I've been here a few times and the food is consistent. The servers are friendly and warm. I love their omelets, coffee, and pancakes.

Food was good, service was too. Restaurant a bit small compared to a regular IHOP so there was a 20 minute wait. Will definitely return.

The food is decent not too bad. The service however was kind of slow. My eggs were cold when i got them. Everything else was good though.

Now to be honest this was only our second time here and we were surprised on what a different experience we had today (father's day) . So we got there late and they had advertise smoked pork rib special for father's day. Not that I was planning on ordering but it adds to the whole experience. Ok so we get a table and get our drinks. We look over the menu, I decide on ground steak with bake potatoe and corn. Strike 1, no baked potato! And everything else I wanted also needs its baked potato. Strike 2. The waitress/hostess tells me "were out of baked potatos and ribs, you missed out" and I told her "nope I dont really like pork ribs now if yall had Beef ribs that be different " 'Oh we had beef ribs too' They didn't and all they advertised was pork, but she kept on and on. Ive been here 25 years . Ok Ill have a chefs salad. We all know mostly what to expect with a chefs salad right! Give or take each restaurants different interpretation. To tell yall that this was bad, I didn't even take a picture. And I almost always do. But this thing was covered , the entire plate with yellow grated cheese!!!! What the heck. Its like I ordered a pound of grate cheese over lettuce. It was awful!!! And my wifes philly sandwich was dry!? Strike 3......and we're out. With all the really good restaurants in town that are very good and most importantly consistent ,Bud Jones has fallen way off the return too list. I'd still recommend it but cant promise it'll be any good. I mean its been around for ever so they must be doing something right and our first time was great thats why we came back. Oh well.

I ordered an iced vanilla coffee and the small chicken fried steak & eggs. I had my eggs over easy. For my sides I picked the seasoned farmhouse potatoes with onions and tomatoes and a biscuit. I'm glad I ordered the small portion because it was filling. I had half of my biscuit leftover. My boyfriend ordered a coffee and the smoked brisket & cheddar omelet. For his sides he got the hash browns and a grilled biscuit. The omelet was delicious and the grilled biscuit was okay to me. My boyfriend enjoyed all of his meal! Our server was friendly and attentive. No complaints on the service. I think we will definitely have to come back!

For starters, we had the French Onion Soup and the Wedge Salad. The soup was good, it was on the sweeter side though which wasn't my favorite. The salad was fresh, crunchy, and light. Definitely a highlight! For the main course, we had the 8oz Filet, 16oz Ribeye, and the Char-Grilled Jumbo Shrimp. This is what made this steakhouse standout to me. Everything was season and cooked to perfection. The side of the Brandy Mushroom Sauce was a great addition to the steak. The Filet was soft, juicy, and just perfect in every bite. The Ribeye was full of flavor and overall was a very good steak. The shrimp was some of the best shrimp I've had. The seasoning was impeccable, it was juicy, and tasty. For sides, we had the Baked Potato and Broccoli. The potato was a 10/10 and you were able to add more or less of what you wanted with the do it yourself style. I loved it! The broccoli was cooked great it was just very saturated in a pool of olive oil. Finally, dessert was a huge highlight and I loved every single bite. We got the Triple Chocolate Double Fudge Brownie. It was like eating a molten lava cake as a brownie. It was soft, gooey, chocolatey, fudgey, and everything you would want from a brownie and so much more. If you have not tried this steakhouse and are in the area of San Antonio, you need to come here because it will not disappoint by any means!

I'm a sucker for local "click bait 'best of'" lists...I can only assume that's where I found out about it. Driving by, it's got that hole in the wall, run down look. Ordinarily , that doesn't bother me, but seeing it in person ...I must admit I probably wouldn't normally go. But come on! How can you resist the large banner or front reading, " Home of the original jalapeño chicken fried steak". So, in I went to eat with friends. The place, despite the outside, is as homey inside as I can remember anyplace being. Every single person there was as nice as could be and service was exceptional. Love the old school diner vibe! Yep, I tried the jalapeño chicken fried steak and it was phenomenal. Not too spicy, just the right amount of jalapeño. I found it just the right size for the cost, too. Borderline disappointed in the mash potatoes. They could have been hotter and they had that -end of the batch - taste and feel. Overall, not a huge fan of the bathrooms being outside, but that's part of the charm, maybe? Don't let the four stars fool you, because if this joint was more convenient, I'd definitely be going again.

It was a very busy day, full of traffic so we arrived a few minutes past our initial reservation (they give a 15 minutes grace period). I was relieved that Valet was included when you dine here so that took a lot of the headache of finding parking in downtown San Antonio. Service and Food: Our service and the food was swift and taken with great care. Our server was fantastic and really did a great job helping us figure out what to order for someone who was dining here for the first time. Our waiter even recommended my father who is peculiar about his steak (liked it rare, but the outside to be crispy) to order his steak Pittsburg Style which he ended up loving. My waiter was even kind enough to hand craft me my own Sangria when I noticed it wasn't on the menu. The food was absolutely amazing but overall I think our waiters great service really made our evening enjoyable. Im unsure if this was intentional but we noticed the staff was always considerate in making sure the ladies orders were taken first and served first before the men. It was a thoughtful gesture which was appreciated. Additionally the manager checked on each guest which was also nice to see. Overall, it was nice to see my family enjoy their dinner together. I would recommend Ruths to anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion or just have a nice evening out in downtown San Antonio.

Like it sat in the refrigerator uncovered and absorbed all the tastes and smells of everything else sitting in the fridge. The flavors of the beef and chicken tasted the exact same.
