Stopped by for a quick lunch and got the Santa Fe wrap. Ever since surf taco left LBI I have been looking for a good wrap where there no skimping out on the size and proteins for a decent price - Very glad I came to subs up! Good amount of fresh deli chicken. Flavorful and a solid portion size. I asked the cashier if the could toast it, so they threw it on the grill once done and had it perfectly toasted and warmed up. Employees were friendly. Note it's cash only business. Highly recommend. read more

Everything was all fine and dandy, eating this on the beach, until I found a large gray hair mid-bite. So turned off and really disappointed because we paid a lot for the sub. Hair nets should be required in a kitchen! read more

This place is also a Bagels & Beyond place, so this review is only about the subs. Good, solid sub place. I had the chicken cordon bleu wrap, which took a little while to make (they had to cook the chicken -- but I'm not complaining!). The curly fries were also pretty darn tasty. I've been going to LBI since the 70s. I was on the beach in Brant Beach when news came over the radio that Elvis Presley died. Like most people, I gravitated towards the same places we'd found, loved and made our own summer classics. This Memorial Day weekend, we decided to only eat at places we'd never been before. That meant Subs Up! We weren't that hungry, so I just got the 6" subs. These are not Wawa 6" subs. These are footballs! Before Brady let the air out. So good. So, so good. Among the best hoagies I ever had. This place and Subs and Such are neck and neck for best hoagies on LBI. Subs Up is Soup-Nazi city. Not too friendly, cash only, stern looks. But man, great hoagies. First timers, but we shall return...hungry. read more

Just a note of caution for tuna fish people, they put relish in it. That's not a positive or a negative on the review because its a decent sub with quality ingredients. I just wish I knew...i prefer no relish. I gave it a 3 for non disclosure of relish. Its a 4 if you are fully aware of the relish and like that style. read more

If you're not grossed out by a temporary summer teenage worker handling your bagels or food with his bare hands (what no plastic gloves?) go ahead and buy your food here. The same kid who's handling your food with bare hands is also handling "dirty" money in this cash only establishment and wiping his hands on his pants. The bagels are good. read more

This place was ok. Sandwiches were ok. Service was ok. They wouldn't let me use the bathroom (clearly visible) which was annoying. Also was initially charged $41 for two sandwiches, chips and two drinks. Sounded ridiculous so I said something. Took a few mins but the clerk realized shed overcharged me by about $15. Just kinda annoying I guess. With lots of other sub shops on the island, I'd just go somewhere else next time. read more

My friend and I came in for breakfast. We ordered 2 pork roll egg and cheese sandwiches on toasted everything bagels. After waiting and waiting one of the girls behind the counter asked if I got my food already, standing there, empty handed I replied no. I told her the order I was waiting for and she got an annoyed look on her face and walked away. She then told me they were out of plain everything bagels. I already knew this and let her know we ordered the wheat ones. So my order was then just being started after waiting 20 minutes and watching everyone who came in after me get their food and begin to eat. I was very annoyed and let her know I'd be outside waiting. I never once heard a simple "I'm sorry" or was shown any type of empathy for having to wait so long. When my order finally came up the bagels were cold and no sign of them being toasted was visible. If I wasn't starving at this point I would have said something but Despite the order being wrong I ate it anyway and hardly enjoyed my breakfast. I will never come back here I was treated poorly and the staffs lack of care for their guests was just too high. read more
