Tried this place during the week. This place was empty. When I ordered coffee, they just started brewing it. I asked for whole milk and they did not have any, only creamers! The food is very high priced for small portions. This place is NOT good for a relaxing dining experience. The managers & staff are arguing, the service is VERY slow and you may order 3 items but only get 1 at a time and the folks with you may not get their food until you are done eating IF you want a hot meal. Service just isn't there!!! After waiting 48 minutes on our food that wasn't delivered, we decided to leave. The table that came in 15 minutes after us already got their food. As we were walking out the server yelled across the dining room floor at me saying that lady is bring out your food. Now mind you there were like 4 tables with 2 people at each and a big group at another, then our table of 4. So I proceeded to tell her we waited all that time and tables that came in after us got prompt service. Not to mention pieces of napkins floating in my daughter's drink. The food doesn't seem to be as good as it once was. My fiancé ordered French toast today and when they ask her whether she wanted sausage or bacon, she said sausage patties. Well when they came out, they were plant based and cost over seven dollars. She didn't realize that the patties were plant-based. The girl took them back but only after huffing and puffing and saying we should read the menu more carefully. Who in the world, by default, wants plant-based sausage? Me and my bf called in a to go order at 10:40, we got there around 11. We waited 10 mins to go see if the food was ready. The host or whatever she is was EXTREMELY rude to use. I told her that we had to go order and she said "oh y'all's are ready yet" , she doesn't even know what we had or even asked for our name for the order. We went and sat back down for 30 mins, and went back up there and she had to ask someone else if our food was ready and they told her they were working on it. Mind you at this point we had been there for half an hour. So we sit back down for another 20 mins , and my bf finally had enough and went back in line, and our food was sitting there since we got there. It was already done when we got there, no one cared to even look in the bag to see if it was ours. She told my bf that they would just reheat it and he told her not to worry about it because it's been an hour. This place is a very bad environment. A large group of my family went here last week after my daughter's school ceremony. This seemed like an easy choice with something for everyone. We waited for a few minutes for a table before a VERY confused hostess became completely flabbergasted about where to seat us. There were seven of us, five adults and two children. She first tried seating us at a regular size booth. Then she spies a large seating area but it still has dishes and table left from the previous customers. She's still unsure what to do and then says someone will clean it while we basically stand near the table and wait. Thankfully another waitress steps in and asks us to sit back down in the waiting area until they can find us something. Another few minutes pass us and they seat us on the other side of the restaurant closer to the kitchen. Our waitress took our drink and food orders and it wasn't long before we got our food. Everything was correct when it came out, but my daughter, who ordered the cupcake pancake, looked much different than on the menu picture. It just looked they dumped the toppings on because they didn't care. Our good tasted fine, not expecting it to taste gourmet or anything. My wife and I typically prefer Waffle House over iHop and Denny's, to be honest. But we got a phenomenal meal here on this day. We wanted to try the new iHob steakburgers. My wife got a bacon with avocado--and the flavors and quantity were excellent, from bun to meat to toppings. Fries were potatoey and great, too. I wanted pancakes--and my pancakes hit the spot! They always have the A/C blasting, bring in a sweater. My Mom likes IHOP, that's the only reason I'm here. I think it's overpriced. $2.19 for a cup of coffee? I only want 1 cup not a pot, give me the choice and pay less for no refill. $2,09 for a small glass of sweet tea? Waitress didn't bring a refill even though I asked twice, by the time she did, we were leaving. There seemed to be a waitress for every three tables, I don't know why the need to run around like there so terribly busy and act like they don't have time to pay attention to you. I watched our waitress, the only tables she went to were ours and the two tables next to us. Other times she disappeared in the kitchen area. I can get the same breakfast in a lot of other places for about a third of the price and only come here when my Mom wants crepes. read more

