I've been to this location multiple times and generally you are seated very quickly and food is prepared in a timely manner. I'm specifically writing this review today because of the excellent service I received about an hour ago. A waitress named Debbie is hands down the best waitress I have ever had in columbia. She greeted us at the door with a smile and a very welcoming demeanor. She consistently had refills of our drinks ready and checked in with the table regularly, all with a smile and a friendly attitude. Thanks Debbie! read more

Poor service at this location. Stood waiting to put our names on the waitlist for 10 minutes, and 3 employees walked by and looked at my group without saying anything. One employee talked to another employee right in front of us without even speaking to us. She complained about how gross the menus were while sorting through them and not even paying attention to us. I love IHOP, but for some reason, the residents and visitors of Columbia seem to think this is the ONLY breakfast place in town. And lunch. It doesn't matter what time you go, if the sun's up, this place is packed. Be prepared to wait 30 min. most weekend mornings, particularly game weekends. But the food is great, it comes quickly and the wait staff are always on top of it and friendly. read more

I am a big fan of IHOP. I love their food and the staff have always been super friendly. If you go on Sunday mornings, you might have to wait for a seat. They change their menu around and add new things. Place could be a little cleaner at times, but the service is great. read more

Its a great place to go with your family. Our service has always been great even for a day like today. It was pancake day and also a fundraiser was being done for Childrens hosp. There was a long line at the door waiting for tables. We were at the end of the line and only had to wait about 6 min. for a table. Same for the people paying to get out. This is one of the better IHOP locations I have been to. The staff always seems to have a good attitude and have fun. The food is always good and relatively fast. One downside is the temperature control when the place gets busy around breakfast time, but it is not a terrible downside. read more

Service was great fast and friendly. However it was annoying. Our server and many other servers were talking very loudly from dining room to the other side. While he was cleaning tables or walking by he would be singing. Even the manager was sitting their doing an interview not saying anything!! Food was good. When we first sat down I heard an exasperated "great" from the wait staff. He complained loudly about various things being broken, that people had called in, eventually he did say he was sorry that our food took a long time. They were all complaining about many things in ear shot of customers. Also there were 5 tables it was 3:30 in the afternoon it should not have taken us 30 -45 minutes to get eggs, hashbrowns, and french toast. Also checking out has been a hassle twice before. They get almost upset when you pay with a card. Makes me not want to come back. read more

I rated this so high because the food was really good but the service was amazing. I don't think I have ever been to a restaurant where the employees were so happy and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. I arrived one evening, just a couple days after my birthday, to redeem my coupon for Free Birthday pancakes. I decided to add an order of Breakfast potatoes along with them. The server, Mitch, who was also training a new employee at the time, was very loud and rude! I'm pretty sure the whole entire restaurant heard him complaining about the low rate of pay, and how much he dislikes to go orders, and how people don't tip on to go orders. So rude!! Seriously.... everywhere I went for my birthday weekend, the service people were rude! The food was good, but the location is out of the way & difficult to get to, and the service sucks, so I won't be back. Everywhere I go the employees are rude, and I have to wait forever. Seems like most places are only nice to sit down customers. I had another coupon for a free stack, but I ended up throwing it away. I don't want to go back there again. I eat here a lot but last night makes me reconsider. Upon entering one of the "managers" gave me and my out of town guests a dry welcome. Which I brushed off. She made us wait due to one half of the restaurant being empty for whatever reason and the manager not willing to open I thought this was a 24 hr establishment?. Other guest came in as well. Instead of opening the other side due to the amount of ppl coming in she just continued doing whatever and saying she waiting on one of the other parties to finish up smh. We initially wanted a table for 5 but settled for 4 because we were hungry and didn't want to wait any longer literally after being left standing for over 25minutes! We even considered placing a order to go which it seemed the manager preferred but my guest op for the smaller table. My food was fine except my medium egg came out well done. My sisters both ordered steaks which were in properly cooked. Tasted freezer burnt and rubbery but looked raw :/. Approximately 15 minutes after asking for a manager a different manager from the one that dry greeted us came over and was very understanding and resolved the issues. She attempted to explain how the steak arrives on a truck twice a week so they have no control over the cut :( kinda gross but ok. But she still found a resolution so that was great. When we paid before exiting the manager that guards the door again showed no appreciation as she did with the customers that paid prior to us. I will return to IHOP because I do like their food, I just won't go late night. The staff/managers that works mornings are more alert and polite than the night crew. And shutting down 85% of the establishment because you may not want to wipe one extra table is unacceptable. read more

In my experience, there are good IHOPs and bad IHOPS. This is a great IHOP. We have eaten here several times and have never had a bad experience. It's clean and the service is attentive. We have had James as a waiter several times and he is always super friendly. The pancakes are so good that I think they must be laced with crack. The big steak omelet is bigger than my head. The only complaint I have is that Columbia desperately needs a second IHOP. There is often a half-hour wait after church on Sunday mornings! read more

I don't think anybody needs to be told how excellent IHOP is for breakfast. It is breakfast it is IHOP they are synonymous. But what I do think it is that restaurant ought to be commended for experiences and service that goes beyond on the mark. My server today's name is D'Angelo and he did an excellent job he also sang happy birthday to the people sitting next to me and he had a beautiful voice. The restaurant is full of people who seem to be happy to be there. I didn't feel that one of the servers was upset or in anyway unsatisfied with working there they are all smiling and happy and very gracious. So if you're having a great morning and you want to keep that going go to IHOP and ask for anyone to serve you. If you're having a bad morning definitely go to IHOP. read more

The service was absolutely amazing!!! Khiesha was the best server I have absolutely ever had. Then they sang happy birthday to a table next to me and it was a very creative song and very well sang. We have been there twice know and disappointed every time. The first time there was hair in my eggs, guess they don't wear hairnets! Second visit waited an hour with family finally got seated and ordered the new croissant with cream cheese and strawberries. The waitress brought me my plate the croissant was as white as my plate, was not even cooked all the way. It was awful, very doughy. You would think the waitress would of noticed how white it was that it wasn't done but she gave it to me anyway!! WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!! read more

I know IHOP is a chain restaurant & I have fond memories of their pancakes as a child--the Columbia location is terrible! We visited IHOP today & after waiting for 30 minutes for our food, I approached the manager saying we needed our food soon in order to avoid being late to a medical appointment. We were told 2 big orders were before us. Then 20 minutes later our food arrived. I was enraged as others received food before us. No discount or apology was offered. I recommend Broadway Diner or Cracker Barrel for breakfast while in Columbia. read more
