This left me thirsty and upset for a prolonged period of time and once the food came I was sick to my stomach. It always comes cold but what am I supposed to expect, they are pancakes. We order online and if you see I have at least 3 meals, why would you give me 1 syrup and 1 butter? Them remembering utensils and straws is slim to none. So my friend and I went in to the restaurant to eat, this was during the summer around 1pm so it wasn't busy at all. I can eat breakfast anytime of the day. So we'd alternate between Friendly's down the street and this place after the kids sports activities. Give me coffee and a stack of pancakes and I've good. :) Over the years the waiters/waitresses have turned over, but for the most part, the service is still pretty good. The food is prepare well. I have noticed the last few times I've come in, it's taking them longer to get the food to you. They used to be a ot better with that. They have two dining rooms, the one in the back is where they tend to put the families and larger groups. It can get a little loud back there if there are young kids...personally i prefer the quieter front area. The parking situation here had always been a problem, especially with the weekend crowds. But it's better now that they expanded the lot in the back. After a horrendous experience at the newly opened Brownstone Coffee (see review link below), We ended up at IHOP of Commack. This IHOP is extremely spacious and rarely a wait. We were seated immediately (party of 6 adults + two kids). The young woman who waited on us, was patient and efficient. Everyone of the staff had a smile on their faces, engaged my two children as they past, it was a very pleasant environment. The food was very quickly served and tasty. I'm told the Mexican Tres Leches Pancakes were amazing, my wife and sister would not share. The kids made a mess and dropped at least 5 forks (sorry), not a complaint from the staff. Customer Service was everything at this location. When we first got there they didn't have seats available. The only 2 seats available was when you first walk in across from where the drink station is. I didn't really care where we sat I was hungry so we said we was fine with those seats but they definitely didn't want to sit us there. After we convinced them to set us down our wonderful waitress came to service us. She was very friendly, hilarious and everything you want in a waitress. We ended up ordering more food than expected. She was kind enough to tell us that we didn't need to order the extra sides and we can share one serving. She was always on point With the refilling of our drinks and made sure we had everything that we needed. After we finished our breakfast. I brought my family here for lunch last Saturday, four adults, two children. It was disappointing to say the least. All the toast was burned, my BLT had wilted lettuce with black edges, and the waitress, who never came by to see if we needed refills, felt the need to announce to the table that I had paid up front (which did include a nice tip). I am appalled! I took a trip to this iHop recently and I couldn't stand not warning others about this. When I entered the establishment I was greeted and seated. Shortly after I noticed one of the employees giving a nasal laugh at one of the customers. The boy was about my height (5'11"), white, and had a gut like nothing I had ever laid my eyes upon. Although his prescence was a bit unsettling, his attitude towards the customers was outrageous and downright awful. I listened closely to what he was saying, and along with a good amount of loud swearing in this otherwise family-friendly restaurant he began to tell the customers about his wealth and how "One day he would end up buying out the place." The fact that he would be so rude to the customers and show such a complete disregard for the other people in the restaurant was just pathetic. I actually ended up leaving without ordering anything for fear of another one of his outbursts. I certainly hope that he will be let go at some point in the near future, or else I, nor anyone else who was in the restaurant at the time will never be returning. read more

