    8.00 for those onion rings???
    Rashmi V.

I've tried Uncle AF twice now, and both experiences were pretty different so here's my honest take. The first time, my friend picked up food and brought it to me. We tried one of their top sellers, the Firecracker Chicken, plus a turkey sandwich (can't remember the exact name). The turkey sandwich was okay but a little dry, I wasn't sure if it had mayo/garlic or some kind of sauce because it felt like it needed a little more moisture. The Firecracker Chicken, though, was truly fire flavorful and really good. That first experience made me excited to come back and dine in. The second time, we went on a Saturday afternoon. There were a few people there, but we ended up waiting about five minutes before anyone came to the register since everyone seemed to be in the back. I believe this is a Mom/Pop/Family owned business but it was a little awkward just waiting around trying to get someone's attention. We ordered the Firecracker Chicken again, and my friend got another chicken sandwich I don't remember the name it was some chicken thigh sandwich. Oh we also ordered a side of onion rings $8.00 though for onion rings. Honestly, complete rip off and it was a small portion and they weren't even that good. The owner was very nice and even gave me a complimentary iced tea that he said is one of their popular drinks great gesture, although personally I wasn't a big fan of the tea. Food-wise, this time just didn't hit the same. The Firecracker Chicken tasted very different from the first time I had it, and unfortunately neither of us really loved our sandwiches. Oddly enough, I took my sandwich home and ate it a couple hours later, and it tasted way better than when it was fresh maybe the flavors settled in or maybe their panini-style sandwiches just work better slightly cooled. Overall, the service and friendliness were great, and I can see why people enjoy this place. For me, the consistency just wasn't there between visits. I'd say it's more of a 3.5-star experience, but rounding up to 4 because there's definitely potential and some really strong flavors when they're on point and service. But all in all it was good, wouldn't be my top choice when in the area.

Very good sandwich shop operated by a super friendly couple. It's a pleasant change of pace from the typical Italian deli sandwiches, which I love. Got the LA Rams and Af's Cold cut sandwiches. Both were enjoyable, hearty portion served in beautifully baked bread. Will definitely be back.

First off, what an amazing sandwich!! I popped in during lunch after having heard of this place many times and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and the sandwich was prepared quickly (not many people at the time). The restaurant itself is small but there is plenty of seating and it has a unique look to it. I was pleased that it was also very clean. I ordered the Firecracker Chicken sandwich which is spicy, for those with a low tolerance, proceed with caution. It was made using a Ciabbata bun that was lightly toasted on the exterior but perfectly soft on the interior. The chicken itself was well seasoned and the veggies/avocado tasted fresh. The firecracker bacon and the firecracker aioli were definitely the star of the show. It provided the perfect level of spice (for me) and the bacon was crisp so it added a crunchy component to the inside of the sandwich. I would 1000% order this sandwich again. However, I would be doing myself a disservice by not exploring the rest of the menu. Bonus points because they carry my favorite sparkling water! Thinking of stopping by? I wouldn't second guess it.

Uncle Af's is as good AF! We shared the LA Rams panini and it was so tasty. A bit spicy, bacon crunch was nice, and the chicken thigh being shredded really enhanced all the flavors. At around $18 for one panini it is not cheap but if you share it, it is both filling and pretty cheap for lunch at under $9 each.

We were met with the utmost hospitality from the moment we walked in. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our experience great. We were offered their house-made Arnold Palmer, which was refreshing and perfectly balanced. The sandwiches completely blew me away. I tried the Chicken Firecracker Panini and the Super Turkey, and both were packed with flavor and perfectly toasted. The ingredients tasted fresh, and every bite had the right mix of texture and seasoning. Uncle AF's has mastered the balance of great food, excellent service, and a comfortable atmosphere. It's the kind of place that instantly makes you want to come back. Make sure to try their onion rings or crispy house fries. We will be back!

