The food at IHOP here in Agoura Hills, on Kanan Road, always hits the sweet spot for me. This is the location I used to come to for so many Sunday breakfasts with my family when I was growing up in Agoura Hills. Going back now, even though I no longer live in the area, kind of feels like coming home. When I was younger, I was all about the pancakes with strawberries and bananas, but these days I'm more into the Chicken Fajita Omelette because that's my go-to breakfast at IHOP. This time, I ordered the chicken fajita omelette with no tomatoes (of course). For my side, I sometimes get toast, but this time I went with hash browns and a side of ranch. My son got the Happy Face chocolate chip pancake topped with strawberries and whipped cream to make the smile, along with two scrambled eggs. As for my drink, I went with coffee over ice. I don't like my coffee too sweet, so I just add a couple creamers with no sugar. The service here is always top-notch. If you need anything, just ask your server and they're always happy to help. I've never had a single issue with the service at this location. The ambience is what you'd expect from a family-friendly breakfast spot and it also it looks like any other IHOP, but because it's in Agoura Hills, it has a slightly nicer feel. Would I recommend this IHOP to anyone? Absolutely 100%. I'm pretty sure they're open 24 hours, though these days I'm never awake early enough to get there before 9 AM (especially now that I have kids). I'll definitely keep coming back to this IHOP because it feels like my home away from home and brings back great breakfast memories with the family.

Returned for breakfast and conversation with a friend. Samantha, our server, was at our table very soon after we sat down to get our drink orders. A carafe of coffee followed right after that. Then our breakfast orders. Free short stack with Yelp check in! I went with a make your own omelet (sausage and sautéed mushrooms and Jack cheese - yummm) Clean quite reasonable prices with really good service. Really good spot for breakfast/brunch. Convenient location right off the freeway. And lots of free parking.

Alondra was the best waitress ever! I was struggling to think about what I wanted and she really helped me out! She's so kind and sweet and has a great personality as well! :) Thank you so much Alondra!!! Will be coming back!

I have no HOPe for this place. I have been standing in front of the front desk for about 10 minutes, with staff cruising around, and nobody willing to help.

After our grub!

We made reservations to dine inside and the food was great. Big portions so we all had leftovers to take home. The service was great and the property feels like you're so far into the mountains. We had great music provided by local musicians, who play for tips so if you want to support them, bring cash! I would come again but this time dine outside and so I can sit under the trees and watch the beautiful peacocks. They have tons of outside seating. We had sourdough bread, broccoli salad, wine, brown ale, half chicken with salad and loaded bake potatoe, fish special, and bone in steak with salad and bake potatoes. We finished it off with mixed berry cobbler and chocolate lava cake. Delicious!

However, we were surprised by the pricing for what is essentially a takeout operation: $28 for a steak sandwich, $24 for a chicken sandwich, $24 for a breakfast burrito, $17 for bread and butter, and $9 for a cookie--all with a required 18% gratuity. We hoped the quality of the food would justify the cost, but unfortunately, it did not. After waiting a long time for our order, we finally sat down to eat, only to be very disappointed. * The Fries: These were thick, over-seasoned, and over-fried potato wedges. * The Steak Sandwich: Consisting only of steak and onion, it was incredibly dry and unappealing. * The Burrito: Entirely bland and lacked flavor with eggs and over fried bacon bits and potatoes * The Coffee: Even the iced lattes at the coffee shack were bad - tasted very milky with very little espresso and warm. Our mocha latte was horrible as the chocolate powder was not mixed well, clumpy on the bottom of the cup The meal felt greasy and unhealthy, and despite being hungry, we couldn't even finish half of it. The food was absolutely disgusting. We threw everything in the trash bin. I wouldn't recommend this spot and certainly won't be returning. It felt very much like a one time money grab as no one in our family will be revisiting this place. Even Jack in the Box would be better.

