pick out and purchase all of the plumbing fixtures for our new kitchen. We were helped in the store by Evelyn Zepeda, and ended up purchasing thousands of dollars worth of products from Torrco that day, including a $1,200.00 Rohl Faucet. The items were not in stock and had to be ordered, but that was fine, as the kitchen renovation was just beginning, and it would be weeks, if not months before they were needed. Eventually the items were delivered, and they were installed in the new kitchen some time in February. The kitchen renovation was completed in mid-March, and we began to use the kitchen and faucet. Within a week or so, we began to notice that the handle was sticking and binding. Shortly after this, we discovered that there was an o-ring around the handle that was pinched and causing the handle to bind. I called Torrco to inform them that the faucet was defective, and was told that I could ONLY speak to Evelyn about the issue as she was our salesperson. Evelyn, however, was unavailable the first few times that I called. Eventually, I spoke with Evelyn, and she requested that I take pictures of the problem and send them to her. This was done on April 19, 2023, and Evelyn confirmed receipt on April 20,2023 stating that she would forward them to the manufacturer and get back to me. I received no response from Evelyn until I requested an update on May 9, 2023. Evelyn responded almost immediately and stated "Yes, they said that the escutcheon just needs to be untightened and that o-ring put back into place. It should be an easy fix, probably then they installed it was tightened to much. Let me know how it goes." I responded to Evelyn indicating to her that the faucet handle was not assembled by me or my plumber, but by the manufacturer. I also reminded her that I am not a plumber, nor do I know what an "escutcheon" is, and that I just paid $1,200 for a faucet that I expected to be of high quality, and didn't think that I'd have to repair a brand new faucet myself, or hire a plumber to repair a brand new faucet. This email went unanswered. I reached out to Evelyn again on May 16, 2023 asking for a response. Evelyn stated "I followed up with them today, as the tech support got back to me with the answer I provided to you. They said that is not something that needs to be replace it need to be untightened, I will let you know at soon they get back to me." I again mentioned to Evelyn that there was obviously a defect with the faucet, and that I should not be held responsible for repairing this. Evelyn responded on May 18, 2023 and stated "I complete understand, I reach out to them asking for a different solution. They sent it to tech support, once they get back to me I will let you know." Weeks went by, and I received no communication from Evelyn. At this point, the o-ring had now completely fallen out of the faucet, and the handle has been loose and jiggly as a result. In mid-June, my wife went to the store and spoke to Evelyn directly, asking for a solution to the issue. Evelyn did not offer any additional information, but told my wife that she would follow up with me. As of today, August 18,2023 I have received no response from Evelyn. As I have received nothing further from Evelyn, and did not want to spend even more money to hire a plumber, I decided to take Evelyn's suggestion and attempt to repair the faucet myself. While attempting to "loosen the escutcheon," I managed to peel the matte black finish off of the faucet. So now, after paying $1,200 for a faucet, being denied warranty coverage on a brand new faucet and being told to repair it myself, I am now left with a faucet that is still not repaired, but also damaged. If Torrco and Evelyn continue to refuse to stand behind their products, I am going to be forced to purchase replacement parts for a brand new faucet, and hire a plumber to install them. I am absolutely disgusted with the awful service that I have received. My wife and I feel as though, once they took our money, they no longer wanted to be bothered with us.

My initial design ideas were made better with their expertise and visually my kitchen looks exactly as I'd hoped. The work done by plumbers, electricians, painters, and all sorts of other specialist companies is top notch. What is well below expectations is the project oversight, attention to detail, customer service, and communication. I paid a premium price for low quality project management and two out of four major appliances being limited function to non-functional on the day they called the project "Majority of Work Complete". Venting work was needed outside, for a project taking place in the winter, and they saved the work for the last week of the project when adverse weather conditions prevented it from being done. The week prior I asked why the work wasn't even on the schedule and they assured me that they had it under control and the work would be completed on time. Apparently not consulting the weather forecast for an outdoor weather dependent project. Weather is beyond their control. Planning for weather to be beyond your control is what a good project manager does. But at least I can use the stove, as long as I don't burn anything I'm cooking or care whether my whole house smells like the kitchen. The brand new dishwasher is completely non-functional, doesn't even turn on. There were many sink elements in my project plan, which they were aware of when measuring for the very nice very expensive custom cabinets. Yet when I pull the faucet nozzle extension the under sink trash can gets knocked off track. I could remove the under sink trash can and solve that problem, but the reason I paid for custom cabinets including the under sink trash cans is there is no room for trash cans in my small kitchen. I wrongly assumed their measurements would account for the needed room for all the elements in the plan. When I expressed concern about the lack of oversight on the project and lack of care with my installs I was told to enjoy my beautiful kitchen. So if you're looking for a stunning kitchen that doesn't function, go with these guys without worry. If you're looking for a beautiful kitchen that also works, think twice.

