Breakfast was good, great service and good atmosphere. Had hot tea which has been missing at other restaurants. Not a fan of most IHOPs but this one was great! Went at 5 am and fairly busy. read more

None of the waitresses wear their masks properly, some speak within 1-2 feet of customers with no mask. Last two times I've gone the wait has been really long and they didn't get my order right. Go somewhere else. read more

Horrible service and they make you wait up to an hour and a half for your food and when they brought my food it was so cold I sent it back and was brought food in minutes but then the chicken I ordered was BURNT! I gave up and peeled away the burnt skin and ate what I could but that was nothing. Staff are unprofessional and not even dressed appropriate ( hair everywhere and torn clothes) this is an IHOP but not a well taken care of one! read more

Don't do it 1 hr 20 min and still no food but girlfriend won't let us leave in fear of waiting another hour somewhere else. Place isn't even busy drinks are empty and no food. Waitress' tip will be a note on a napkin that says "your customers pay your rent take care of them" I'm hungry I'm thirsty and I'm mad read more

IHOP - No food empty drink :( - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Carlsbad, New Mexico

Unlike other reviewers, I had a positive experience at this IHOP. We were so hungry after staying at Carlsbad Caverns till 10pm. IHOP is one of a few places open 24 hours in Carlsbad. When we stepped inside around 11pm, we were greeted right away by the hostess and we had a great waiter. The food came out fast and my pancakes were delicious. read more

We've been there several times, as there are limited options in Carlsbad and IHOP offers* the children eat free thing. The food is meh... just like every other IHOP. However, this last time we went, the manager refused to honor the Kids Eat Free thing, even though we qualified for 1 child's meal. She didn't give a reason beyond "the register won't let me"... no apology, nothing. stupid manager bested by a machine? or horrible customer service? I say both. When I wrote an email of complaint to the IHOP website, I got a response in a few days from a rep in Lubbock saying he'd get back to me soon. Its now been 3 weeks.... and nothing. Screw these people. You can eat at home for cheaper and tastier. Or simply drive 4 miles north and hit Denny's. They're nice. Update: After sending some follow-up emails, I finally got a response. They sent me a gift certificate and let me know that some "significant management changes" had taken place in the last few weeks. Let's hope that means that particular manager is no longer a manager.... maybe she went to the walmart next door.... read more

When we walked in the door we were greeted immediately and sat right away. I had high hopes some of the other crappy reviews wouldn't apply to us. Service was incredibly slow even though the place wasn't that busy. Husband had to wait to get his drink refilled (which he utterly detests). Waitress never came by to communicate a delay (which I utterly detest). Lol, ok, I take that back. The waitress came back to "check on us" to deliver our check. How nice of her. Food was decent (typical IHOP caliber), so it gets a 3-rating. Waitress and service gets a 1-rating, so I'm averaging it and giving a 2-rating overall. Bottom line: food is good but don't come here if you have somewhere else to be at a certain time. read more

Terrible service. The place is literally EMPTY and they still have a 30min wait time to get a seat. I wish the manager would step out of the office and see what their staff is doing. read more

BEWARE OF COCKROACHES!!! couple of of work for the pipe line an usually go to IHOP because the hours..needless to say we have been going all week there been a few mistakes during the week but nothing to complain about, holidays can be a little hectic. But if I can give them 0 starts I would! We had our son with us an while waiting for our food 2 cockroaches were going across the top of the bench. Waiter came out with our food we said no thanks because the cockroaches(live ones moving an showed him) then we all got up an left all he could say was ok have a good day. Needless to say we aren't going back. It's really does suck there food is awesome an if u get the right waitress it be a pleasant experience. But seeing the roaches made me sick read more

We had a positive experience here. Our party of nine only waited 5-10 mins to be seated. The waitress was pleasant and got most of our orders right. Furthermore, the food tasted great! I would return here if the opportunity presents itself. read more

They served my husband rancid pot roast. The end The service was fine however. I told our server that the food we got was bad and he didn't charge us. Luckily my husband didn't get sick!!! He even offered to get us something new and different but we were so grossed out we just left. Advice: go against what your mama told you and smell and inspect your food before you eat here. read more

Food was okay. Service was excellent. Bathrooms were disgusting. Is it just me or do all IHOP bathrooms lack care?

