Quality has gone wayyy down. I ordered chicken and waffles, fish with fries, onion rings through Uber who I do not blame in any way. The fish and chicken arrived less than 30 minutes of ordering at room temperature hard and dried out, tasted like they were at the tip of spoilage. I THREW THEM IN THE GARBAGE. The fries were oily old and had no taste and oddly spongy. One bite of the onion rings revealed they had spoiled. The waffle was soft like bread and light brown in color I ate some of it but threw the rest away. I refuse to eat out anymore I don't want to risk my health. I'll go back to TV dinners again, at least there is some supervision over quality and they tell you what's in them. $69.00 paid for nothing. BE WARNED!!!. read more

I used to come here all the time when I worked in Wrigleyville. I loved the Mega Monster Cheeseburger, which they apparently discontinued (found that out when I tried to order it today). Anyway, I ordered a double cheeseburger with NO onions and wanted bacon added. When I received my order, it had onions on it and no bacon. I went back in and let them know and said I didn't want the patty that the onion had touched. I watched them, and I am 98% sure that they put the same patty on the burger because it had not even been 5 minutes since I came back in to get the order corrected, and they supposedly cooked a new patty within that 5 minutes. The cooks seemed annoyed and irritated, but they're the ones who didn't read the order correctly. The place is increasingly dark with very dim lighting , as if they are closed when you walk in. there's only one waitress, and when I went to order I had switched booths. After a hardy night, we built up an appetite by moving a couch up 3.5 flights of stairs when we were fully sober. I don't understand this business thinking. I go there for the sampler breakfast which I really think is a value and which is quite good. Their watered down, lifeless coffee spoils the entire meal. I used to patronize this place quite a bit on weekend late nights. Always an unique crowd. Paul the waiter was always great. The "Boystown" crowd of East Lakeview rarely disappointed with the interesting cast of characters. Went for a late breakfast on a Sunday afternoon, oh my waht a production. Only (minor) disappointment was she did not bring warm syrup with our pancakes. "The kid"-Nice youngish man with hairstyle with rows with tips. She to be a jovial chap who was hard-working and conscientious. Tried to help out with seating and was overall very helpful to his coworkers. "The villain"-Dymond. A complete B@#%h to her coworkers, spent most of her time whining at the cashier stand. Threw her teammates under the bus when talking to a table. A cancer on the staff. After a drunken Prince Night at Berlin, I was treated to the glory that is GayHOP. I walked in blathering something about a special room, and the hostess told me I could use the "F**k yourself room." I was in heaven! My best friend and I sat down to wait for the rest of our crew. When they arrived, another part of our party had a table on the other side of the restaurant. IHOP let us KEEP OUR SERVER and move to the other side of the restaurant -- awesome because our server, Shell, was the best in the world. The food was delicious and hot. Horrible restaurant. Ordered pick up, when I got there, no one had even taken my order slip out of the machine yet. Three employees were sitting at a table chatting and ignoring me. One guy finally found my order and then had to search for someone out back to come and cook it! When I got home, I discovered he left out the cheese in my omelette, left out the hashbrowns, and gave me white toast instead of multi grain. Having returned from an international trip we were jet lagged and looking for an breakfast at 3:30am. We debated between a few greasy spoons aka traditional diners and IHOP. In a whim, we picked the latter. I hadn't been to an IHOP in a few years and was pleasantly surprised by the improved quality of the food. Portion sizes were smaller than what I remember and the quality a lot better. I got a Tuscan scramble with their red potatoes and a side of whole nut pancakes. The potatoes were fresh and crispy while pancakes tasted nice and healthy. My wife ordered chicken and waffles and she too enjoyed her meal. When I sauntered in after a screening of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968), the handsome host looked familiar... and then he said his name. Salah. I was privileged to have him serve me last year. He served me again tonight. I broke my vegan diet to commemorate a deceased friend's birthday. So I slummed it with vegetarianism. I got some decaffeinated coffee, a spinach/mushroom omelette (the hollandaise was better than expected, but not sublime). And I got the pumpkin cinn-a-stack pancakes on the side. The only thing that could've made the experience better was if Salah himself were on the menu. STAY AWAY!!! I reported this experience to the health department. I wish that I could give this location 0 stars. I went there with my 4 kids around 2PM on a Monday. It was busy. We were immediately taken to a table then forgotten about for at least 20 minutes. Then the 1 waitress that was waiting on tables (the other was drying dishes) asked if we needed anything else. I jumped up and showed the waitress. She asked me to sit down and she'll have the manager come and speak to me. He did and I was disappointed to see him.