After checking with family and friends, we contacted Covenant Kitchens & Baths as our first choice…read moreto discuss renovating our kitchen, mudroom & laundry room in our 100+ year old family home. The kitchen had very little counter space and outdated electrical, but we believed it was a difficult room to do much with as it had five doors and three windows which greatly limited our options. It had been last reno'd in 1990 but that was just a cosmetic reno, i.e., paint, flooring, cabinets & countertop. We met with Gerard and he agreed to take on our project. We spent about three months on design work with him and his design team, Pam & Emily, which, based on their input, changed very significantly from our original idea. The original layout was very inefficient because the cook prep area was spread over the entire space, and to get from the mudroom to the rest of the house, you had to walk through the prep area. They were able to offer suggestions to essentially flip the design of the space 180 degrees which allowed for the installation of a traditional U-shaped counter as well as the separation of the cook prep and dining areas. Since the walls had not been down in our lifetime, we had no real idea what we'd find although we expected that there were going to be things that would need attention. We found that there were rotted posts near what were originally exterior doors and floor joists. The fieldstone foundation was caving in as it only had mortar on the outside. There were structural issues with the second-floor landing (hidden above the ceiling) and lack of collar ties on the roof structure. The Covenant team estimated the job to take 12-14 weeks. We moved in and started using the space again right at the 14-week mark. Every weekday for 14 weeks, including a small number of Saturdays, there was at least one contractor at the house doing something. Anyone that has ever been involved with construction knows that is amazing scheduling. They easily could have lost at least a week or two deciding on how to resolve the foundation issue and then lining up the sub-contractors needed. The end result has been transformative. The space looks larger than it was due to having vaulted the ceiling and the organization of space. A triple window over the sink now looks out to the yard, brightening up the space. The kitchen is much more functional than it previously was. The attention to detail that they have is really amazing. They are able to visualize what the space will look like when finished. They try to incorporate the style of what they are designing into the rest of the home so that it looks new and modern but doesn't clash if you have an older home such as we do. The suggestions that they made for colors and finishes worked out very well. We'd very highly recommend them to anyone considering kitchen or bath work; as a matter of fact, we have spoken with several people who plan to contact them about upcoming projects.

I was told that a replacement unit would take at least six weeks to arrive. Not choosing to wait I repaired the defects and had to negotiate a partial refund directly with the manufacturer. Lesson learned: Just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's well made. On two occasions I picked up multiple products at the loading dock. After an exhaustive one-by-one check I found that several items on the delivery ticket were not in fact provided. Lesson learned: Check everything carefully or you will make multiple trips back to the store. Most disappointing, we purchased an undermount sink for the vanity top. After a lengthy discussion with the sales rep. regarding the exact size we wanted, the sink was delivered to us and we sent it to the granite fabricator. When the countertop was delivered and the sink installed, we learned that the sink was smaller than the unit we discussed and selected. We had to purchase a new sink and fabricate a second countertop for $870. Plimpton accepted zero responsibility for the error and would not even refund the $151 for the incorrect unused sink because we did not have the original packaging. (This is after spending more than $12,000 on bathroom fixtures.) Lesson learned: Do not trust that what you communicated and selected will be accurately ordered and delivered. Check everything carefully. We will not use Plimpton for our remaining fixtures, and for the reasons above we do not recommend them to prospective customers.

Without this guidance from Lisa, we would have been quite overwhelmed. Plus, we would have wasted LOTS of time. Within 45 minutes, we had chosen our fixtures, picked out a sink and found a perfect replacement for our kitchen faucet. The final item hadn't even been part of our initial objective, but the shopping experience was so well guided that it seemed like the perfect time to check that long ignored task off. Ours was a relatively small order but Lisa treated it as though it was the most important part of her day. She followed up with email links to the products we had ordered and escorted us next door to find a countertop. During that process, Lisa worked seamlessly with the stone fabricator by supplying dimensions and other pertinent specifications. Highly recommended.
