Came here after church looking for a good place to eat and there deep fryer was broken and they only had grapes for fresh fruit

The restaurant staff except for our young male server were awful to us about asking why there was such a long wait. I'm not one to judge by the way someone looks but obviously she hates her job at ihop and it shows I don't care how many tattoos you have or about what u look like but you girls at ihop have got to understand if u hate your job so much don't do customer service- also my food was nasty and freezer burnt stuffed French toast that was stale and nasty. So not worth the wait or the rude staff. Like I said our young black waiter was nice but the females in that restaurant were so mean to me when I took my kids there. That type of ugly behavior is just nonsense. Get out of customer service if you can't figure out what your damn job is! read more

Went to our local IHOP for a quick lunch after church today per the request of my 9 year old. The waitress was nice but was lacking training. She took our drink orders and poured our coffee. The coffee container was empty so she said she would bring us a fresh pot. We requested sugar (none at table) and creamer (not at table). We did not see her again until a few minutes before our meal came where at that time I reminded her of our coffee, sugar, and creamer. At this point, our original cup of coffee was cold. By the way, my son's drink was the wrong size. When our breakfast order finally came it was not complete. The waitress had to make several trips (only three orders so...) with several minutes of time lapsing between each trip making our food items cool. The only food item that was near hot was my has browns. Our pancakes were warm/cool to the point that the butter could not melt. The pancakes split in in half when our forks cut them revealing an under cooked center. The outside was hard and over cooked. The ham slices from my breakfast sampler smelled and tasted like fish as if it was grilled near or after a fish order. I still have that funky taste in my mouth as I write this review. After I paid for our meal, because I was not satisfied with our food and service (plus I only left a 10% tip), I asked to speak the manager. The cashier quickly requested the manager for me and a young lady appeared not mentioning her title, name, and just stood there until I asked her if she was the manager. I explained to her in detail our dissatisfaction with the food and service and she said she would speak to the staff and our waitress. I completely understand that IHOP is not a five start restaurant on the Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago, but I do expect effort and good pancakes from a restaurant that is suppose to have the best pancakes. 5 star or not, one would expect not to have hours of accumulated food and garbage under the tables. If I could give ihop a star, it would be 0. Worst customer experience ever! I've been here three times expecting a change (because I highly f with ihop) but each server takes their sweet little time and the kitchen staff yells at each other. I just want my pancakes, but each time I'm there, I'm there for about 2 hours. The servers are lazy when it comes to picking up my bill & there's signs saying to make sure the servers pick it up. It's IHOP, what do you expect? I had a chorizo omelet. Tasted pretty good. Wait staff not well trained. Our waitress walked past our table several times without looking at us. Coffee was good, not great. Dependable food, spotty service. Just like any IHOP I have ever seen. read more

We called ahead about the 2 for one discounts for seniors. We were told it was available between 3 and 6 as long as we bought two dinners and two drinks. We bought three dinners and two drinks. The bill was $35.22 before tip. We have enjoyed the 2 for one discounts many times in the past. However, when the waiter tried to apply the 2 for 1 discount the cash register would not let him apply the discount. He call the manager to find out why it would not apply the discount. The manage said the 2 for 1discount only appled to senior meals. We ask if this was a change in policy and was told NO. We ask to see a copy of the policy and was told there was nothing in print. IT WILL TAKE US A LONG TIME TO FORGET THIS EXPERIENCE. read more

Normally eat IHOP for breakfast but desided to try a late lunch- definitely not the best. 5 of us are lunch and 3 had ok sandwiches but the fish and chips were served in a bowl with 6 fries and two small fish pieces, not expected for a $10 meal. I had fresh fruit for a side an it was a 2" pineapple piece, a quarter of an orange, one grape, and one wedge of honeydew. Just odd and small for lunch. I have been going here for years with my family. We've gone through their bad and good times. Our waiter was pretty good, but the kitchen staff and one of the waitresses were awful. We waited for over an hour for 3 burgers and a salad. It got to the point where there was no staff around and we could hear the waiters and waitresses were yelling at each other to not seat anyone. We had places to be so I went up to get the bills for our drinks and one of the waitresses said "This isn't our fault". I told them that I know that and I am not blaming them. The lady then said "well, it sure sounds like you are!" I talked to the manager and she apologized and told us to not worry about our drinks. read more

