. (Twice there WAS not host/hostess, just the wait staff trying their best to fill-in.) But the wait's not that long & once you're seated, all's well!!

I haven't been to a Chillis in a quite some time but I'm happy to see they still have a $5 drink of the month! This month was the 'Resolution Breaker', I thought the name was hilarious and the drink was both huge and tasty. They got rid of the 2 for $25 which is sad AND I learned Chillis no longer does bottomless chips and salsa for free :( the food was pretty good. The portions were great and I liked that I automatically got Mac n cheese with my chicken sandwich. Our server was amazing and helped us with the many questions we had when trying to use a gift card with the mobile payment system. Overall I had a great time at thi establishment and will probably be back!

My favorite marg was the Kelly Kapowski (saved by the bell) inspired marg that was color changing and came with a cute swizzle stick keepsake. The food is usually business as usual but I like the menu offerings. Burgers, chicken fingers, fajitas, and the delicious ribs are my favorites. Service is great. I'm usually in and out. Never a wait to be seated. And does not take long to be served. This location is very locally decorated and has lots of Maryland swag hanging.

They were good as the ones we got fresh in Florida. We wanted takeout this time, and decided on their $16 Cuban pressed sandwich. It's layers of tender thin-sliced slow-roasted pork, ham, and Swiss cheese. The bread is like a french baguette, pressed and crispy-toasted, spread with yellow mustard and tangy dill-pickle chips. It's a rich handful of a sandwich. It came with generous hot soft boardwalk-style fries. Oscar's was quick and friendly. The sandwich was excellent!

Parking lot was packed on the Thursday I went. Inside it was pretty busy as well. Lots of large groups in the dining area. The hostess was friendly and there was just a few minutes wait for a table to be cleaned for us. After being seated a friendly waiter took our drink orders. I decided to try their house beer, Oscar's Lucky 12 to start. Drinks came out very quickly. By the time he was back with them we decided on what we wanted to eat. The menu is American Pub Fare. I had the Turkey Avocado Club that came with a side of fries. The sandwich was delicious and pilled high with freshly sliced turkey. Fries were crispy and delicious as well. Definitely a 5 for the food. I ordered their seasonal Brown Sugar Whiskey Sour. Man it was heavy on the sour. Not something I would get against The service was a definite 5 as well. Everyone there was nice and welcoming. I want to go back soon on a Wednesday night to see how good the wings are for the special that day.

The sign on the door says "Please wait to seated?" We want to be seated...... Once we were seated it took awhile for sever to come over. I actually had to stop one of the serves walking around to ask if anyone was working this section. Finally the person behind the bar came over to take our order. The food is delicious. I love when real corn beef is on the menu and not just on a Reuben. The Irish grits were a new thing I didn't know I needed. The flavors gel so well together. I'll go back again to try dinner but I sure hope for a better reception.

The beverages were discounted. The food was great, and the atmosphere was cool. This evening happened to be their Wine Pairing Dinner evening. It was fun to watch the crowd of customers anticipate their 3-4 course meal w pairings. I researched afterward and saw they're just about monthly, $65 which is a steal, and it appears they sell out. Definitely worth participating. I have 50 11 food allergies so I may have to sit this one out. Another great visit down in the books!!

I was living in Wheaton and not much was going on that summer because of Covid. I had cabin fever, decided to take a drive up to the Covid version of the Howard County Fair; they were doing a drive thru only version where you could enjoy the various fair foods. I ate badly that day! I had a donut burger; two donuts with burger in between. I found a quiet place outside to eat on the fairgrounds. Then, I kept driving further up north for my free dessert coupon I had at Glory Days, which probably was expiring at the end of the month. I had an apple pie a la mode with whipped cream. It was delicious. Server was nice and efficient. In spite of eating terribly health-wise that day, I did go on a long hike nearby Liberty Reservoir.

At first glance, it's pretty bare bones inside--but don't let that fool you. Grab a seat, because the food is where this place shines. I went with the hamburger "Mac style," and Tom had the smoked beef brisket Philly. Honestly? One of the best burgers I've ever had--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and just done right. Despite being the only server on duty, service was quick, polite, and helpful. The menu is concise but filled with tempting, creative options, and they're open for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch. Meals are made to order, so we enjoyed relaxing and getting caught up with one another. My sister-in-law ordered the Smoked Beef Brisket Philly and chose the German potato side salad--she specifically returned to try that side again. I had the Sloppy Goodness, a delicious moist lamb burger topped with a non-traditional French onion soup and melted Provolone on a brioche bun. My broccoli slaw side was great as well. We enjoyed everything so much that we left no leftovers behind. We had hoped to share a chocolate mousse, but it was sold out--just another reason to come back. Portions were filling for us, and my dish was pure comfort food. The Bistro also offers two private rooms for small gatherings. We went on a weekday afternoon, it's a charming spot for a relaxed, unhurried meal and conversation. A place I wouldn't be surprised to find as a local hangout.