They accommodated our group of 12, although they did give us an estimate or 25 mins and it became an hour! There was plenty of staff taking care of us and food and drinks came out in a quick manner. The dirty sodas were good and very sweet. We had the Pepsi (strawberry) one and the Diet Coke one. Made a couple of us realize we are dirty soda fans. Drinks refills were appreciated. We sat separately, 4 or us were at the couch and it was dirty with leftover food scraps, drink markings on the table, and lots of dog fur. It was hard to eat our food in that area. For appetizers we had: - deviled eggs - came with 5 halves and were just meh - poke nachos - onion rings - massive for 5 ppl but pretty standard Entrees are slightly small but it matches the price. Peggy's crispy chicken sandwich was crispy but kinda tasteless. The truffle fries came with lots of cheese and were good. The Wagyu burger was good. Splitting the check on the machine was so smooth. You can do as many cards and separate by item, which was helpful for a large group.

I've been wanting to try Phil's for a while and I am sure glad I finally made it there…read more I met a friend for dinner early - like 3:30 early. The restaurant is quaint with outside seating and a cool saloon type atmosphere in the bar. The menu offers a variety of apps, salads, main entrees and flavors. My friend and I ordered the meat loaf. Upon arrival the slab was a healthy size, sitting on a bed of mashed potatoes and topped with curly onion rings. It did not disappoint. We followed our dinner with their combo cobbler. Yum. Here's the thing, our visit began at 3:30 and I believe we left at 7:30! Phil and staff came by appropriately to check on refills, etc but never "encouraged" us to be on our way. If you haven't tried Phil's you should do so. Food choices and food itself were excellent. We came on Wednesday, May 6 during their happy hour when hardly anyone was in there. Phil was our bartender and he's great! It was now 5pm and another bartender was clocking in. We asked to close out. Our tab was around $50. When I got the check back to sign it was $61. We had been charged $9 for someone else's glass of wine. Ok fine not a big deal we caught it and Phil refunded us $9 cash right then and there. I handed Phil a $20 bill for tip to say thank you (on a $50 tab) and he put it in the staff tip jar. We signed our receipt saying $61 (put "cash" in the tip line) and left. Now here's my issue, when my credit card statement posted it now says $71. So someone took an extra $10! I have worked in the restaurant industry over 13 years and tip fraud is not ok. I tipped you guys in cash and someone took more! I called on 5/8 and left a voicemail. And then called on 5/13 and actually spoke to someone quickly and they said they would call me back, but no one called me back! It's a small business and I know Phil is working hard to make his place great so I know it's not Phil. But hey Phil, check your employees. This isn't cool and the only reason for this review is because I tried twice to solve this issue over the phone. For future patrons, please double check your receipts as well as your credit card statements!!!

We arrived about 10 minutes early for our 6pm reservation for a party of 6 and were seated promptly along the window looking out at the patio. The interior of this restaurant has always been well lighted but not too bright and classic with warm woods. Our server greeted us promptly and took our cocktail order. She was polite, enthusiastic and charming all in one. Drinks came out promptly and correctly made. Tito martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives. Olives were hand stuffed not out of a jar and a bottle of Caymus conundrum and a Coors light draft. Now to the food. We started with the crispy calamari and rustic cheddar biscuits. The calamari were indeed crispy and well-seasoned with salt and pepper and served with a good cocktail sauce and a spicy aioli. The cheddar biscuits were elevated with a great honey thyme butter. The entrees came out in about 15 minutes and all 6 of us raved about the taste and quality of them. 3 of us had the Halibut with creamy mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Bonnie had a filet with the Oscar topping and roasted cauliflower, perfectly cooked medium rare. One of us had the prime rib French dip and she loved it, without the horseradish sauce. One friend needed to stary lite and had the Caesar salad with shaved parmesan, which he said was perfect and not overdressed. Our final taste of the night was an order of the Warm Butter cake with extra ice cream for dessert. Topped with fresh berries it was the perfect last bite. We will be back and it won't take 3 years this time.