Always a great experience at Uncle Af's! The food and service is always consistent and they never miss. My go to is always the chicken firecracker which is prepared fresh and full of flavor. If you order a side of fries, just know the portion will be plentiful! They definitely do not skimp on portion sizes here. If you're looking for a great tasting sandwich spot in the area, look no further.

A fantastic spot run by just two people--likely a husband and wife duo--who are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Watching them work felt like a show in itself. The bread was outstanding--perfectly toasted to a super crispy exterior while staying light and fluffy inside. It had just the right thickness, flat and thin yet still substantial. The sandwich was very sizable, made with high-quality ingredients, and everything worked together beautifully. I especially loved the mushrooms paired with my shredded beef tongue--a unique combination that was absolutely delicious. A must-try for anyone who appreciates a well-crafted sandwich!

    12. Imported Prosciutto Sandwich
    McKenna D.

Uncle AF's got me feelin like donald duck over here...taste was good but the portion is a joke. so i've been trying to find my new favorite spot in Agoura for lunch and. i was craving a prosciutto sandwich so i called in my order. the sandwich doesn't come with pesto so i added a side, my total coming to almost $18 with no tip. the bread was really good and fresh but i can't believe how skimpy they are. this was such a waste of money, i ended up combining both halves to make a semi decent half sandwich which somewhat filled my craving. yes i took out the tomato but i put it back for the second pic. The nearly 5 star reviews led me to Uncle Af's so i'm very disappointed.

2nd time eating here. Had my brother bring me the first time specifically for the firecracker chicken panini. That was about 3 weeks ago and I've been dreaming of it since. I guess next time I will try something else just to explore more, or maybe take my brother back so we can order a firecracker sandwich and something else to share.

The keto quiche with almond flour crust was to die for!!! But I didn't have to die because it was ultra low carb and listed the net carb count on the menu, so it was a safe food for me. LI'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the best things I've ever eaten at a cafe! It had only 6 g of net carbs and was also vegan and gluten-free. It was so good, everyone I was dining with wanted to order it. As a Type 1 diabetic who needs to carefully control my carb intake and know exactly how many carbs are in food so that I can take the appropriate amount of insulin, eating outside of my home often feels like a huge game of risk. So when I encounter a place that has keto items on the menu and lists the amount of net carbs so that I know how much insulin to take, I am actually overwhelmed with gratitude. When there's an item like this on a menu for anyone on a keto diet, of which there's so many of us for many different reasons, I feel like the people making that decision are showing a kindness and respect to the diversity of their customers' needs. It's the most welcoming thing a business can do. My dream is that one day, every cafe offers this. This quiche was so good, I would be willing to make the drive to Westlake Village just to eat it. The staff was also really kind, checking other sugar and carb counts for other dishes so that I can understand more about the menu. Everything at The Royal Egg was just all class. The food was piping hot when it came out, the coffee was delicious, I loved that everything was farm to table and grass fed, etc. I genuinely can't wait to go back!!

