Very quiet when we went on a Friday night, just a bunch of locals that know each other dining in and even picking up. 2 young servers at the time we went which were very nice. There's quite a few menu items that stand out to me which I would love to try someday. But for this visit I had to go with the Vic's Special. Hamburger topped with roast beef and Swiss cheese I believe, and it was simply outstanding. The burger patty itself was great, and the roast beef on top was incredible. Another slice of cheese wouldn't hurt the ratio of meat to cheese but very very good nonetheless. I got onion rings and those were also very good. The cups for drinks they bring you are kinda small but free refills of course, just a pain if you drink a lot. They do have bottled and canned beer available as well. My brother had a cheeseburger with cheese sticks as the side and he said it was good. Total was like $36 or something I can't remember, but not bad at all considering our 2 meals. I would love to visit again but it's so easy to forget about when you're thinking of somewhere to grab a bite

The employees were all friendly and nice. I was dressed more big city than country and everyone treated me well (that doesn't always happen in small towns). I got two appetizers as my lunch and that was plenty. First, I ordered the shrimp boulettes. This reminded me of deep-fried a shrimp shumai but even better. Oh my goodness it was good. When I first saw my lunch I thought they I'd want ranch and nope, I didn't need any sauce. Why mess up perfection? I also got the alligator jalapeño bites. They were good without being too spicy but the inside was too mushy for me. For the most part they had the flavor right it was Just a texture thing. They were just the right amount of spicy and flavor though.

It's open seating, so I grabbed a table in the middle, and the Jae immediately made me feel taken care of. She handed us physical menus (even though there was a QR code), shared her favorite dishes, and offered drinks with such genuine warmth that it felt like we were regulars. We ordered the fish pasta platter and the red beans and rice plate, and let me tell you every bite was a flavor bomb. The fish was tender, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned. The pasta was creamy, full of Cajun spice, loaded with shrimp, and just addictive. The red beans and rice were soft, hearty, and deeply flavorful, paired with a fresh side salad and four crispy wings. Every item on the plate felt intentional. The food came out piping hot, condiments were offered without even needing to ask, and the garlic bread? A star in its own right. Crunchy, buttery, garlicky heaven. To top it all off, we had the bread pudding, and whew, that dessert took me out. Rich, sweet, and soul-soothing. I'm pretty sure I went into a food coma afterward. I walked in a stranger and left feeling like I had joined a community. Jay Flem is a hidden gem I'll be raving about for a long time. Don't sleep on it.

Chef Terry is a true professional; the attention to detail and depth of flavor here is something you usually only find in high-end city spots. Our server, Ronjae, provided service that was absolutely outstanding. Before we even ordered, he told us we wouldn't need to touch the salt or pepper because the food was 'off the charts' flavorful--and he was 100% right. We ordered the pasta and fish plate. The pasta with the shrimp and crawfish was incredible! I am not usually a big fish person, but this was outstanding--if I could get it prepared that well everywhere, I'd order it every day. And whatever you do, don't skip the bread pudding. It was out of this world! Pro Tip: If you happen to get there on a Thursday, you would be wise to purchase some of Crystal's pralines. They're incredible! It's so rewarding to support a locally owned business operating at this level. Do yourself a favor and go eat here!