Delicious food plus great prices and service! We just called in an IHOPNGO order last night after my Daughter's Dance Competition and it was hot and ready when we arrived. My Daughter wanted Pancakes, my son a Classic Burger with Bacon, and i ordered a turkey avocado wrap which tasted so fresh and good! Had one of our worst experiences at this location. It's difficult to write this review because this is not the norm. My experience this past Saturday involved a young waitress who had previously served us and we had a similar experience in the area past. We arrived at about 11:30 and as usual received a warm welcome from the Manager/Owner and were seated within 5 minutes. Here's where things went downhill. We know from previous visits we are always offered coffee, water almost immediately. This time it took almost 15 minutes before our waitress came over and asked if we wanted to start with something to drink (by this time I was so thirsty my tongue felt like sandpaper). I replied yes coffee, glass of water and I informed her at that time that we were also ready to place our order. Another 10 minutes passed. We flagged down another waitress and asked if she could find our waitress. She arrived 5 minutes later with one coffee and one water which was just for me. Unbelievable. I asked why only for me and not my husband she said,"oh, I'll be right back with his." Our breakfast arrived another 15-20 minutes later. We both had to send back our dishes. My husband's order of turkey, gravy, spinach and broccoli was ice cold. I had requested my breakfast sampler with everything to be "well done, no runny eggs, crispy bacon, etc." My entire order was the opposite. We politely told the server what the problems were. A new order came and it was no better. At this point, I'm no longer hungry and I'm beyond frustrated. We ate what we could, paid, left a minimal tip (we are big tippers) and left. I go to IHOP on Jericho Turnpike in Commack at least twice a week. Lately it is not the same Resteraunt. As of yesterday I am done. I informed the owner Andy and he couldn't care less. He lost a bunch of customers over a $8.00 coupon he would not accept. When he informed my friend and I he was not honoring the coupon he wanted to keep it to steak payment from Corporate. As for the service it is not what it used to be. The food takes forever and is usually cold. Suffice to say I will be taking my IHOP business To Hauppauge as will my friends. read more

Grandson was so cold, the obviously too tired waitress offered coffee,however when it come there was no spoons or stirrers on table., just knife and fork. By the time I found someone to ask for a spoon I drank cold and bad coffee. Last but not least, the service was terrible. My boyfriend and I continue to come back only because I love the strawberry Nutella crepe so much, but every time we come in there's something going on. Staff is talking openly about their tables whether they're "good or bad" customers, fighting in front of tables, one of the last times we came in, a worker came in to get his check and when told he wasn't able to pick it up at that moment he started yelling (I know the whole situation because it was THAT loud lol- wish I didn't though). This time instead of going in we wanted to utilize their online ordering app, I got the same thing I always get- banana Nutella crepe, no bananas add strawberries, my fault for not checking when picking it up, but when we got home they took off the Nutella all together, and just put bananas and strawberries on it. I could tell that my waiter doesn't know what proper hygiene is because it smelt like complete shit. This place does not even have a workers policy, which makes the employees not give a flying fuck about there job. My pancakes taste like elephant liver and the syrup was sticking to my body like bandaids. After I finished this excuse for a meal I finally got my check after another 20 minutes of waiting I was disgusted on the price. One look at the menu would tell you they act as if they are $15.99. The 2+2+2 is $8.99. At Dennys The Everyday Slam is $4.00. Not only is Dennys priced right, they give you a placemat to eat on. I was told by an employee that iHop stopped using placemats for adults years ago. So now we all had to place our utensils on the table. My family and I frequent this establishment often. And for good reason - they never seem to disappoint! Have you ever seen that episode of Family Guy where Stewie gets addicted to pancakes? "I want pancakes! Click-click-bloody-click pancakes!!!" Well now I can sympathize. Their pancakes are warm, moist, and fluffy. And when you marry that with the sweet golden brown syrup, it's practically heaven in your mouth. The eggs, hash browns, and ham are always perfect as well. I can't get enough. And this particular location has that extra dining room attached, something I don't always see in other IHOPs in the area, which makes it roomier and perfect when I go with my entire family. Went for brunch. Ordered two kid's menus : pancake eggs with bacon and waffle with chicken fingers. Then 3 adults ordered: Nutella and bananas crepes, Cheeseburger, Patty Melt. All food had a taste of old frying oil. Even the crepes and pancakes had that taste. Definitely NOT for regular visits. Seems unhealthy. My bacon was perfectly prepared but did have to be returned because they were not burned to my liking. We did request that the bacon be so well done that they would shatter.
