We usually love ihop when we go in person. We ordered it on door dash and was so disappointed in the food we got!!! They took shortcuts and it was horribly cold. None of us ate it read more

Walked in at 9 pm. No other people in the place. They were out of ice cream, salad, hamburgers and waffles. our food came out in 15 minute increments between individual meals. When we did get the food it was meh. Couldn't leave fast enough. Go anywhere else. read more

Employees take a bit long to get to your table, take your order and check in on you from time to time. So be prepared to wait, but overall the food is the same. French toast was pretty good. Grilled cheese, as usual, was good, and I got the seasoned fries too! Located in it's own lot, with ample parking, next to a hotel. read more

Food was good. Servers NEED work on customer service skills. Some items ordered did not make it to the table but were on the bill.

I'm usually not one for chain restaurants, but nothing in Carlsbad was open for memorial day besides IHOP. Service - Despite it being super busy, the wait wasn't very long and the server was very attentive. Food - IHOP has always been fairly solid for me and this place did not disappoint! I had a crepe combo while my boyfriend had the french toast combo. We chose the least sweet of the options and were pleasently surprised and well done everything was including the egg and hashbrowns. Overall, if you're in town and looking for local food but everything's closed, IHOP isn't too bad of a place to stop by. read more

First of all, No Covid restrictions at all or masks. Thats good. But this location is really bad in terms of food quality. Long wait and bery poorly prepared food. Waitress was very nice, but that is it. I habe to say avoid it. read more

If I could put zero I would. The food was mainly burned or cold, and the sweet tea tasted like grape medicine. The service was unattended and slow. WILL NOT COME BACK! read more

I want to start by saying that I normally LOVE Ihop. We are in Carlsbad, NM. My husband ordered.from the website to do Curbside Pickup. He gets to the restaurant and for 10 minutes, the phone is busy. He gets out, goes INSIDE and after checking the order, hands it BACK to the young man, shows him the receipt, which MATCHES our e-receipt. The young worker takes the bags back. He's gone for 5 minutes or so & comes back to the counter. ASSUMING they corrected the order, my husband leaves, drives BACK TO THE HOTEL. As we begin to unpack the food, not only had the order not been corrected, NOW we are ALSO missing food!!!!! My hash browns & my niece's French Toast aren't there. There's Toast that noone ordered, & I have sausage (that I can't eat) instead of bacon!!!!!! I try to call, intending to ask them to use door dash & send the missing food. As I'm steadily getting a BUSY SIGNAL AGAIN, Mike realizes that the food we did get is Ice Cold. WE are moving cross country. He has to go back to iHop because noone will answer the phone pulling a UHaul trailer!!!! Now it's nearly 10 p.m., None of us have eaten after driving 10 hours today. I'd also like to.point out...they were NOT Busy. This is utterly ridiculous!!!! I sincerely hope that corporate and/or the franchisee reads this. I'd love a call at 480-321-6668. But quite frankly, I'm not holding my breath. Might just be my last trip to ANY Ihop. read more

Save yourself! Go to the store buy some doughnuts. If you do that. You wont have to wait an hour to be seated, wait another half hour for your oder to be taken, wait another 15 min for silverware after your food arrives and some unknown wait for the bill. We left the money on the table and didn't wait to leave. read more

After a long day , wanted something clean to eat , we walked in to the restaurant and the Manager from another facility came out and greeted us apologizing due to all employees and managers not showing up , he clearly could see we worked all day , he went back and cooked for us and made sure everything was ok , what a great gesture. Thank you "Joe" read more

Facility is Mismanaged! This restaurant is located in a town whose majority residents are of the oil and gas industry. With that being said, the industry gets an earlier start than does the majority of other businesses and occupants in the area. The restaurant has 24 hrs posted on it, but fails to be open from late evening until mid morning. This facility is missing out on a lot of potential revenue. They also charge for every add item. I asked for a some onions in my hash browns and it was an added $.99. Another patron asked for some mayo and it as well was an added $.99. The Host or Hostess stays in the back visiting or helping out, I'm not really sure of which. But there's always a wait before they come out from around the corner. The waitress staff is hit or miss, some are nice others are not so much. Bottom line is this facility could potentially be so much more to this community if they would change management team and staff up with added waitstaff. read more

