Exactly what I expected. The double blueberry pancakes were delicious. I enjoyed trying the different syrups. Our server Arienna was delightful. read more

First off let me say I don't usually leave one star reviews, however this place deserves it. We walked in and were seated quickly and shortly after the waitress came and got our drink order, tea for me and coffee with creamer for her. Our drinks arrived but no creamer. Bobbie got her attention and she said she would bring it right over. Nope had to ask 3 more times so her first cup was black. We ordered and soon our food arrived, scrambled eggs for both her with bacon me the sampler plate with hot cake. Not sure what happened with the eggs but they had a strong vinegar taste and Bobbie got double mine, it was like the cook did the eggs together, which is fine but devide them correctly. I grabbed the salt and pepper shakers and almost got up and walked out. The top of the pepper was, to say the least, nasty (see picture) I didn't use them. I had to ask 3 times for more tea and finally got it after I finished. It was easily the worst experience at an IHOP. Don't get me wrong, I know IHOP isn't great food, but this was a new low. I would not go back to this place at all. read more

Avoid this IHOP. I came in with my 4 hungry children expecting a quick, simple breakfast. Instead, we waited over an HOUR for basic eggs and pancakes while being served by Ayana. When I politely asked Ayana for an update on our food after waiting over an hour, her response was shocking: "What do you want me to do, go in the back and help cook? You're making me feel bad. This is not my fault." Wow. At no point was I blaming her personally. I simply wanted to know why my children had been sitting hungry for over an hour. Rather than showing empathy or professionalism, she became defensive and acted as though I was the problem for asking a reasonable question. What makes it even worse is that the restaurant was practically empty. There was no packed dining room, no line out the door, and no obvious reason for such an extreme delay. The kitchen clearly wasn't overwhelmed with customers, which made the wait even more frustrating and difficult to understand. When the food finally arrived, I asked to speak with the manager, Paul. He admitted that nobody should have to wait an hour for their meal and assured me I would receive a discount. After all that, the "discount" on a $66 bill was a laughable $5. If management truly believed the service was unacceptable, that discount certainly didn't reflect it. The entire establishment was poorly managed. The internet was also out so our order had to be repeated 3 times! We could hear employees yelling at each other from the kitchen and even threatening to beat each other up. Hearing staff argue and make threats while trying to eat with children is completely inappropriate and speaks volumes about the environment behind the scenes. The food was mediocre, the service was unprofessional, management offered little more than lip service, and the overall experience was one of the worst I've had. An hour wait for eggs and pancakes in an almost empty restaurant, a defensive response when asking about the delay, employees threatening each other in the kitchen, and a token $5 discount on a $66 bill. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. read more

IHOP - Receipt - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Carlsbad, New Mexico

Absolute worst service I've ever had. Waited 20 minutes to get service for drinks and over an hour before food. Place was not busy. Never had any refills on drinks until after food came at the end. Others around us came in after us and were getting served. We just got looked at. Would've left but we brought a guest who really wanted to eat ihop. Food was ok. Won't be back. read more

Looked to be multiple wait staff in the restaurant but only 1 of them was actually helping customers, of which there was 2 tables at 5pm. The food looked correct but we dont eat at IHop that often to know if anything was off. We had breakfast food and it still took 20+ minutes for the food to come out, after waiting 45inutes to order. Go almost anywhere else to eat. read more

Came last night, oh wait we are not from the area..... and we are staying near by. While driving by the other day on Sunday my hubby noticed this restaurant is open 24hrs according to the sign outside. Keep in mind on line it states closed at 10:00pm Ok So yesterday we came in at 9:30pm and we were asked to leave because it was closed already lol. Ummm oooookkkk. Soo witch one is it??? No bother we went elsewhere and not reading all the reviews, very glad we did. read more

Their service first of all the food as well everytime I go I'm waiting for a while to be acknowledged. The environment is always like that even when not busy (not friendly or in order). Food takes longtime to come out. read more

the staff aren't attentive we saw our waiter once to order and she brought us the food and receipt and was missing items from the meal.

