As someone who has eaten a pancake or two in my 73 years, I know a good pancake when I eat one, I recently stopped by my local IHOP for a late breakfast and let me tell you--this spot nailed it. The restaurant was buzzing but not chaotic. Server absolutely did a stellar job. In a world where service can be haphazard, this IHOP crew reminded me why the chain has stuck around for decades: reliable comfort food served quickly. If you are craving breakfast for any hour, find a spot like this because these folks did an excellent job. 4/5 stars, and I will be back! We went there yesterday for a late lunch. We both ordered the pesto egg white omelette with fruit. We decided to get an order of toast to share. We were very, very disappointed when our order of toast arrived as it was only one slice of toast. We were expecting two slices. We were even more shocked when the one slice cost $2.99. When we questioned our waitress, she confirmed an order of toast only one slice. You can buy a loaf of bread for $2.99. Needless to say we will never order toast again at IHOP. I gave this place two tries, one in store and the second 'curb side' showed up and the notification on the app said they'd be right out, 30 minutes later, after seeing multiple employees mind you, I go inside and ask about my food. 'Oh it's right there' says the waitress, ' I ordered curbside' 'oh it doesn't tell us when you show up, so you have to come inside' so I get my food after basically being blown off by the terrible service, my food is super cold and soggy by the time I get back home. If I had the say the ambiance of the entire experience would exude, I'd say rude, inconsiderate and downright a terrible experience. It was pretty busy, packed for a Friday morning. 2025, "we" still walk into some business establishments and hosts still act like black people are going to bite them. The host greeted everyone else as they walked in. I waited and watched to see how long it would take before i was assisted. I stepped to the counter and spoke with one finally. Rating a restaurant is a little different in these Covid times. Everyone has different thoughts about how careful a place should be or not be. We actually expect a restaurant to be considerate of their customers. Sometimes I think we are in the minority in many places. The Casa Grande area is one. Only one server in the restaurant was wearing a mask. The others sure weren't into social distancing either. Our server took our order timely but we never saw her again, never. We were not checked back on about our meal or if we didn't refills on our drinks. Other servers had to bring our check and finally we asked another one to take pay our bill. If leaving no star was an option then I would. A pre-cooked steak it's not even hot inside with warm gravy over the top and undercooked eggs soaked in butter. Server drops food at the table and then just comes back to drop off the check. Has to be one of the worst experiences in a restaurant that I have had in a very long time. The lady who took out order seems not liking us because we are Asian. In the beginning she never greets us, never smile. I am 75 years old with my son and since I cannot eat a lot due to my Gerd I order a small menu from the senior menu. As soon as waiters left my son saw an ad on the window about pancake with bacon and eggs for $7. promotions same I order for more money. So I immediately called the waiter and I told her if I can order the promotions instead. Right away she said no the kitchen already cooking your order. It is impossible because some usually IHop not fast in bringing the food on the table. I went to the front to asked for the manager, but the waiter interfere and won't let me talk to the manager. She said I will go to the kitchen to tell the cook to change your order but very rude. I want to leave the restaurants at that point, but my son is hungry, and we drove from our home in Scottsdale to go to Tucson. She brought our order but not happy face and then I decided to ask her that we are just going to eat in the car. She gave me a receipt with no detail of my order just $23.00 and I did not give her a tip and I put on the received a note not happy on her service. I asked her what the detail of my order and I is show her the receipt and in a loud voice she said you did not give a tip so I cannot put what you order.
