My initial review is purely based on the service. I've been a regular for a minute now and have noticed the shortage in staff. However, on my last visit we experienced a 15 - 20 minute wait in taking our order. We spoke with the front desk and was pleasantly surprised, his name was Rashawn. He apologized for the delay, took our order and assisted us until the meal was over. Rashawn was very professional, courteous and provided the best service we ever had at IHOP. He made the difference in this not being our last trip to IHOP. I sure wish they had more employees like him because in spite of the shortage of help there, he stepped up and made things right. Also, my salad was fresh and was as ordered, so very pleased he got it right. Again, the five stars is solely for the service we received that day, he's a true example of what customer service should be. Thank You Rashawn !! read more

IHOP has kinda gone downhill in the past 10 years.....Slightly below average IHOP. Food is meh. Service is meh. Ambiance is also meh. I have been to better IHOP's in terms of service, so this place got one less star. read more

This is one of my favorite Ihops in the area, It's never too crowded, the hostess/host, as well as different serve staff as you being en route to your seat. The customer service is top notch and everyone is definitely friendly and professional. My wife ordered the Egg white omelette (had spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes), and I added bacon, plus gluten free pancakes and coffee. I ordered the omelette with Green peppers & onions, roasted tomatoes, spinach, cheddar cheese, bacon, sausage with a side of scrapple; also with those delicious stack of 3 buttermilk pancakes. Everything was absolutely delicious... Please stop by if you're in the area! read more

Ordered food in advance and it wasn't ready when I arrived. Once I arrived I wasn't greeted, in fact I was ignored by a couple staff members. Food was ready about 15 min after I arrived and it wasn't even hot. Bad service, especially since it was pretty much empty.Hashbrowns had a funny taste to them as well. Pancakes and impossible sausage were good read more

Keisha was great! Service was attentive and fast. Had the BLT and pancakes. Would order again.

Victoria provided excellent customer service and we received our food quickly. We look forward to dining again when we return to the area.

We were served by Melody, who was polite and eager to assist us. The food was decent--everything was eaten, so no complaints there. I had was hesitant about coming at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. Now, I wouldn't mind coming back again. A job well done today. read more

Don't Eat at the I-Hop in Bowie, MD: ------‐------------------------------------------ I reported this problem to Uber Eats. There was some type of trash, hair or material in my omelet. I almost threw up. How in the HELL did this happen? The foreign non-food item was in my omelet. I ordered my food from I-Hop on Uber Eats. I found the foreign object in my food while I was eating it. I feel sick and disgusted. I've never had this problem before in all the years I've eaten from here. I am so grossed out. read more

Joy and Dave Chapelle were a pleasure to work with. I came here late night because it was one of the only restaurants open and I received great service. Joy was an absolute pleasure to work with, and there was a cook that stepped outside during his lunch break, but went immediately back to cook as soon as I came in during his break, which was absolutely amazing. I didn't get his name, but he looked exactly like Dave Chappelle so I'm gonna call him Dave Chappelle. I appreciate this restaurant servicing customers during late hours in a very professional and sanitary environment. I look forward to returning to this IHOP in the near future. read more

After reading the mostly negative reviews of this location I almost didn't go but I'm glad I did. I ordered carryout at the request of my granddaughter and we enjoyed our meal immensely. She had the confetti pancakes with bacon and I had the pancakes, scrambled eggs and corn beef hash platter. The food was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was clean and well run and the attitude of the young people working there was professional and accommodating. I'll definitely be back to dine in next time. Thank you for a wonderful experience and keep up the great work! Great food Great packaging Great price read more

Everything was pretty good! It just sucked that the steak omelette I ordered didn't have the pancakes I ordered with it. Unfortunately I drove 3 hours here to be with my family, so I was too hungry to drive back to ihop to get the missing pancakes. Just figured I'd leave a review for others who place a big order like I did to go. To ensure they have everything they paid for. read more