Went here with my mum and aunt for Mother's day and was impressed by the happy atmosphere and food. The only place I know that lets you get bacon and links. Food was tasty and generous. Great service from host to server. Great work! read more

We went there last week, put out name on the waiting list and got skipped over many times, we went today, sat down and after a long time we proceed to watch the waitress go in back and completely ignore us. We wont be back. read more

The food is excellent prices are ridicules. You can get breakfast on weekend that's just as a across the way at coyote canyon or bakers squares. There no way they should be charging the prices they do pancakes waffles and French toast breakfast food is not expensive but they charge you like they have serving you gold . read more

Worst restraunt in the area, took my family there Sat night after waiting an hour and a half for cold food because our waitress lost our ticket we had to leave without eating because bed bugs were discovered in the booth behind us . Absolutely awful . read more

This IHOP needs help! Obviously poor management, and a cook with poor skills and even worse work ethic! Staff is less than polite and unfriendly. We visited on a Saturday around 12:30pm. You'd think they'd be properly staffed, but were understaffed. Yet manager had a waitress filling syrup bottles, instead of waiting tables! We waiting a while to be seated, even though there were open tables. Once seated and ordered it took well over an HOUR to get food. The items didn't come out together, I actually canceled my salad order after waiting over 5 minutes after the others in our party of 4 got their food! My husband's sandwich had BROWN lettuce on it, and smelled rancid! He didn't even eat it! The booths, floors, vents overhead, and bathrooms were filthy! I can only imagine what they kitchen looks like!!!! We paid $31.81 for garbage food and horrible service!!! NEVER again!!!!!! There really is NO EXCUSE for service like this, and bad food. read more

My daughter got her first job, so we went out to "celebrate". She chose IHOP, (I'll never understand why). When the waitress came to take our orders, she stood at the "head of the table", and yelled over us, to the rest of our party of 7, what they wanted. Why couldn't she have walked over to them and asked politely what they wanted to order? After placing our orders, she came back with the drinks, again at the "head of the table", and set them all down, and told me to pass them back to the other people at our table. What the hell? That's her job! Then she brings our orders. Goes around the table, and sets everyone's plates down correctly, shocker! However, my eggs have a VERY noticeable black hair on them. She returns with "new" eggs, and another plate of bacon no one ordered by "accident" and yet we get charged for. Then my fiance's eggs were over hard, in which he ordered, over easy. Seriously disgusting, we're NEVER GOING BACK!!! VERY unprofessional and ignorant! That's sugar-coating it. Went on Sunday at 11 am. Waitress was surprised to see she had a customer, when she (Rose) did acknowledge us she didn't say anything and stared at us with her pen in hand and order sheet open. We ordered 2 waters and coffee, she brought 1 water and 2 straws, 2 coffee cups 1 dirty. She never stopped by our table again. We walked out about noon. Thanks for my free cup of coffee and my wife's free cup of water. Won't be returning. read more

This was probably the worst time I've ever had at a breakfast place, the the eggs were basically uncooked, the waitress was incredibly rude and barley checked up on us, there was pieces of hair in my food and they charged us 4$ more for something that was already 4$. We went for a normal breakfast and left with a disaster, I want my money back! read more

I placed an online order today and the online confirmation that I received said that my order would be ready in 10 minutes. Upon arrival, I was informed my order was not ready because they "got busy" when I placed my order. After 45 minutes of waiting I asked for a refund but was told I could not get a refund because I had paid for order with a credit card when I submitted my order online. Floor was not busy (approx 1/2 full) yet after 10mins they did not seat us, take our name for seating or even acknowledge our presence (girl checked out her table & then walked away saying nothing to the increasingly growing line)-others walked out but my husband gave benefit of doubt & thought they didn't know we were there (they knew) so he went to where servers were & the young "girl" has the nerve to yell at him?!?! Said she was busy & he was the disrespectful for coming to the window, wth?! I asked for manager who was just as bad, she also gave me a fake ph# for corporate (I looked it up online & will call tomorrow) and followed us to our car to take my plate. I then posted my experience on fb for my town where reviews are requested and every reply (80+) said they also had bad service, food or both In the last couple months. We will NEVER step foot there. Clean restaurant. Most friendly waitress I've had at any IHOP by far! Excellent service and excellent food. Very impressed!