Server was excellent; however, kitchen was SLOW! We had hoped for a fairly quick brunch, but that was certainly NOT the case. And when the food finally arrived, my scrambled eggs were lukewarm. The food is usually always good but it is fairly slow and it seems like we always have at least one order that is wrong. It took our server 15 mins to get to our table to take our order and she only had three tables to manage. The people next to us had been waiting for their food for 45 mins and when she finally brought their food, one hour later, to them it was only half of what they ordered.She finally brought our food to us, my omelet looked horrible and was brought without the proper condiments that came with it, my husband's order wasn't correct. This place is hot and cold on service. The location is pretty convenient. This last trip (yesterday) there was an insect crawling along the edge of the tabletop. It was a baby cricket (thank God) and not a you know what. There were also syrup splatters on the table; I guess the waitress didn't notice me cleaning the table when she took our drink order... Everything was just average, the service and the food. Considering the place was not all that busy, it did take a while for our food. We tried having dinner there last year and it was a disaster - the food took 45 minutes to arrive (again it was not busy at all). Firstly, IHOP is a great restaurant chain. This particular store is deplorable, and I think it's because the management. I'm going to offer a no exaggeration account of our most recent dining experience, which has now sealed the deal on never going back to this particular store: - We were not greeted upon the waitress arriving at our table. Though a small issue, it's something we noted after our bad experience as a clear sign of things to come. - Though there was some confusion on our part as to a couple of combos, we ironed it out at the table and felt confident she knew what we wanted. - Food arrived in three stages (for 6 people), and was all sorts of wrong. + I had the wrong meat, and my harvest grain pancakes were thin to the point of looking rather like crackers -- and with no butter. + My wife had only her pancakes, no eggs or meat. + A friend was delivered 1 pancake instead of 3. + Another friend received no pancakes whatsoever + Lastly the manager dropped one of 4 chicken fingers on the floor, which was never replaced - Having gotten round 1 of food, we all noted our issues and strove to resolve them. A friend asked for ketchup and got an empty bottle, twice. - Pancakes and other food items only arrived after multiple reminders. - Waitress told us upon asking that the friend who did not receive 2/3 pancakes, that they had been rung up for one, so he ordered a short stack. This short stack never appeared. - Drinks were not refilled over the entire course of the meal (45 mins). - Upon getting the check we noted that we had been charged for 5 pancake combos, when we had ordered 4, and gotten 3.5 of them. Additionally we had been charged for the short stack that never arrived. I'm all for paying for things I've eaten, but this was the last straw. From top to bottom the service could only be worse if it was openly hostile. This store needs new management, and a complete house cleaning of any dead weight. read more

Went only once when there wasn't a 45 minute wait which was the other 4 times I've tried to go. They need more staff here in the kitchen. Several times we've attempted to eat here and they won't even seat people even though there are empty tables. They say the kitchen is backed up and they can't seat anyone. I guess the hostesses and waitresses get tired of being verbally abused by irritated customers due to this issue because they all could use some cheering up as they are not very apologetic and look more upset with you for acting disappointed when they tell you it will be an absolute minimum of 45 minutes for 2 people. That said- when I did eat here and the kitchen wasn't "backed up" which is apparently 10:40 am on a Monday (who eats breakfast then anyway) everything was delicious. My omelette was huge and tasty, my crepe was superb and our waitress was really nice. I would like to come more often as I really love IHOP but this place needs help, a change of management for SURE. Today I visited IHOP for breakfast. The two star review isn't for the service. Our server Chastity (I apologize for the spelling) was great, however I decided to partake in the "simple and fit vegetable omlette" with a side of their "in season fruit". When my omlette arrived, it looked petty decent. Then I took the first bite. When I bit into this luke warm, soggy, bland tasting omlette, I was ready for it to just be over! Really, its as if someone made an omlette, dunked it in a bucket of water and put it on a plate. I do understand that people don't go to IHOP to get a gormet meal, but if a place like waffle house can make you a fresh breakfast right in front of you, IHOP should be able to make the same. For a major chain of breakfast restaurants, this is pretty embarrassing and I would think that they would set their standards just a little higher. read more

We were in Shelby, NC 1/12/18 around 8pm so we stopped by ihop to eat, BIG mistake apparently understaffed, dirty booths everywhere with dishes and plates of food where people had eaten and tables weren't cleaned. Took us 45 minutes to get our food after we ordered, ALL the staff acted as if it was the first day on the job. Other customers were brought coffee cups with lipstick on them. Some complaining they only got half of what they ordered. Long story short. This place in the evening is a pitiful excuse for a restaurant. read more

We went here tonight as a group for Fat Tuesday and the service was terrible. The manager dropped a chicken tender on the floor and never replaced it. They over charged us and charged us food we never received. The manager gave us some off but the whole experience was terrible. Last time we came it wasn't great either. My husband and I just wanted a quick breakfast for dinner last evening and stopped in.. the waitress must have said baby about 16 times in her speech to find us a booth.. she was very nice just too much baby and sweetie and cuteness. She took our order and there we sat. She brought out coffee and that was luke warm at best. I had the feeling it was going to get worse and it certainly did. My husband ordered the split decision and I ordered 1 pancake 2 eggs over easy and a small bowl of grits. Our eggs were cooked hard.. and we're cold. Bacon was cold his french toast was cold. The only thing hot was my grits in which it had one little scoop of butter on it and that was it. We asked to get eggs cooked correctly and she said she'd take care of it.. we ate what we could and by the time the eggs came out we were about ready to leave but we accepted them and ate em even though they looked like they had been drowned in butter.. she said a waitress and her husband the Cook had just quit that morning and the manager was cooking.. I think the place needs new management and staff.. the staff stands around joking with other staff that is off duty. We won't be back.. terrible service and experience.. read more