Ordered a couple senior meals- desolate greeting area. No one there-took a bit to be acknowledged. "Server" brought the food out, set it down, and walked away! Was going to tip, but didn't-felt like I was interrupting something. At least the food was cooked. Service, price, quality- can't have all three... Good night all. When can I post this review. Too many characters required-easy to leave a review, but not here. Ambiance of a post apocalyptic vacant eatery read more

We went in and saw all kinds of signs saying they were short staffed. However, we were seated in less than 5 minutes. There were like 2 ladies holding it down, the place wasn't packed but definitely alot for 2 workers to handle alone. Yet they did! We got our food shortly after ordering, and the hostess/waitress/server was very nice and helpful. The food was really good, I was worried when I read the reviews beforehand, but I did not experience anything worthy of leaving a negative review. Waitress lady, if you are reading this, you are doing a great job and deserve a raise/promotion for sure! No regrets visiting this IHOP during our mini trip to the caverns! read more

I really can't give a true review because we didn't actually get to eat. Upon arriving for breakfast, and after waiting too long for a hostess to greet us, we were told the one and only cook never showed up. This chain is too big for that to happen. Plus there was broken decor in the lobby and too much trash around the parking lot. read more

Took over an hour and 10 minutes for our food. Cold.....yay. Then another 15 minutes for our bill read more

I gave them five stars just because they try so hard. It's hard to get help here in boom town. About a third of the tables were empty yet people were waiting to be seated. The manager kindly explained he wouldn't sit more than the wait staff could handle at a time. And that wait staff was attentive and pleasant instead of frazzled. Food was.....IHOP.....standard IHOP breakfast. We left a good tip for a gracious grateful waitress. In a town not known for good service we were very surprised. Most of the local restaurants try very hard with a limited labor pool. Most other chains don't do as well as IHOP did. read more

This places sucks. Go anywhere else. We went around 2pm. Only a handful of customers there but still waited to get a seat. The place was DISGUSTING. Almost all of the empty tables were covered with dirty dishes and the floor was covered with food. The waitress was pleasant but slow and distracted (stoned?). By the time we left (much later than I wanted) there were still no customers and not one table had been cleaned. These kids need adult supervision. I wouldn't go again if you paid me. read more

IHOP - 2x2x2 plate with bacon and scrambled eggs ($4.99). - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Carlsbad, New Mexico

I love IHOP. I always order the same thing: Colorado omelettes with Tres Leches pancakes or Cinnamon pancakes. Every IHOP I've been to, quick, easy, and tasty. This is the very first and only IHOP I ever walked out from. They made me wait 30 minutes after I already sat on a table and nothing. No good. No service. No follow up. No, "Hey, how you doing? Sorry for the wait." Nothing. After 30 minutes, waiter finally comes up to me and says, "Sorry for the wait. You'll have to wait a little longer." What?! The place wasn't even full. It wasn't even half full. I've seen IHOP stacked and I get attended quicker than this. Oh yeah, as soon as I sat down of course the waiter did take my order. I ordered HOT chocolate milk and I get iced chocolate milk. On top of that, the glass reeked of fried/scrambled eggs. I'm so mad. Never ever had I such a horrible experience in IHOP before! Unbelievable! And to top off the insult, it was so nerve racking to see everyone, and I mean everyone being attended at least 2-3x, and everyone got their food but me. I'm a quiet guy, mild mannered. It was unreal, and the waiter's excuse was "I'm sorry, but we are piled with To-Go orders." What the hell am I? Chop liver? Their priorities are all out of whack, and it doesn't help they move slow. These people would never have their jobs in NYC. Fired in 1 hour. Ridiculous these people read more

Food wasn't bad, but the bathrooms were horrendous. Literally unusable, 2/3 were plugged. They had wet floor signs up but they definitely haven't been moped in a long time. read more

this place was disgusting. the crapes were made terribly. my cousin had a hair in her pancakes it was black and blonde and short, but she has long black hair. we told the waitress and she went to the back and started laughing making fun that there was a hair in her food. then she continued to say "it was her hair" and the other employees started laughing. never coming back. read more

Food was cold and they forgot my French toast. Exactly the vibes I was looking for. Five stars

This IHOP is in shambles. We walked in the restaurant at 9:20, it is now currently 10:55 and our food has just been officially ordered. Our waitress forgot to put our meal orders in the system, after 55 minutes of waiting for our food we found out it had never been put on a ticket. Now we are hoping we can leave without having waited two hours. read more

Never had water refilled except once by someone who wasn't our waitress. Chicken tenders were rock hard. Not very clean feeling.