Only reason I'm giving it one star is because I can't give it zero. Had to wait an hour and a half to get my to go food and it was cold when I got it. Staff showed zero concern about what had happened. Have been there multiple times and had long waits and bad service every time. Worst IHOP I've been to hands down. read more

Listen here, you go to Ihop for breakfast or brunch. And from the experience of eating at Dennys each time I'm here for work, this Ihop breakfast service is topnotch for Carlsbad. Go to IHop instead of dennys.. pancakes are way better here too! read more

This place needs new management. Staff needs to be trained and operate in a much less lackadaisical manner. Tables are not bussed. Staff seems to be just standing around. This is a Thursday at 10:30 AM. Finally seated after the hostess tried twice to seat us at dirty tables when there were clearly clean ones across the isle. Two guys just standing around behind the front desk. Seated for 15 minutes before we saw a waitress. Restroom is a mess. Trash everywhere. Waiting for my pancakes. 35 minutes, no pancakes. Maybe they have no plates as the plates continue to sit on empty tables. The young waitress says "it's not my fault". 50 minutes and the pancakes arrive! They are of usual IHOP quality but semi-cold. Waiting for my check..... 15 minutes pass before my waitress appears in the dining area. They tell me that all of the checks have been erased and that I need to wait for the system to be rebooted. They can't do a hand ticket. Manager, who ought to be replaced, figures that we owe them $21.04. I give her the cash and leave. I should have read the previous reviews. I have never seen anything like this circus before! read more

This is the 3rd and last time I ever step foot in this place. 3time because it is next door the Fairfield Inn and it is easier than fighting the oil field traffic of Carlsbad. But they have no service. Short staffed, food takes forever to arrive and they honestly could care less. Probably going to walk out after waiting 50 min for the food to arrive. Word of warning, if you are hungry, short of time or just don't want you time wasted stay away, stay far far away. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! We came at just before 10pm on a Saturday night and about 70% of the tables had dishes on them (as the his boy (man) sat out front on his phone) and the other 30% needed to be wiped. The hostess said she'd have it cleaned and sat as without menus, meanwhile seating the party behind us with menus! The bus boy (man) apologized for it being his first day as he half assed cleaned the table! Yeah right, first day my ass. The floor was dirty, everything was dirty! We sat for about a minute and a half and decided to leave! If the lobby looked Ike that, imagine the kitchen. Sad thing is, the place is fairly new. Shame on you IHOP!! I'm thinking of calling headquarters it was so bad. read more

Ended up here after not getting any service at Yellow Brix. Next time I want great service, I'll save myself 30 minutes by coming straight here! read more

One would consider that IHOP is good in almost every location because the menu is the same. I wish I had read the reviews before we ate here. It is as bad as reported. My daughter's and I stopped in for Dinner. There were more flies then diners. The waitress was nice, but left us sitting and waiting when there wasn't anyone else at her tables. They didn't have the ingredients for our first 2 orders, so we had to change our orders. This is a reminder to myself to check the reviews and not have expectations about franchises. read more

On a recent visit, the staff appeared to be extremely unpleasant towards two customers who were mentally disabled. They were just as nasty towards someone with Down Syndrome and the service went down hill from there. How long can a business hope to last with such wonderful customer service skills? read more

The visit here was pretty solid. Our server was attentive, quick, and pleasant. She was great (not to mention that it was her first day on the job). She was being guided by a more veteran server who was also excellent. The food was good overall. However, it was pretty dirty and it looked like they didn't have enough staff to help bus the tables. read more

Slow as syrup and cold food everywhere you can see. coffee is bad to! Go to Denny's or something or Jimmys egg or cook it yourself!

Long wait to get a seat and then another for our food. There were good waitress all around except for ours. We saw her twice from the time we sat down and then left. Before we got our food everyone was complaining about half cooked pancakes and hash browns. We got or food and my fiancé's hash browns were hardly cooked at all, then they brought them back on the same plate with pieces of other food items in them. Not impressed at all. Won't be back. read more

Woooooooow nelly, let me tell you what. I have never waited over an hour for 3 people to be served in an establishment that was practically empty!! And to top it off I ordered a PLAIN hamburger and they brought me one with everything on it! And I asked for no cheese on my eggs and they served mine with ETRA cheese. And to top it off, our food was cold. No excuse for this poor service. IHOPE no one ever makes the mistake of going here. Side note, I've ordered take out and every time the food isn't done until 30minutes after expected time. This was my first time dinning in and I will never eat there in general ever again read more

Service sucks! Will not go anymore. Didn't even get waited on! read more

Don't Reccommend at all the food was so long to wait for after 2 hours our food had arrived and we didn't get what we wanted and some of our meals weren't even what we had ordered I think if didn't have the foods we wanted they should of told us on top of that they still made us pay the regular price of the food we didn't get read more

They need more than two waitresses in such a busy place , poor girls were stretched to the max!

