We have been surprised by how delicious the burgers are here! I know iHop is more famous for their breakfast but we decided to try their burgers one evening and have been hooked since! Sure every now and then we may have to wait to be seated or they are short wait staff when they were not prepared for the number of customers but hey...is anything ever perfect? For having 3 or 4 tables of people and so many workers that a few can stand around and do nothing, service was slow as can be. The person who sat us walked away before we even sat down and said nothing to us. 5 minutes go by, a busboy takes our drink order and promises a server will be with us shortly. When he brings our drinks he assures the same thing. After another 5 minutes our server comes and we order. When our food comes out the manager delivers it with our server and says they'll be right back with barbecue sauce. Maybe 8 minutes pass, the server comes back and says "you guys doing okay?" I ask again for barbecue sauce that I ordered when I first ordered my food to begin with, she says she'll be right back with it. It takes about 6 minutes for her to come back with it. My food is lukewarm and cold in some places by the time I start eating. Tables around me were dirty from the time I sat down to the time I left with no sign of someone coming to clean them. Went here with my 2 and 3 yr old. My oldest son was asking to go to ihop for dinner because he wanted the scary pankcake face. I decided to take them after enjoying a day at the park. Im a big fan of home cooked meal but I figured id do something different. Plus I knew it would make him so happy. So I decided to go. Surprised on how empty it was, I ordered just the pancake for him and made it very clear what I wanted for my son, which was only his pancakes, nothing else. For myself, I had ordered a chicken sandwich. Server never came to make sure everything was okay. Food arrived and my 3 year old had the sloppiest scary fast pancakes. It was as if they didn't care how it was decorated because a child wouldn't notice. It was ridiculous. What made it even worse was, after repeating myself that I only wanted the pancakes, my server came out with the meal which came with eggs and bacon and for some reason fries. Surprised and stressed out already , I refused to say anything and just tried to eat it myself, since my son doesn't eat eggs or bacon nor fries, Being a very picky eater and in food Theapy. My food arrived and I didn't even have a chicken sandwich. I was given a regular cheese burger. My 2 year old was the only one that had his order correct which was a simple Mac and cheese from the kids meal. I went here last Sunday with a few friends, and we had just the nicest server! He was a gentleman, and was very quick and efficient with our orders. Service is a big deal for me, but the food was also very good. It was quite busy (not surprising for a Sunday), but our food came out hot and very delicious. I ordered the blueberry pancakes with blueberry compote, bacon and eggs (I like them dry) and all was done to my liking. My review was recently deleted by the company. Therefore I am restating my opinion of the staff and the my personal experience. I've heard some claims about the General Manager of the Goldsboro iHop being a creep (sleeping with his employees). Being around him made be uncomfortable at times and very bothered. Overall, the food is average. The waiter, Gary, was surprisingly very kind and helpful. Would not go back due to GM, but wish the best for the friendly waiters.
