My buddy got the loaded fries with brisket queso, steak, and brisket, and they were amazing. That brisket queso had an awesome smoky flavor, and the portions on everything were HUGE. We were both impressed with how much food we got, and everything tasted fresh and packed with flavor. It is definitely on the pricey side, but with the portion sizes and quality of the food, I'd say it was worth it. My only real complaint was the small seating area, and the wait was pretty long. That said, they're upfront about it...they make everything fresh and even warn you that they "aren't fast food." So if you're willing to wait, I'd definitely recommend giving The UpperCut KC a try. Great food and huge portions!

This place has so many meat and seafood options for sale and a restaurant. Chilean sea bass was on the fresh today menu. We decided to treat ourselves. Everyone in the restaurant/store was so nice! We tried out the restaurant. My husband had the "Mariah's Badass Boss Burrito." It has lobster, crab, shrimp, and Wagyu steak. He ordered fries, which were unfortunately doggy. He said the burrito was good. I had the Teal Tide steak wrap. First of all, that "wrap" was massive. I would call it a burrito more than a wrap, ha ha. It has grilled Wagyu steak, feta cheese, beef bacon, crispy onion straws, and blueberry-jalapeño bacon jam on a rosemary tortilla. I ordered mine without the onion straws. The steak was flavorful and tender and the blueberry-jalapeño bacon jam is addicting! I ordered a side of their coleslaw and it is one of the best coleslaw recipes I've ever eaten!!! The next night, I cooked the Chilean sea bass using an online recipe for both of us. Talk about treating oneself: the filets didn't taste frozen. They were buttery and rich!!! So good!!! My husband and I loved them. Thank you for brightening up our weekend, The Upper Cut!!! You've gained two new customers.

I did take a brisket sandwich to go and was eating it during a baseball game and I overheard a fellow spectator comment to their partner how good my sandwich smelled. Beef burnt ends are perfection! I also got some pulled pork and what I appreciated is that there weren't huge pieces of fat clinging to the meat. The portions consisted of high quality meat, and their bbq sauce is pretty simple and basic for KC sweetness. They also offer a spicy version which is what I prefer. Bar and dining area have a great vibe and I've experienced nothing but good service. Downtown Liberty is so lucky to have this gem. I will be back!!

We will be back and I will be trying the tenderloin!

They lived happily ever after on the price/quality frontier, as the food is very good "bar" food and the beers are cold.....I only wish they had frozen pint glasses to fill with my favorite KC ales.