The food was cooked just the way my family and I wanted it to be, the service was very nice though our waitress's birthday was today and she had to work, but overall it seemed like a great restaurant! 4 stars read more

My review:The chicken burger was dry and cold. My mom thinks she has food poisoning now and the food took to long I think is was 2 hours, we got there at 5:50 we got it at 7. 1 star . My cousin: okay so what the fuck did I just eat pancakes took 2 hours to arrive and by the time they did it was the wrong type 2nd off they were dry, cold, and tasted horrible I would rather eat dog shit it also was 71 bucks the waiters might as well have been the chefs because I don't know if the chefs were high or what 1 star read more

The reviews make it seem like it's hit or miss and we landed at the right time. We were seated almost immediately and the server was excellent. The glasses looked nasty but the food was good. It took about an hour but it was fairly crowded also so we just rolled with it. The food was exactly what we expected and we have no real complaints. I'd eat here again. read more

1st time at this location, and I have grave warnings for you. The positive is the waIt staff. They work hard to keep you hydrated. However, this is a restaurant, and the expectation is that there is food here. We were seated promptly and put our order in quickly. An hour and 15 minutes later, we were finally served. The order had been changed by the manager/cook, and we were informed only when we asked about it. My husband ordered a burger and onion rings while I got the country fried steak and eggs. His order was switched to home fries-not even French fries-and I never got the accompanying pancakes. His home fries tasted like fish and burger was cold. We were charged the full amount. No offer of a break on the order for missing elements was offered. We payed and figured that's the price of a lesson. Beware. If you have an hour plus and want to play Russian roulette with your order then this is your place to dine. read more

I seriously wish there was a zero star. My family and I went in for breakfast. There was only a few people in this restaurant. It took about an hour and a half before we finally just walked out. We asked the waitress what was taking so long And she said she would check. She went back to the kitchen and said that they are cleaning and cooking at the same time. We continued to wait. We watched other tables get served that came in after we did. So the wait continued. And our waitress did not check on us or give us an update. We finally got up and told them we had to leave, we were starving. My best advice to you is don't go to this restaurant in Carlsbad, New Mexico. I believe they need to have a real good look at the management there. Another interesting caveat is the waitress was telling the people at the next table. They did not have onion rings or french fries. read more

Food cold eggs - pancakes . , Service is good . PLace is clean, However manager didn't set up cash register - No change available. Sad

I Hop was crowded and very short staffed they even put a sign on the front door stating there short staffed so please be patient. But Melody the manager and her staff held it down. Seating everyone pretty quickly working together. We had our order taken quickly and the food came out shortly after that. It goes to show that with proper management and help with a great team anything can be accomplished. Food was good service was good and would definitely visit again read more

Terrible service and the waitress was chewing on her fingernails while taking the order

Literally one of the worst experiences. We waited for over an hour to get our food and literally no one else in the restaurant had theirs either. People were actively getting up and leaving. Clearly Carlsbad has a major service problem because this was a problem all weekend. Bring your own food. read more

Y'Know, I am not sure about all the negativity here. This is IHOP and the food is still consistent no matter where. Service was great. Melody was on her game and very friendly. Poblano Omelette was cooked well with good flavor. I'd come back here again for it. 3.5 stars read more

Zero stars! Customers beware! Do not eat here. Neither did we! Hostess was telling everybody, I was told to tell you when we seat you, there will be an hour wait time. Woah, like not wanting anyone there. Cook was yelling at employees. Servers get out of the kitchen!!! One chubby woman, April was just wandering around and never checked on anyone. But was quick to refill her pink water bottle. She was just strolling around. I felt bad for the older ladies moving faster than her. We left. read more

" pero solo paso caminando nunca se paro enfrente de la mesa. Nunca cambio el azúcar (se terminó) . La mecerá solo hablaba inglés entonces yo siempre le hable inglés pero entre nosotros hablábamos español (mi esposo y yo entre nosotros) para mi fue racista por que en otras mesas si pregunto si todo estaba bien varias veces. IHOP - VERY BAD SERVICE - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Carlsbad, New Mexico

Listen to the reviews. We waited 1 hr 45 min for food and order was wrong and subpar. Skip this one.

Good ihop food. We visited this ihop on a Sunday night, after we found out the chilis had almost an hour wait. We hesitated to try this ihop, due to reading negative yelp reviews. The place only had ~4 or 5 other tables of customers. We were seated right away. They were out of the Kraft Mac & cheese my child wanted to order from the kids menu, but he ended up liking the happy face pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs, one piece of bacon and one piece of sausage. Adults ordered omelets. My husband realized they forgot to give him the sour cream and salsa that was supposed to come with his southwest omelet, but said it tasted good without it. Our food overall was good, with no major problems. The food arrived ~20 minutes after we ordered it. We would go to this ihop again next time we are in Carlsbad. read more

This was the worst experience I have had at a breakfast restaurant. From the wobbly table, silverware that only had a knife, 20 minute wait to order drinks, the pancakes that didn't have the icing but a pound of cinnamon, table without syrup, and the manager screaming across the restaurant because a different server was ignoring guests. It may be one of the only places in town but I would skip it. read more