This IHOP is the closest one to me It's in bowie. I'm in Upper Marlboro I had so much hope for this place The first time that I went, I didn't write a review The service from start to end was horrible sooooo... I went back a week later on a weekday hoping for a better outcome I was seated immediately (nice) My order was taken promptly (nice) My food looked yummy (yay) I received all of the condiments that I asked for (yay) My eggs were cooked just how I requested-hard with cheddar cheese (yay) As I'm taking a picture, I realize that there IS A HAIR IN MY EGGS (yikes) She tells the chef, and he makes me more eggs but they aren't cooked like the first ones (boo) I ask where my hash browns are and she says she'll check and comes back and says that the chef said that my order doesn't come with hash browns BUT he made them for me (and added to my bill) I get my bill and ask for a menu because I NEED to make sure that I wasn't misreading what I ordered and sure enough HASH BROWNS were supposed to come with my order!!! So she took off the side of hash browns that she added I'm thinking that I might not be back to this location I was annoyed I was even more annoyed that my food had a foreign object in it and no one seemed to matter. No I was not expecting free food BUT hey ... Let's just say that the hash browns didn't come with my order - could those have been an added bonus for having HAIR IN MY FOOD or could my sweet tea have been comped #justsaying read more

The service is the absolute worst. It will usually be 20+ people at the door still waiting to be seated while the manager and staff are on their phones laughing in the back. It's sad because the customers can see them. Not good please close down or hire new staff. read more

My husband, Daniel, and I decided to have a midweek date night and stopped by IHOP on Excalibur Road in Bowie after playing pool at Center Pocket. We weren't expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service we received from our server, Shante. From the moment we sat down, Shante made our brief dining experience truly delightful. Referring to us as "King and Queen," she anticipated our needs perfectly, bringing extra napkins and refilling our creamer before we even had to ask. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality brought back memories of my first job at IHOP in Bowie in 1997. Shante exemplifies what great service should be. In fact, she should be training other servers in the area on how to deliver such excellent hospitality. Job well done, Shante! Sincerely, Nikki and Daniel read more

This is IHOP is the best! I really don't want to give it a review, because I don't think very many people have discovered it and I don't want to have to wait 30 minutes to get in, the next time I go! The food is good and comes out fast. The staff is friendly! The staff is friendly! I had to say that twice! The young lady that was the Manager the times I've been there, actually comes to the tables and greets people! I can't remember when that has happened when I've gone to a chain restaurant! read more

horrible customer service the waitress that I had was very rude. She kept looking at our table, knowing we need to help and never came to approaches. Her name is.Tslon L when I first ordered I asked for a cup of water and I never received the cup of water. I asked again for the cup of water and I still never got it. What are my friends had ordered this appetizer and they said they wanted to replace the onion rings with french fries and guess what she didn't write that down on her notepad and he still received onion rings I ordered a bacon classic burger and I received a classic burger with no bacon and my other friend have ordered the avocado burger and she didn't get her avocado and then when I went to check out, I had to pay cash cause that's the only thing I had on me and then this waitress says she didn't have any change what do you mean you don't have any change that's bad customer service like I'm paying with cash need to have cash to get back to the customers and she was looking at me like I was the problem like this is all I have what you want me to do and she has very bad attitude and she gave us the ugly looks and I didn't like that so she either needs to get talk to ,suspended or fired because that was very unacceptable read more

This IHOP sucks early in the morning around 6:15 am . The young man sat me and my grandson at at table in the back near the window , which had ants moved to another table next to window that table had ants also. We decided to move away from windows. 1 Star is too much in regards to this location. Worst managed IHOP in PG County. On several occasions I got home only to find out my entire meal was almost missing from the bag. Absolutely no attention to detail, no empathy towards there waitimes and lack of service due to understaffing. I can go on for a day...but y'all get the point. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

