So I've eaten at this IHOP before it was under new management never had any problems today I walked in stood at the counter waiting to be seated everybody looking at me no one came by finally someone came out the back seated me at a table with an empty coffee pot on it then I sat at the table and waited and waited someone else came in and one of the servers walked right up to them and sat them I don't understand why they didn't do that for me but anyway so The waitress started taking their order and I'm still waiting for somebody to acknowledge me I have to tell you I was very disappointed I got up and walked out if this is the way it is under new management I will never come back again read more

Chris was our waiter and it was truly the most amazing service I've ever received from a restaurant server ever in my life. Dwayne the manager was very appreciative and polite as well. The last time I went to IHOP in Manahawkin, NJ. After eating one of their pancake meals my face started to blush. I am allergic to gluten and I am mad at this incident. So, because we were close to this restaurant we decided to go there for lunch, it was awful! I ordered a salad with chicken in it, the lettuce had rotten pieces and the chicken was so rubbery you could have bounced it off the floor! My husband had a burger that wasn't much better! The waitress was very nice and took the salad off the check, however, the restaurant wasn't busy and it took forever to get our meal! Maybe IHOP should stick to breakfast! read more

My family and I stopped at this IHOP and because of the over the top service I had to go out of my way to post this review. Normally at a fast food chain restaurant, you receive the standard customer service, but not here. There was a short wait time, but a slightly longer wait for our food. The manager went out of his way to ensure and thank us for our patience, refreshing our coffee and even correcting one of our orders that the kitchen slightly left out. All in all, I just wanted to say how much I admired everyone for raising the bar on customer service. On our way out, I made the mention to the manager, and he said it was because of people taking time out of their day to dine there, that keeps them open and they're happy to do so. I've been going to this IHOP for over a year now. But it has greatly declined in quality over the recent months, ever since my usual day is a Monday. Don't go here on a Monday. There seems to be something wrong every time I go, and I have to have something remade, or they forgot an item and I have to wait. It's as good as your standard diner. It's been many, many, many years since I've been to an IHOP. And I wish there wasn't a calorie count on the menu -- because I'm not actually coming here to eat healthy. This IHOP was located in the plaza right next to our hotel. We ate here both mornings we were in the area and had a great experience. We never waited more than 5 minutes to be seated, our hostess and servers were very pleasant as well. The coffee was great, our food was very delicious, and came out of the kitchen lightening quick. I ordered the "create your own" French toast which was fluffy, buttery, and perfect. The portions are a great size along with your choice of eggs, bacon, and sausage. After 3 years of not going here because of horrible service and their bad attitudes, I only tried again because its where my son wanted to eat. NEVER AGAIN! Not one person smiled at us! Not while seating us, not the server, not at the register! I don't expect people kissing my butt but one smile and less attitude would be nice! The eggs did come out hot (which is why I even bothered to give a single star) Food took forever for eggs and pancakes, coffee tasted old and extremely bitter. (do they reuse the coffee left on the table? Because the first pot he brought didn't have any and then the server said, someone must have taken my pot, I'll get you a new one) Then the server had a huge attitude with a single older woman wondering why she was waiting forever for her food. (explaining that you have 5 tables and you are busy and that she will have to wait was a bit much) I know it got busy while I was sitting there, I even saw the manager on the line, but never once did a manager walk around the floor to check on anything! The bar was set very low in the first place, and I was astonished it could drop even more. After this experience I'll be spending my time and money elsewhere. read more

I sat next to a couple who just got up and left as I sat down and for 15 minutes, servers were walking past the table. Beware! Food Poisoning on Thursday late afternoon order, sick from 8pm until exhausted after midnight. The only meal out of normal all day. Salmonella very likely we figure, but bad stuff nonetheless. So since then I've been waiting for a call back Friday through Sunday, I missed him twice, by the General Manager who is Never there apparently, as Rachel the floor manager has advised ME to call back for HIM... I must add how Rachel and another person immediately said it couldn't be their fault and on and on, they NEVER have these issues. Not likely. They said that it must have been too spicy. I like and liked it fine, no recollection of the spice being an issue, during or after my meal. Eventually, because it bothers me that this seemed an average call to them, I called the hospital for further reference and she suggested to call the 2 local health departments. The one outside of this town, LBI, called early this morning, Monday after the holiday weekend. She described the ridiculous PROOF of medical/stool tests and the personal dietary diary of those days before and after the gastric pain, burning up, vomiting and headache for hours... For me the relief wasn't until the Pablano pepper Omelette with the eggs, avocado, peppers, beef, cheese and cream, with a side of hashbrowns, was cleared out. I only ate half of it thankfully! I definitely threw out the large amount of the remainder I had brought home. I just talked to the GM and he too, only focus, asked me if I had saved it for analyzing and should have (driven myself) to a doctor for proof. Really? Nothing yet from the local Ocean County Health Dept. Should I be surprised? Probably not. So BEWARE!! read more

Best IHOP in New Jersey. It's clean, well lit, and even when it's crowded, the service is fast and the food is prepared well. Alright if you can get yourself past the stereotypic visual that is usually popping into your mind when you hear IHOP, try this location out. Last time I was here was several months ago to try the features "Tiramisu pancakes". I usually only come in when I see they are advertising something on TV that I must have because I'd rather get fluffy pancakes at a local business instead. With that being said, I usually come late. I have on all occasions had a male sever who is excellent! I don't know his name but if you get him you would know what I'm talking about. He almost reads your mind! If I was giving a review solely on the service I would give 5 stars. Since the tiramisu pancakes were pathetic I had to subtract and ultimately, since they completely removed my all time favorite menu item-- Cheesecake pancakes--- I had to subtract again! I understand that is a corporate matter but they should listen to patrons, offer less gross fried dinner options and bring back the pancakes we love!!! read more

Went to IHOP in manahawkin around 10:30pm on Friday 4/21/17. They were pretty much empty except for about 2 or 3 tables. Our server was Linda and she was terrible. We had asked for a coffee cup and she walked past TEN TIMES before finally bringing us the cup. She finally brought it out with or food 45 minutes later. She barely even checked up on us.
