Absolutely the best place for breakfast! I was not expecting such a high level of service and such delicious food. The staff was welcoming and made sure we had a clean table right away. I ordered the Split Decision Breakfast, and I have to say--it was the best French toast I've ever had. The food was fresh, hot, and perfectly prepared. We also ordered the kids' meal (5 pancakes with eggs), two burgers with onion rings, and the Colorado omelette. Every single dish was enjoyed, and we left very impressed. I went to IHop in Weslaco this morning for breakfast. I figured 45 minutes was enough time for a quick meal. I put in an order for French toast, eggs, & coffee and paid for the meal, so I could just eat and run. I asked if I could sit anywhere. The cashier looked at me in surprise & said she thought I had ordered to go'. I said no, I wanted to eat there, but didn't have a lot of time, so was just ordering and prepaying for my meal. She told me to sit anywhere & she would bring my breakfast. There were a couple of waitresses standing around & after about 5 minutes I got one's attention & asked if I could get a cup of coffee. She brought my coffee and about five minutes later my breakfast arrived. . . But not on a plate. My breakfast was served in the plastic cover (not the plate itself, but the clear lid!) of the 'To go' box! Obviously, the cook must have been irate about my decision to eat there, rather than do take out! Since I'd only gotten a fork & spoon, I had to flag down another waitress to get a knife to cut my French toast. Once I was served my breakfast, nobody stopped to ask how was my meal, would I like more coffee, etc. I felt totally ignored! Needless to say I won't be going back to IHOP, nor would I recommend it! We just went over to have a late dinner and let me tell you the experience that we had with our waiter Jeremiah was amazing he was very attentive he had such a great spirit. I have been there before and other waiters are usually with a bad attitude but not him he was very friendly and made our visit very pleasant I can definitely assure you that I will be going back and requesting him as our waiter. Place is dirty Waiter was not on point. Kept asking if we needed anything and when we would tell him. What we needed he wouldn't come back for a long time. Asked for extra butter for pancakes didn't come back till my pancakes were cold. Asked for napkins. Didn't comeback till I was done eating. My friends order didn't come till all of were half way done. And she ordered the same thing all of us did. Told him he forgot a set of pancakes and he insisted he didn't. Kept looking at the table like we lied and ate the pancakes. It's embarrassing that they keep most of the tables from wobbling by putting thick layers of napkins under the legs. We sat for a very long time just waiting on menus. Finally got menus and waited a long time for coffee to come. My sisters pancakes showed up cold, asked to have them rewarmed and that took at least 10 plus minutes. My morning bowl was cold and the scrambled eggs had been setting for awhile..... my husbands order was just completely wrong...... just all around terrible!!!!!! read more

This place needs to be closed down and remodeled, it's nasty. Every single time I order to-go they always either get my order completely wrong or items are missing. Completely incompetent employees and poor food quality. So frustrating. Decided to get the omelet and cupcake pancakes combo and the omelet came cold without the extra sauce I paid for and the pancakes soggy with no sprinkles and vanilla sauce which is supposed to come with it. We come here at least 3-4 times a month. The kids love the smiley pancakes and I love to get the harvest grain pancakes. For lunch, I usually order a sandwich to go and go back to work. Food is always on point and when it's very busy the line goes pretty smoothly to get seated. Overall, great service and restaurant in the midvalley. Too many restaurants have closed down in Weslaco but this one continues to deliver. My family also likes to come here for birthdays or other special days like Mother's Day or Father's Day. Even though, sometimes the line is long on these days to get seated, it goes smooth and we can continue our family tradition. Their desserts are super yummy too. read more

I always enjoy eating breakfast at night. I've been to many IHops in my area but tonight, this location definitely brought their A game. Not only was their food great, it was their customer service that deserved this 5 star rating. Met this gentleman training a waitress and teaching her the ropes. She did amazing and it was obvious she was being trained the right way. Very courteous and attentative to our needs. Keep up the great work. Everyone in our party enjoyed their professionalism and their attention to detail. To the point where even the busboy was very courteous and even offered to bring us refills. read more

I generally expect a breakfast diner to be a bit slow, almost just a hangout spot for retirees, but this place is so insanely high traffic. I often see the host or the server themselves rushing to clean tables. Bus boys and hosts take food and drinks out to tables, because the servers are so overwhelmed. It's unnerving, and i almost feel bad for the staff. Let me to notice there was no sign mentioning to tip, which I believe those people definitely need, It's rare I see anybody at all tip, and I believe their pay rate is 2-3/hr?? Despite that they are in an environment where rude & impatient clientele mixed with exhausted, stressed coworkers, the attitude of the staff make it a wonderful diner. Manager is awesome & friendly, hosts great customer service, servers..superheroes!!!, cooks are dedicated, busboys hardworking. I come about once a month. This IHOP is the same as every other in terms of their quality of food. The basic, generic, and mildly satisfying lunch and breakfast and only exemplary after a night of binge drinking leads to chicken fried steak and eggs cravings. Why this IHOP is only 2/5 stars instead of the 3/5 an ordinary IHOP deserves is because the service on several occasions as been poor. Unfilled drink orders, cold coffee, and in competent managerial staff leads to a very unsatisfactory dining experience. read more

We went for the brioche french toast, and we absolutely loved them. Good portions, great tasting food, and our waitress was super nice and attentive. Will definitely be going back whenever I feel like having breakfast for dinner again. read more

I always get the strawberry pancake stack here, the pancakes are soft and are easily to pass down when eating. The Omelets are delicious!

First time I have eaten at this restaurant. Arrived about 6 am, not many people there. Waitress sat us at the first nearby table, and I had to brush away food crumbs from the seat. After sitting down, could see more food crumbs and water stains on the table, so asked for another table. After ten minutes, waitress finally brought us two sets of silverware, after having to ask her for them. Friend had sirloin tips, which she finished most all. I ordered the French toast special, with over medium hard eggs. My plate arrived, and the two eggs had a layer of grease around them on plate. Bacon greasy, and napkin sopped up most of excess grease. Sausages ok, but only ate half of one of them. Pancakes only thing not greasy. Egg yolk watery, so waitress ordered another egg for me medium hard. It was runny, too. The second egg arrived on a plate with grease surrounding it, too. The French toast was inedible, to me. The center was smashed flat, and it was all soaking in grease as well. I only ate half of one slice, and darn, I was looking forward to some French toast! Ordered a large glass of "fresh squeezed" orange juice. It might have been squeezed months ago, and put in a pitcher. But it sure tasted good. Ended up with diarrhea five hours later, I think because of the heavy greasy food I ate. I would never go back. read more

All 6 of my party's order were incorrect. I'm guessing the reason being that our server did not write down our order. It took 15 minutes for our drink orders to come out. The only time our server came to check on us and ask about our meal was as he was bringing us our ticket. The food was very sub par and the service was terrible. read more