We are new to the area (almost a year). We have gone to many businesses and our youth are the staff. This one has the most respectable youngsters. We have had to deal with waits (it's post-shutdown during a pandemic). During those times, my hubby and I walk across the street and shop at Walmart-the lines in there should have you back in time. And like most other posts we never received horrible service. However, this review is about an online order. Today is a rainy dreary day, a holiday, and my birthday so we woke and decided to place an online order for delivery. The wait time for delivery was almost an hour, but we figured to stay inside or in bed, it is what it is, we'll wait! Well, order was on time as promised. It switches over to DOORDASH (and that's where it seems to go bad-I was told it was a system issue). Let me explain. I received my order email and the DoorDashers info was available. I received a call on time and was told the food was delivered. We came down ready to feast! But wait, there was no food! Our food wasn't on our door nor any of our neighbors (head scratch). I called DOORDASH and I got hubby on IHOP!!! Long story short: DD:LONG HOLDS...I had to get a lil irate/hangry on my birthday morn...ooops afternoon at this point. Only to hear the dasher has it. The system told him it was delivered and he kept it because he couldn't see the address (after telling me it was delivered). IHOP: will call DD & call us back. Hubby clld them back. He relayed DD's position-because we ordered on IHOP's website they are responsible. Did they take responsibility?! YES!!!! Mimi (the general manager) you are AMAZING she replaced our order, personally delivered it, and added some drinks!!! That was special on my birthday (or any day) and I greatly appreciate the efforts of her and her team!!! THANK YOU!!! This is true customer service!!! read more

Served fried fish filets with the blood lines still in them. How can any restaurant buy this. Must have been cheap as heck. Did not taste like fish, tasted like blood lines (the black and dark brown meat in fish usually cut out and thrown away). The shrimp and fries were ok. Just trying to eat light and fast. To no avail. Immature service staff, I blame myself. read more

Stay away from this IHOP! Super late getting our food ready, the order was wrong, and we got overcharged for something that should have been included in our omelette. Why does it have to be so difficult to run a good restaurant? I don't get it?! It's not that difficult! Get properly staffed, be attentive when getting the order, give fast service. Not coming back to this place again... why do restaurants in Bowie all have terrible service ?! read more

They made me put a star or it would be a big fat zero. Waited 15 minutes before they even approached the table. The coffee maker was being cleaned at breakfast. Who does that AT breakfast?!?!! Don't walk RUN away from the Bowie IHOP!!!!!! read more

Walked in and saw that it was only two tables eating (4 people) total should've have taking that as a sign. Got seated and the instant aroma of dirty mop water hit my nose like a jab from Mike Tyson. I give this location 4 months tops to stay in business. I ADVISE YOU DON'T VISIT THIS LOCATION. 1/10 Don't I Recommend. read more

IHOP - The restaurant - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Bowie, Maryland

Visited your establishment on Saturday morning with my son and my mother for a little breakfast before we started our day. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait and that was fine with us. Until 15 mins turned into an almost 30 min wait. Then the young lady took a group of people whom walked in long after the 2 people before us were sat. We waited another 5 mins then she sat us. We waited another 10mins for our server to come and take our drink order so we ordered our food at the same time as we had enough time to look over the menu. No one asked us if we needed a high chair or anything which is crazy seeing how we had a baby with us and the car seat would not fit in the booth we were sat at. So 10 more mins past by and our food arrived only to find that the order was incorrect and we had to wait for them to fix that. We ate our food and at no time did the server come back over the entire time we were there to check and see how the food was and if everything was alright or if we needed a refill on our drinks. Very slow service for a newly opened restaurant. We then had to call for someone else to get the server just to bring us our check so we could pay and be on our way with our day. With all of the waiting and lack of care and service I did not tip the server. Tips are earned not just given and as a former server I took pride in making sure my guest were happy with there food and I made it a mission to keep checking on them until they were done. I hope that the management of this establishment fixes this type of behavior otherwise this restaurant will not be open for very long. The food was excellent but the service very poor. read more

We placed and online order for pick up. The process was cool and food was ready when picked up. Considering I had a stop after picking up the food, the food was pretty good. Very Slow Service, NO Greeting and person on duty just acted like they did not want to be bothered. We left went to another restaurant.

The food was good but that did not pay close attention to the order. I ordered the thick and fluffy strawberry and banana french toast and they did not give the strawberries or bananas. Also I only got one piece of french toast. Next, I put in the instructions to burn the sausage and they did not. Also they didn't cook my eggs well. the yolk was too runny. I would not do pick up again. Again the food was good, but they need to be more attentive. read more

Came on Yelp to see how long this place had been open. They have a grand opening sign out so was curious.
