Bad service, equally bad food. It took 20 minutes for us to get coffee and even longer to get food. There were 7 of us there for breakfast. We often meet together several times a week and we expect good service. We are also big tippers (most of us are also veterans and we are all senior citizens). Service was terrible. The server we had brought coffee and just placed all of the cups at the end of the table. Did not even serve each of us. When we were finally able to order (we asked multiple times) 3 of us got ice cold breakfasts. We contacted the manager and were comped for the bad breakfast, but that was not enough. I would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy. I have frequented many IHOP's and have never experienced such bad service or food. DON'T GO!!! read more

While driving between Salt Lake City and St. George, my family and I stopped in Payson for breakfast. We were expecting to only find drive thru restaurants, but we were excited to see an IHOP. We were quickly greeted and taken to a table. We noticed that there was a special menu for the release of the Wonka movie. It had lots of sugary items, one of which my wife excitedly ordered. It was tasty and brightly colored, making it super fun. I had the more traditional bacon, eggs and hash browns. They were very good and just the right portion size-not too much, so nothing went to waste. Service was ok, just a little slow. But the orders were correct and the food was good. Amazing avacado toast , great vegan option . Coffee is good . However , service is friendly but when we got the bill our server tipped themselves 20% without asking us she just selected that option for us . When this location first opened they struggled to keep good food and good service as part of their business. We gave up on it for some time until the last several months of which we've gone 3 times. They are still short staffed but they have drastically improved on the service and the food. Kudos to the chef for preparing hot and tasty meals and a thank you to the staff that is there as they've all been quick to serve and on top of things. We'll be coming back more often now. read more

Never have i ever had to wait so long at a rest and then given such crummy food. We waited 45 minutes to get water & over an hour to get our food. The eggs were cold, the pancakes were rubbery and the meat on my kids hamburger was so small, it didn't even fit on half the bun. What a joke. This was the worst service we have ever had. Ordered food. 49 minutes later the waitress told us they lost are ticket and asked what we had. We told her that we would just take the check because we were in a hurry. She said it'll be right out. 20 minutes later we still didn't have our food and I asked for the check and to go boxes and when we got it, all are orders were incorrect and we had to get it to go. Honestly this was the WORST dining experience I have EVER had the dissatisfaction of attending. The server, whom I had was asked three times, in an hour, to bring a glass of water to the table, told my mom to be more considerate to her because they were so busy. I told her she was the one being inconsiderate because I asked her about two other people multiple times if they would bring a glass of water to the table. She proceeded to then tell me that I was being rude to her and that she had more important things to do for other customers than getting my mom water. Immediately went to the front of house to ask to speak with management as I was asking for a glass of water and not for her to fly to the moon. Management told me she would be fired and we would have the next meal on the house. We went back because the store manager was very kind and assured me that he didn't want someone on the team who was disrespectful to customers. TWO other tables heard the exchange and literally walked out because they didn't want to risk asking for syrup and her head explode. That place, overall lost two tables of business. When we came back, we ordered and I look up and see that the waitress who had been so rude to my mother and myself was still working there. Now, she didn't need to loose her job for me to be happy but this shows me that the management there couldn't care less about customer service because he had no follow through. So we went to this ihop this morning. We've been here a few times before and never had a problem. This time was different. Our waitress didn't come to us until we'd been there for nearly 10min. She didn't even come with water, which is what they usually do if they are that late. We ordered our drinks and food at that time. It took her about 10 more minutes to bring out our drinks. I asked for a straw which she said she'd get (spoiler alert she never did). We had to flag down the hostess eventually to get that and a refill on my husbands coffee. Our waitress again did not show up for about 7-10min after that (still with no straw or food). We got our food about 10 more minutes after that and it was cold. Which tells me it had been ready for a while! After we were done (because she never checked on us again) we just went up to the front to get our check. There were two small groups waiting and we waited for about 5 more minutes for someone to show. At this time there was not a waitress or hostess to be seen. Mind you, because of COVID and social distancing there were only about 8 tables with people and about 4-6 waitresses... so they weren't busy or overwhelmed and there were no big parties. Another couple came in to be seated. At this point we put $30 on the table and left. I usually write the reasons why I didn't give a tip on the back of a receipt (which is very rare and I typically tip very well) but because I didn't have the opportunity to get a receipt due to the lack of customer service I am writing it here. read more

I know Payson is a small town, I get that I really do. But this IHOP was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We came here because we didn't have time to go grocery shopping and cook a meal before meeting our friends for an afternoon activity. We live in Payson and they don't so it takes a while for us to drive up to meet them. The problem was that we expected it to take less time to eat here than it would to go grocery shopping and cook an 5 course meal. We both ordered the "red potato pepper onion hash" I tried to get some sautéed veggies to go with it. sautéed veggies aren't on the menu so I told them to just charge me for an omelette and just say no cheese and no egg. Maybe this was my mistake. But do to medical reasons I can't have animal products. It took 2 hours to get the food. The sautéed veggies cane 20 minutes after that. I wanted to tell the waitress to not bother with them as we were so late by that point that just going hungry was our only real option. (The red potato pepper onion hash is super small and not filling on its own) the problem was that we only saw our waitress 2 in that 2 and a half hour period. I took the veggies with me which was a mistake because then it ended up having to sit in my car for the rest of the day. But I was really hungry and hopped I could get to eat it but there just wasn't time. Insult to injury this restaurant was filthy. The floors seats and tables were all disgusting. Someone finally did show up to clean but the were just throwing all the crap from the table into the chairs and floor. And some of it hit us. The person at the front finally came and fixed it because that kid didn't know how to clean a table. (Parenting fail) I wanted to walk out and just go to subway after the first hour but my husband said we just needed to be patient. We will never come back. read more

This is the worst IHOP I have ever been to. It's not like I had high expectations of fine dining to begin with. I mean it's IHOP. But that's the point. It's supposed to be a known quantity. You can always expect some tasty food that comes out pretty quick. But not at the Payson IHOP. When we arrived there were only three other tables with people. Other than that the place was a ghost town. It still took them a full hour to get the food out. We were not the only ones either. Today was the worst experience I have had at an IHOP. It was cold, they did not turn up the heat . There were 10 in our party. The food came out couple by couple over a 20 minute time range. Some were finished eating before all the food came out. The waitress forgot many food items. She could not remember who had what food. The ketchup bottle she brought was almost empty, we asked for more, she never brought it. The food did taste good. I called customer service and got a recoded message that said to give feedback on the website, there is no place to do it. How sad.