Never go here. Worst ihop I've ever been too. Skimped is on food, manager refused to admit it. I've eaten at IHOP's plenty of time and it was obvious they are just lazy. Avoid this place and eat in Artesia if you are on the road. read more

So. So. So. So horrible. Just terrible. Only 5 tables in the restaurant, it took them 20 minutes to get a server to come take our order. It took forever to get our food & then they brought out only 3 of the 4 meals for our table. They acted like they were just going to go back and get the other plate. About 5 min later, they finally brought the 4th plate. The server who took our order blamed the other server for not timely taking our order & then blamed the cook for only getting 3 of 4 plates out. She then proceeded to bring the table behind ours' drink to us, dropped our ticket, & walked away. We asked the table behind us if it was their drink. They said it was & so we gave it to them. When they confronted the server, she denied doing it...more than once, saying "Nope." Another table on the other side of us got up and left because they sat forever without anyone taking their order. And my husband's first set of silverware had dried-on egg on the prongs. It was just the suckiest experience. The food was good, though. So, props to the cook. And the greeter was so sweet & is the ONLY reason we didn't sit for those 20 min without drinks. If you don't mind waiting or having an argumentative server, by all means, come on! I mean. After all, the food IS good...just really bad service. Retraining is needed. read more

I ordered a simple build your own sandwich with a Belgian waffle. The waffle's plate was hotter than the waffle itself, and my build your own breakfast sandwich only had 1 of the 2 ingredients I ordered. They explained that build your own really meant "Pick your topping" I explained, had you told me that when I ordered then I would have ordered the omelette. Top this off with a straw that was bent and very dirty (obviously stepped on) As I checked out the manager was very attentive, and genuinely concerned about the service. He alone earned 2 of the 3 stars read more

This used to be an ok place. The last two times I've gone the employees have completely ignored the front and after ten minutes of waiting to be seated I have given up and left. Twice was enough there won't be a third time. read more

Our food was absolutely insane! when my dad ordered an EGG omelet instead of it being made with egg it was made with freaking pancake batter. They didn't bring us some of our stuff to the point where we had to ask where it was. My burger looked like an medium rare steak i mean seriously is a burger supposed to be pink????? They put stuff on my mothers food that wasn't supposed to be on there read more

Due to Carlsbad's limited options this is one of the few weekend choices. Service is spotty, fair one trip poor the next. The food is your basic IHOP standard. I will say avoid the steak, thin cut and so soaked in a marinade that even rare it looks well done and poor taste. I tend to stick to the breakfast menu. read more

The only good thing about this place is we were seated pretty much immediately. We waited an hour for our food to get to the table and we only saw our waiter a total of 3 times. Didn't get any refills on drinks until we were about to get our food after that hour. No one acknowledged us or gave us any updates about anything. Then the waiter kept forgetting things and we never got everything or all our food. Also ask what they are out of before you order. They were out of almost everything. Doesn't even deserve a star. We were very close to walking out. read more

bad experience, we had party of 9, bad service, incomplete orders, had to ask "where is the rest of my order?? then they acted like i was asking for more than what was on photo. no refills, just bad experience. read more

Pure joy in the form of pancakes, that was what I thought I'd find. But there was so much more! Burgers and sandwiches and deserts and more. The people who work here are some of the most pleasant but efficient late night help I've ever met. There was the mysterious case of the missing child. Not our child, but one of the families at another table let their kids go to the restroom and only two came back. It was chaos, as you can imagine, and the ensuing maelstrom if police and IHOP staff made for an entertaining, if not terrifying half hour. The small boy was found hiding under a nearby table just before my Belgian Dark Chocolate Mouse arrived. We will definitely be back for the food and fun! read more

My family was ended up here at 10pm from a road trip. It was Thanksgiving night and the only option was this restaurant because it was the only place that was still open. We were very happy with our attentive waitress. The restaurant was clean, and they served the food fairly fast. The only compliant was that they were out of lettuce, so we couldn't order salad. read more

Service was slow for there only being four tables filled. Wait staff was rude and not attentive. There was some disturbing price discrepancies compared to other IHOPs that I have been to. I would recommend this only as a last ditch stop for breakfast. read more