This was the worst service ever set 10 minutes after giving a drink order never got them. The waitress seemed pissed off that we even got set in her area. ROACHES! As soon as we sat in our booth a baby roach was crawling around in our table top! We left immediately!

Awful service. Waited 15 minutes to get greeted by a server and then another ten minutes for the orange juice I asked for. Food also took very long to come out. Never got a water refill either. read more

Only doing this review because after reviewing the reviews, I thought the reader needed the truth. This place is busy. Servers have bad days like the rest of us. Some people call in sick, and others have to pick up the slack until someone is called in. Let's be honest. This place doesn't suck as bad as it seems. The customer service I experienced today was way better than described in here. The food was exactly how I had imagined (franchised). This place was no more different than the ones anywhere else. I was pleasantly surprised with my experience, after reading the reviews. read more

The worst service ever, I tried giving this ihop 3 different try's. Be prepared to wait about an hour and a half for service and another hour for your eggs. read more

Walked in expecting the usual IHOP experience. Long waits, slow waiters, subpar food. However, I was proven wrong almost immediately! No wait at all, our server Mandie was probably one of the best servers I've ever had(Kind, attentive, efficient, observant) and the food was great too! Pleasantly surprised by this ihop! read more

We were skeptical about eating at this location after reading the reviews, but there aren't many options in this town. We were pleasantly surprised! It was slammin' busy at 11:30 on a Sunday morning, but they got us seated in about 15 minutes. The waitress(Erika) was incredibly attentive and friendly. Our food arrived in a timely manner and was delicious. The manager rang us up as we were leaving and inquired about our experience, making sure we were satisfied with the food and service. The reason for 4 stars is because the restaurant was a little dirty. They didn't seem to have any bussers at all, which is necessary on a busy weekend morning. The waitstaff and hostesses were doing the bussing, so they were behind, and the place looked a little rough as a result. All-in-all a very pleasant breakfast experience! read more

This place is awful. There were about 2 other people in the whole restaurant, so we were seated immediately and they took our orders soon after. Drinks came out a minute later. After about 30+ minutes someone finally walks by and we ask where our food is. They apologize and disappear. Our server comes by and apologizes for completely forgetting about us and informs us our pancakes will be free. After about 5 more minutes we finally get our food and I unwrap my silverware. My fork was all sticky. Just don't go here. Go to one of the fast food joints instead. read more

My husband and myself decided to eat here and it wasn't a good experience at all. The service was poor. I ordered a simple omelette it came out cold so I let our server know she took the plate microwave it and bright it back. If I wanted microwave food I could have leftovers from home. I don't recommend this place at all and to top it off someone's purse was sitting on the window were our food came out!!! The general manager came to our table and didn't introduce himself he said " can I help you?" Keep in mind he look like a duty customer. I asked him "who are you?" he then expressed he was the GM. He was rude as well and seemed bothered to even have to offer to me new food. Clearly they didn't understand the assignment. read more

After several attempts, I have to give these guys 2 stars. They always mess up the order and never want to fix it. :-( read more

Well I was hoping some of the other reviews would have been blown out of proportion or exaggerated, but I was wrong. From the curb, it is in a brand new area, new subdivision and new building, so I had hi hopes. I saw that it was 7:30 and yet there were hardly any patrons. I was sat right away, but waited over 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a waitstaff member or greeted, while 2 waitresses stood at a nearby table flirting with a table of young oilfield workers. Once my waitress did arrive, she was relatively prompt on getting my milk and I had my order ready right away. The food came out relatively quick and tasted good. I originally started out this review at a 1 or 2 star but my waitress bailed them out once she knew inward there. Wouldn't be my first choice to return, but I think it is getting better compared to the other reviews I read. read more
