Server Amy W was very spaced out. Took 10/15 minutes to get to us. Gave me sausage instead of bacon and gave my friend a plain waffle when she asked for a strawberry waffle. Never brought the water I asked for with my coffee. Didn't show any concern about the mess up. Only checked on us very few times. Had to get another waitress to get our tea. Me and my friend are servers and understand everyone has off days, but the lack of concern and attention was not okay. Had a great experience here although it started off not so good. The manager was too in a hurry to seat people and ignored me so I moved and a young lady asked why I was seating and waiting she sat me I would be attended next and was quickly taken cared by a Latino male whom took my order. We ate at this IHOP for the first time July 15, 2022. The restaurant is quite large and has all your favorite breakfast items and sandwiches. i ordered hot chocolate and the cheesecake pancakes. My cocoa came in a very large cup - more like a small soup mug - and covered with luscious whipped cream. I hadn't expected such a generous-sized serving, and it was delicious! My pancakes were thick and fluffy, with the cheesecake filling and fresh strawberries on too. They're too die for, so try them out. My husband had the bacon omelette and it, too was perfectly cooked and smelled as good as it tasted. IHOP's prices are very affordable, and good value for the money. The menu has every variety of flapjacks you can think of, although I wish they'd bring back their famous "Rooty-Tooty Fresh & Fruity" special. Service is outstanding. Our waiter was friendly and checked on us several times. We were in the process of moving to Goldsboro, and look forward to eating here often in the years to come. read more

We ended up at this IHOP after we discovered our destination restaurant nearby closed for remodeling. We found the staff friendly and the restaurant generally clean. However, the overall experience really lack luster. The service level was very slow. Our wait for the arrival our food was extremely long. When the food arrived it was cold and disappointing. In addition, there was the most annoying door alarm that chimed like a loud doorbell every time the front door opened. It is unlikely we will visit this location again. read more

So since I have all this time waiting on more coffee and our food, I've decided to use this time to say how it's going, so ordered drinks after the table after us ordered food and already had their drinks. So after having asked for Splenda earlier we were able to snag some from the table next to us, but now we have no coffee and no food. Hopefully it's worth the wait, I have doubts at the moment and I thought it was empty because it was a Tuesday evening. read more

Came by for a late lunch/early dinner around 4:30 pm. I was seated immediately upon entering as there were only about a dozen other customers in the place. The young man who seated me, Nicholas, was also my server. He was very polite and attentive. I ordered the steak tips combo with scrambled eggs, crispy hash browns, and 2 buttermilk pancakes. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the hash browns had a nice crisp to them. However, the underside of the hash browns was a bit too dark and had a scorched flavor. It wasn't bad enough to ruin them, but they weren't great. The steak tips were cooked medium as I had requested. The onions and mushrooms were nicely done, and the steak was pretty tender, with the exception of one piece. The portion size was larger than I expected, and there was plenty of steak and veg at the proper ratio. Sadly, the flavor of the steak was lackluster. Whatever it had been marinated in was incredibly sweet, to the point it was almost as if it had been candied. I have never had such oddly seasoned steak before. I drowned it in salt and A-1 to mask the sweetness and managed to eat most of it. I treated the pancakes as dessert, and they saved the day. As the signature menu item, I expected them to be top-notch, and they exceeded my expectations. They were light, fluffy, perfectly cooked, and had great flavor. The only syrup in my table was the original "maple," which was fine but surprised me. I could have sworn that the last time I visited an ihop years ago, they had a variety of syrups right there on the table amd youdidn'thave to request them. Oh well, I tend to favor the regular stuff anyway, and Nicholas was busy with a very large party that had come in, so I didn't bother to ask for any others. I'll try them next time. Overall, my experience was good. Nicholas was amazing, and the other servers I saw in action seemed very kind and attentive as well. I'm only giving 4 stars because that steak was just very, very odd, and here I am, hours later, still trying to figure out what the heck it had been marinated in. read more

Today I went with my husband for their special hours for a nice meal, but it was anything but nice. The service was pretty awful. When we got seated, it was at a dirty booth. We ended up waiting at the booth for about 25 minutes before anyone even came over to us to ask for our drinks. Our waiter must've walked by us at least five times in the time we were waiting for our orders to be taken, completely ignoring our existence. Not to mention she didn't apologize for the wait, which was pretty awful considering not that many people were dining. They have the worst service. If you are Hispanic you can be discriminated easily. I wait for a table more than 40 minutes they seat all people who arrived after me, and when I asked about my table and they told me that I have to continue waiting because they only have one table big enough for my family . Grits were prepared either by someone that doesn't know the right way to fix this Southern staple, or IHOP has a terrible grits making procedure. Translation: grits were flavorless and just a step above instant grits. Not all the impressed with the hash browns either. The eggs over easy were good, and the country fried steak was ok.
