I didn't know what to expect, but I do know I was hungry. Nowadays I don't usually go to IHOP but when it's late (or very early in the morning) and you have no other choice you go to IHOP, I guess. For some strange reason it took us a while to get seated, once we were seated, our table had wet spots on it and no silverware. I ordered something pretty simple and the food ended up being pretty mediocre, especially the eggs. The French toast was good though. They also have french toast hot chocolate, which is pretty tasty, depending on who makes it but definitely try it out if you go here or to any IHOP if its on the menu. I can honestly say, the best part of our visit was our waitress, we got lucky! If it wasn't for our waitress this review probably would have been a lot worse. Our waitress was Eboni and she is the absolute best waitress.. I need her manager to give her a raise and or promotion, she needs to show the rest of the team what its like to be amazing at customer service. She is fantastic and is great at her job. She made our experience so much better than it would have been if she wasn't there! Thank you Eboni! Madeline was the manager i told that my eggs were burnt. They were dark brown with cheese laid on top like I wouldn't see it. I asked her to take it off my bill she said i should have told her sooner before i got the check. The omelet was $15. She told me i can get a replacement instead of a refund. Yesterday I had a taste for blueberry pancakes, and I called and Tyann answered the phone, and she was warm and friendly and her presentation when I asked about a particular menu item prompted me to pass 2 major breakfast restaurants in my community to meet a friend at iHop in Lansing, Illinois for breakfast. That friend also passed many establishments to come there as well. I had the Big Steak Omelette. It was a delicious omelette that was filled with steak, hash browns, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and it came with Cheddar cheese, but I got provolone cheese. The meal also came with your choice of pancakes, and I got the blueberry pancakes. The reason that I gave it ONLY 3 stars was although we had an OUTSTANDING experience with Jeremy, who was kind enough to accommodate us although we were not his assigned table. Once Jeremy who was off work left, no one made sure we were okay, there were no refills on our drinks on this 84 degree humid day. There was confusion with whoever the order taker should have been, and our wait was long, but Jeremy came to the rescue. Jeremy, and the cook are the reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 because I felt like I had to explain more to the GM what the issues we had were no discount for my time and wait were offered until I asked. That is the reason for my 3 Star rating, is (1) I had to explain a little too much multiple times and (2) The solution she offered was very little based on the situation that occurred, that brought us to me having to ask for this very small compensation that she offered. My time is money and money is time........Will I visit again 10% Yes 90% Absolutely Not I will patronize a place where the Manager is more customer focused. read more

To be fair, my review is broken up into two categories: Food and Waitress Aliya - 4 stars Customer Service and Cleanliness - 1 star (would give 0 if I could) I came here today (7/5/19) to get the Lingoberry crepes. I was dining alone. I walk in and couldn't understand why there were 15-20 people waiting in the lobby. Walk up to the sign that says "Please wait here to be seated" to be told by a manager to go over to another counter to give your name which I did and was told it would be a 20 minute wait. Something just didn't add up to me and I looked inside the restaurant and saw that there was a section of the restaurant that was empty and not being filled with customers so I asked an employee to speak to a manager. Sabrina who was already at the front desk was who I was directed to speak with. Sabrina told me to wait a second until she finished punching things on the computer. I waited while she kept punching. I finally said "Can I voice to you my concern while you are punching?" Her response was "No, I want to give you my undivided attention" So again I wait until she was ready which was not customer service friendly. When prompted, I told her my concern about all of us waiting in the lobby but how there was a section of the restaurant empty and not being used. She gave the excuse that the tables were dirty and waiting to be cleaned and then she just walked away. Those tables weren't dirty because they weren't being used so she lied. I waited until she came back over and asked for an update. She rudely said to me "The tables are being cleaned" and walked away again. No apology, just rudeness. I was stunned. Finally, after 20 minutes, my name was called. Several tables that the employee wanted to seat me at she couldn't because they had not been cleaned. Plenty of workers were working so I didn't understand the issue. I was seated all the way in the back which I didn't prefer but didn't have much of a choice. I was in shock of how unclean this restaurant was which is indicative of serious management issues. Please see all the pics attached - garbage on the floor in the lobby area, up under tables and this was 11:30 a.m., the restaurant hadn't been open that long in the day so why these issues? An eating establishment should never look like this. The best part of my experience was my waitress Aliya. She was attentive, kind and apologetic in the delay with my food. Many people including myself were asking their waitresses what was taking so long in bringing their food. Aliya told me that there was a party of 10 people which caused a delay with other people's food. This is an issue also. Customers shouldn't have to wait for a party of 10's food to be prepared to get their food fixed. I gave her a tip worthy of her service, over 30%. Customer service and cleanliness issues in a restaurant are SERIOUS. With the current Yelp rating of 2 stars, out of 5 with over 60 reviews, there is a problem here and I'm surprised this restaurant stays open. Please address these issues, us as customers deserve so much better. read more

I would give 0 but the greeter moved 2 tables together to seat my family which was eight of us in total. First, we waited over 30 minutes to receive water or any acknowledgement from the wait staff. We'd attended a Church service that ran exceptionally long, so once we arrived at the restaurant we wanted to eat and converse a bit, therefore we were extremely patient. Next, once our waiter arrived and took our order, we waited another 15 minutes to only have the wrong/missing drinks delivered. After we informed the waiter of the drink mistake, we waited another 20 minutes to receive under cooked bacon, and a plate that contained some unrecognizable, burned item from the grill along with avocado (not ordered) and my Son is allergic! My Daughter in law and I asked to speak with the manager and the person who was our waiter informed us that he was in fact the manager. We told them that the food and the service were beyond subpar and that we were leaving. Another gentleman then approached us and stated he was the manager, he apologized for the horrible service and we left. Today me and 2 friends met at this IHOP. Let me start by saying, I am not a fan of IHOP however, my experience today has changed that. One, the food was great. Two, the service was absolutely amazing. It seems like management has been intentional with making sure every staff plays their part in the customer service experience. We had an amazing waitress (Kookie). She was personable and got our order right. She checked on us several times. She had a supporting cast because several other wait staff checked on us. I never experienced this level of intentionality even at the high end restaurants. We had a great time as friends and IHOP leveled our experience up even more by the food, friendliness and great service. I had to write about because it truly was above my expectations. When we arrived we waited to be seated for at least 10mins. Figured it must have been busy. When we finally got a table, we looked around and saw there was only 2 other tables with customers, and we were seated RIGHT next to those 2 tables. You would think during a pandemic they would give us a 1 table buffer, especially since it was so empty. Only food that was acceptable was the pancakes. Tonight is 03/05/2019, The time is 8:00pm. We have sit here in IHOP for over 30 minutes before summoning the manager Oscar over. The temperature here is around 56 degrees. The service is terrible at best, and this is even before we order. We left this IHOP after sitting for an hour. After speaking with the night manager Oscar, whom had the best negative attitude EVER!
