I ordered South Omelet (spinach feta & tomato) the vegetables & cheese was cold wrapped in an omelet my friend ordered North Omelet (sausage peppers & onions ) also the inside was cold service is fast BUT the food is NOT Hot .. a few weeks ago I ordered a pastrami Rueben again Meat was cold in the middle & just placed on 2 pieces of warm rye Very disappointing Portions are big but BUT unfortunately food that should be hot is served cold Place is clean service is friendly lots of choices HOWEVER food should be served hot or at least warm when needed read more

Great little place to pick up some quick food. The place was empty when we walked in so we grabbed a table and quickly got our food. I got the chicken parm, my wife got a pork roll sandwich and we split a side of fries. My wife finished her sandwich as it wasn't too big. I had half the chicken parm and took the rest home. We lived in cranford for over 25 years and Mr. J's was always a Saturday morning staple. Moved to Cape May about 7 years ago and saw online that Mr. J's south was opened a few years ago. On a trip up to Costco, had to stop in and get a couple of sandwiches to go. The sloppy Joe is as we remembered it. Delicious. My daughter bit into her sandy and said, yep he makes it the best. We've been here a few times but I've never written a review. Each time we found the staff to be super friendly and attentive. Service is quick and the food is great. They make an excellent sub too with plenty of meat and cheese! I've even bought the potato salad and I am really picky on potato salad and it's very good. Been in a couple of times since they opened. It's nice to have great deli so close. They delicious huge sandwiches and tasty pastries. The first time I stopped in I got a cheesesteak. It was tasty just not as full as I would have liked. The meat wasn't too greasy, the cheese was good. A full size did fill me up though. On my last visit I got a hot pastrami on rye with Swiss and mustard. It was a nice fat sandwich with lean, tasty pastrami. The mustard was not overwhelming and was just the right amount. Again, the sandwich was a good size to fill you up. I also tried a coffee cake. Delicious top, with a moist cake. This place is a perfect lunch spot, very clean. I read the reviews before ordering my lunch. I would have to say disregard the one and two star ratings. The pastrami and corned beef sloppy's are not dry so you don't need a lot of Russian dressing. I ordered an extra one on the side and didn't need it. The coleslaw although not the best I ever has was tasty. The combo of the three were very good and (sloppy) like they advertised. They can do without the middle piece of bread although it probably keeps the sandwich together and it has to be HOTTER. The cheese was warm at best. Overall I was satisfied and will most likely order again in the future. I will ask to eliminate the 3rd piece of bread and get it hotter after all they call it a "Hot" pastrami sloppy Joe. I feel bad giving them 3 stars so I gave them a 4. They are probably a 3 1/2 read more