From the earliest days in which I can remember, like Walmart, IHOP holds sentimental value to me. My primary complaint as a chain is their dumbing down on portion sizes... The smell, sight and sounds all chimed to the same tunes as early as I could remember with a bit of that festive, fall cinnamon and pumpkin kick. I've always liked the varied flavors of syrup but I could have sworn the pancakes were larger back in the day. The service was pleasant and I didn't have to wait much at all for my food, refills or service in general. Popped in while waiting for a new trailer tire across the street it wasn't a bad experience at all and the pumpkin spice pancakes left me wanting more. Eggs, rehydrated hash, bacon and sausage were... Average. read more

I can see why it got as many stars as it did (based solely on the service alone). We waited for several minutes at the hostess stand before someone even acknowledged us. For a Friday night, it was pretty empty. I was torn between pancakes and other, but overheard from.abitger table that they were out of the churro pancakes. So, next option... Both of us got the stacked BLT (my go-to). There was the option of fries, fruit, onion rings, pancakes, and hash browns as the side, of which I chose the hash browns. Standard prices. Our server didn't come by much to check on us and the server for the other table spent most of his time standing there telling his life story to the table he was serving. But, the atmosphere of early 60s jukebox music? Priceless. read more

I should have read the reviews before eating here. We were staying next-door, and, of course the hotel was serving children's food. We stopped at IHOP on the way to the Carlsbad cavern. The waitress was wonderful and working her butt off serving the entire restaurant by herself. We could hear the Cook shouting at her and he sounded like kind of a jerk. The food looked OK, though, the pancakes were barely warm The worst part of the meal was the digestive catastrophe that followed. It didn't hit me until I was about a quarter of the way through the Carlsbad caverns, which is supposed to take 45 minutes. I took my daughter and We emerged two hours later, as I had to stop frequently to pray for sweet death. It was in the 60s inside the caverns, however I sweated profusely the entire time. Several people asked me if I was OK. I wasn't. Two hours later I stumble to the surface. My parents had been preparing to send out a search party. All I really needed was a bathroom. There is a wonderful place called the Pecos River Grill just down the street. For the sake of your intestinal health please go there. We loved the waitress, but one women can only do so much.. read more

BELIEVE the bad reviews! Our visit started out bad and went downhill from there. The hostess went to seat a single person and then disappeared for 5 minutes. When it was our turn, Kyler seated us in an area where there was no server. A couple that came in after us was seated across the aisle and they had to tell their waitress that WE still haven't been served so their waitress yells out, "Emma!" and goes to look for her. The neighboring waitress comes back a few minutes later and tells us that Emma is working a big party in back and "will be right here." Still no Emma. Meanwhile, Kyler comes back and offers to get us coffee. At least we have coffee. Then Robert comes over and tries to take our order, by hand, on a piece of printer paper, with a pencil. 2 minutes later Emma shows up and asks to take our order.... Then we wait. And wait. And wait. Emma stops by every 20 minutes or so and asks if she can get us anything. I tell her, "just our food." After 90 minutes go by, Emma repeats her mantra again, I reply again and she says she'll go check with the kitchen. Emma never returns. We leave $5 for the coffee and walk out. Robert and Kyler are leaning on the podium at the front and I tell them, "90 minutes and no food???" They just shrug like this is normal for this restaurant. If I had to guess, the restaurant has no manager and definitely no leadership. It's almost as if a handful of kids pooled their babysitter money and decided to start a restaurant without having any idea how to run a restaurant. The only reason this restaurant has a rating average above 0.5 is that Yelp doesn't offer Zero stars. Choose a different place to spend your money. read more

NEGATIVE 5-STAR REVIEW. Went in and were the only customers in the parking lot. We waited for about 6 minutes and no one came up to greet us. I went to use the restroom because we were traveling and there was feces smeared all over the toilet seats. There were numerous tables that had dirty dishes on them. They obviously were not slammed at 6:53pm since we were the only ones there. There was no excuse for the filth and lack of any type of service. After seeing other review, this place just needs to be shut down and put out of it's misery. read more

Have lived in Carlsbad for 10 years and it's been going to crap lately since COVID hit. with all the waiting times and the insufficient and inconsistent, chef, and staff. Ordered on DoorDash this morning about 3 to 4 families left said they waited a couple hours. Got my DoorDash order after 45 minutes of waiting I didn't even get what I ordered so I paid extra for no reason ham tasted so disgusting I couldn't even eat it which was very odd to me and now I have food poisoning.
