Pesto Veggie Egg White Omelette
Jeff C.

I came here with my wife as we finished up last minute Christmas shopping in 2023. I ordered pesto, veggie egg, White. my Wife ordered off the over 55 menu 2 x 2 x 2. Shout out to Miss Tee who offered fast and friendly Service. Ambiance typical i hop but this location is always busy with loud talking .(pass the Tylenol). all things considered, this location is recommended for affordable meal.

Country fried steak breakfast meal

My favorite IHOP in the area is still the one off Jimmy Carter, but I tried ordering from this location a few weeks back and had a positive experience overall. I would say I agree with Tom E. on how my experience went - a little slower than other locations, but thorough and friendly. My hubby wanted breakfast for dinner and requested the country fried steak meal. I got cheese sticks - not that I needed them, as I had already picked up my order from Sweet Hut across the parking lot lol. Anyway, I called in the order without issue and waited in the lot. When I got inside, there was a bit of a wait to be greeted. Another gentleman and I waited patiently for quite awhile. After being greeted, my order came out promptly. The server almost forgot my ranch but remembered independently, which would have been fine with me either way. The food turned out great - just as good as any other location I've been to. My hubby and I were both satisfied. We would definitely order takeout from this location again while coming through Duluth.

Buttermilk pancakes

In terms of the kind of consistency and reliability that I expect from chain restaurants, this ihop certainly delivered, even if the server ladies were clearly spread thin and working overtime. The omelette was just as I like it with no skimping, nothing more and nothing less, and so were the buttermilk pancakes. Service was quick and sufficiently friendly especially given the busyness, and we left with our bellies full and souls nourished. I hope they stay open for a long time.

Good food, well staffed and friendly. This location stands out among a lot of other mediocre restaurants in their class.

Burgers on the menu are always a great casual lunch or dinner. The 007 burger is my favorite. The specials rotate regularly so if you want something different that option is available too. This visit they had a mascarpone ravioli with scallops, spinach, sundried tomatoes, and lobster-butter sauce. Outside seating is a winner with umbrellas for the summer and propane burners for winter. The service was already terrible when we were told to sit down wherever and then this guy comes out of nowhere and sits us down at a terrible spot, and keeps coming back to asks questions even when we ordered steak he came back to ask what temperature which is very odd because it's normally asked when you order THE steak. Ambiance is okay very simple and bland, could be more vibrant.

When I opened the omurice, the rich egg and cheese aroma covered the entire dish, and every spoonful of rice was full of flavor. The sweet and tangy fried chicken skewers were also delicious. I also tried their mandu (beef dumplings) -- juicy and full of savory flavor. The second time, I ordered the Alfredo pasta, which had a strong creamy aroma and an addictive white sauce flavor. The only downside was the portion -- it was a bit small and disappeared too quickly!

Surprisingly, craving this got me to come back a second time. The Fire Chicken Omelette Ramen had the same presentation, but Buddok ramen instead of sushi rice. Disappointing, because I could have just made Buddok ramen at home. The Schewan noodles were not spicy nor tasty. Takoyaki was good, on a bed of potato fries. Would order again. For the Beef Bulgogi Cheese Fries, the bulgogi is good, the fries are not. These fries are from the frozen section at Costco, make no mistake. They are bland, 2/5 star fries. Even if the bulgogi was on top of better fries, the bulgogi is dry and the cheese on it isn't melty or saucy, so the fries and the topping don't mix together well. Just a pile of dry food.

We were going to get food to go, but they charge a 15-18% surcharge for all to go orders. It was my grandsons birthday. Because of the surcharge, we decided to just go in. 3 little kids and me and my husband. 20% surcharge for 5 people was on our receipt. No drink refills, asked for nothing additional..... They have truly disappointed me and lost me as a customer. Great while it lasted, but I don't like that AT ALL. The prices were already pricey, but to make it even more... no. Can't blame anyone else, but Hen Mother for the charges. Not inflation or anything else. Just Hen Mother Cookhouse

We arrived around 11 am and just in time before there were zero seats outside. The Hostesses, the server and runners were very friendly. Very great service! The food did not disappoint either! I had the hash dish and some of the huge pancake the hubby ordered. The pancake was basically a cake round, I took a bite when the hubs was at the last quarter of it and it was actually still pretty hot! It was good. It looked 1.5-2" thick and 2 pieces. To me that is suitable to split amongst 8 people. The hash was delicious. Tiny roasted veg topped with your style of eggs. I chose sunny side and it was a perfect pour right into the dish. There were also 2 medium round Idaho potatoes, yum! Most definitely without a doubt will be returning.

The new owners have done it justice. The edits/additions to the menu are all good. The originals are still fantastic. This place is for crepes, French pastries (friends, croissants, tarts), and breads. I've never been for lunch, though that's my daughter's preference for this place. Why aren't we here more often? The coffee. It's fine, but nothing great, and when my wife and I have a Saturday morning to go out, we usually want great coffee. The space is tight, smallish, but clean. They seem to do more to-go business than eat in. We've never seen it packed, but there is usually a steady stream of to-go. Want great pastries? This is the place.

Unfortunately this is not the kind of bakery where you can pick up some loaves, baguettes, etc. so I'd consider this more of a cafe. We consumed two half sandwiches (honey maple and roast beef) there, took a couple of croissants and a bread pudding to go. The sandwiches were good, nothing spectacular, but fresh ingredients and well-executed. The croissants were definitely better than average and far better than what you can find most places in the US. Having had croissants in France, I would say this comes pretty close. We didn't have any trouble finding a table or parking right out front, it must have been just past the lunch rush on a Saturday. Note that they are closed Sunday and Monday, and only open until 3 pm Tuesday through Saturday. I would return if I was in the area again.
