Was patient when we waited for another guest to arrive. And knowledgeable when I mentioned my food allergy. He notified the kitchen on my allergy and had them remove allergen items, they were willing to work with me and create another dish if I wasn't satisfied with the original recipe minus Butter/ Milk. the food STILL came out fantastic and will definitely try again in the future. I stopped in about an hour before closing and ordered the salted caramel brew and the fried chicken BLT. The salted caramel brew was good and refreshing--smooth, not overly sweet, and easy to enjoy. The fried chicken BLT, on the other hand, was dry... RGV-weather dry. The chicken itself was good and well cooked, but the sandwich really needed more sauce to bring everything together. With a little extra love in that bun, it could be solid. I do want to give credit where it's due: the girl who served me was very friendly and welcoming, even close to closing time. Waffles are straight hotel waffles. Pancakes are dense and tough. Bacon was trash. Service was very good! Food is horrible

First and probably last time! The service from the bartenders was outstanding but when it came to the food it's a no from me, food took long which I'm okay with it's a packed Sunday morning! But food was super raw, our poached eggs were super runny on the white part!! Not the yolk, we let the bartender know about it he had no problem and constantly apologized. Tried the Corn beef and Brussels hash the Hubby had the Louisiana Benedict (both seasonal, can't wait to come back and try the next seasonal menu) so glad we were able to taste these delicious dishes. This restaurant just opened in McAllen and boy was it packed. Good thing you can join the wait list online. Service was ok as we got a new waitress and she seemed a bit lost. Still we were patient with her as we know they have to start somewhere. The food idk what to think I was expecting idk really really good flavors but it just didn't quite hit the spot for me. The home made sausage had a distinct taste of spices and a bit of sweetness that I just didn't like. The cinnamon roll French toast was meh, something was missing and the bread consistency was not there for a French toast bread. My husband had the chicken and waffles and as seen in the pictures it was 3 Chicken tenders and one waffle. This place was so busy, I highly recommend getting there early or make sure you're willing to wait for a table! That being said, the wait is totally worth it imo. We ordered regular coffee and it was nice, not too strong. The prices are a bit steep but they do give you huge portions. I ordered the supreme omelet with potatoes and wheat toast. The potatoes were nicely seasoned and the omelet was huge! I would have liked my toast a bit toastier but other than that, my breakfast was delicious. My mom ordered biscuits and gravy and they make their sausage and gravy in house and it tasted so good! Their gravy was tasty and the biscuits were nice and fluffy! Our service was fantastic! Our waitress was nice and helpful with any questions we had about the menu and the food and the manager even stopped by our table to check in on us and told us that everything is made fresh and in house. From the start parking was a nightmare. This can be expected to get worse as the plaza still has room for more venues. The worse experience for wait time. We utilized the "Join the wait list" on their website 10-15 before getting to the restaurant. Upon arrival we were informed that we are placed on the waitlist upon arriving rather than when joining the wait list. Told it would be 30-40 minutes. We waited for 35 minutes approached the host only to be told that it would be another 30-40 minute wait. Decided to wait and get two drinks. Went to the bar to order two drinks. One for me and one for my wife who was waiting at the table outside with our child. The bartender insisted that my wife had to be present in order to serve both drinks. That was enough for us. We took off our name from the "wait list" and will not be back. The long wait did allow us to review the menu which is nothing special. read more

Personally, I was a fan of the chicken and waffles. The waffle was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken was good, and the syrup had a nice kick. My husband got the broken chicken biscuit with country potatoes. It was very good. Unfortunately, we were given dirty silverware. Thankfully, the hostess quickly gave us new sets. The service was mediocre, perhaps because we came in at 1:40, close to closing time. Our server didn't check on us much, and forgot our apple juice. As a Yelper, I should have looked up these reviews before I wasted my time not only driving 30'mins this way but dining here this morning. I took my son to breakfast/brunch and from the beginning it was not a very pleasant experience. Upon entering, the ambiance is unimpressive. It just looks like a big crowded cafeteria. There was a long wait and no "waiting" area other than one small bench available. God forbid you have to stand. The staff make you feel like you are in their way the entire time. Hostess were very unfriendly and seemed bothered most of the time. Our Server was very kind but overwhelmed and busy. It took forever to receive our food. When the food came, it looked pretty, but the flavors fell short. Other than the soup, everything was pretty basic and unexciting. $17 for a fishy tasting crab cake Benedict (which has been a favorite breakfast item of mine for years) it was absolutely terrible. I don't think it was crab at all. The hollandaise non existent and I'm pretty sure the egg was over easy. My son had chicken tenders, hard to mess that up, but he too was unimpressed. It is rare my 12 year old tells me they don't ever want to go back there, but I will not be back and do not recommend wasting your time or $$ at this place. The wait was about 20 minutes for 3 of us, but they texted us as soon as our table was ready. There wasn't much of a waiting area, however, so we went and waited in the car. Food was WONDERFUL and so was the coffee (I had the medium roast). The server we had was friendly, prompt and the food came out relatively quickly. I'll say the ambiance is amazing, we went the day after opening day and honestly I had high hopes for the food. We got the cinnamon French toast and it was very dry, chewy and not flavorful at all. My husband got the pancake combo; the eggs were typical liquid eggs they serve at major breakfast joints, the potatoes you can tell where frozen potatoes. As for the the pancakes they were dry and chewy. My 9 year old said Dennys has better pancakes , which I fully agree. I walked away thinking it was more like the broken dreams cafe bc I pumped myself up so much for this place. I hope they fix the food bc the coffee was good. But I mean you can't mess up coffee. Which is not a crab cake at all it's an English muffin with crab on top and the egg was not poached it was more of a hard boiled egg, but the worst was the hollandaise sauce which was straight up mayo. The server leaned over the table to fill up the jelly but did not clear the dirty plates nor apologize for the temp of the food at any point...even when she asked how everything was!!