I said Really? She confirmed there was no way to give me a time, as they were slammed. I had to make up a parking spot, so I figured that I couldn't wait too long. So I just said, "Well, if you're that busy, I'll just take a refund." Another girl came over, and she said, " Well, you can't get a refund. You'll have to call Chow Now" I explained that I ordered through their website, and she explained that they use Chow Now. I said, " Well, can't you just tell me how long it'll be to make an egg burrito?" At this point, it had been only about 15-20 minutes since I ordered it. All I was doing was looking for a time. Then the manager came over and decided to "school" me on how busy the restaurant was, and I needed to understand that when I order food, it may or may not be ready when it says it's ready. She was obnoxious to say the least!! So I said, "Look, I don't want my money back, but how long is it gonna take to make a burrito?" and she said. "I don't know. We're busy!!!" And walked away, and then the other girl said it would only be another 10 minutes. So I said "OK", and I went outside to move my car because, as I mentioned, I was parked in a fake spot. There was no spot where I parked. I parked in the blue lines. Now just imagine if I was a delivery driver for DoorDash or somebody who delivers food, and you get a text saying your food is ready and you're there to pick it up, and there's no parking, so you make up a spot, and they're telling you that they have no idea how long it's gonna take. I was trying to be accommodating, so I said OK when the one girl said she would get it made in like 10 minutes. So I went outside to move my car, and then I got an email message saying that they canceled the order because they were too busy. I'm not sure what happened, but I have worked in customer service for many years. I'm in my 50s. I don't need to be talked down to like I'm a 20-year-old person who's never ordered food before and even if I was a 20-year-old who had never ordered food before, I don't think the manager coming out and screaming at me because she's overwhelmed is good customer service. I mean, being busy is a good thing. The place looked packed, so I'm assuming the food is really good, and it's really popular, but this interaction has left a really stale taste in my mouth. And my husband, when I came home without the egg burrito, was like are you kidding me and they were rude too. We'll never go there. Again, going back to my original statement. If they were too busy to make an egg burrito, then they shouldn't have taken the order in the first place. I'm sure the manager will get upset and comment something rude about me. I was happy to wait, I just needed a time. If it was 45 minutes, I could have come back home. If it were 10, then I could have moved my car, which is what I decided to do when they canceled the order.

A family nearby brought a loud toy truck for their child that continuously made an extremely high-pitched screeching and beeping noise throughout our meal. It wasn't just us who found it disruptive--several other customers also brought it to the staff's attention. Unfortunately, nothing was done, and it completely took away from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. Had we known this was the atmosphere we were paying for, we honestly would have gone somewhere like McDonald's instead. The food itself was a mixed experience. My boyfriend ordered the loco moco and really enjoyed it. I had the pancakes, which had great flavor but were a little on the dry side. The sweet potato fries were delicious, although the ranch dipping sauce was surprisingly bland and lacked flavor. My Diet Coke was also flat. It's disappointing because the food had some strong points, but the lack of attention to the dining experience really overshadowed everything else. We understand that restaurants can't control every guest, but when multiple customers express concerns about a major disturbance, we would expect staff to at least attempt to address it. Overall, I'm not sure I can recommend this restaurant based on our experience. Note: I'd also like to mention that the service was inconsistent throughout our visit. We ended up being helped by several different servers, which made it difficult to know who was actually taking care of our table. At one point, we simply wanted to order another drink. Our server told us he would be back shortly to take our order, but he never returned. After waiting for quite some time, we eventually had to walk up to the bar ourselves just to order a drink. Between the lack of attentive service and the way the disturbance was handled, the overall experience was disappointing.

After looking at pictures of it over the years and the cool interior, I was pretty disappointed to find out we couldn't sit inside, which was pretty much the main draw of why I wanted to go. It was outdoor seating only. Not only was it only outdoor seating, but there was no table service, which made the extremely high prices feel a bit unjustified. The giant portions kind of made up for the prices. The Cesar salad and ribeye were good. But again, the fact that they were served in to-go containers and with no table service made the prices feel like a bit much. The outdoor ambience was pretty nice until- the wasps! There were SO MANY WASPS. We moved tables literally three times and could not get away from them so we eventually to pack up our food and leave. I know there's not much they can do about the wasps but they should at least let people eat inside if the problem is that bad. Overall kinda bummed. Been waiting to go for years and it's like they're doing what they can to charge the most for doing the bare minimum. Wish I could say I'll come back some time when their indoor seating is open, but I really don't think the food is worth the price.

Drove all the way from Burbank just to check out Carrara's Pastry Shop in Agoura Hills--and wow,…read morethey absolutely did not disappoint. It's a small, charming café with a cozy atmosphere, featuring old-school car collectibles displayed on a shelf that add a unique touch. They also offer outdoor seating where you can enjoy your desserts surrounded by lush greenery, natural foliage, and a peaceful little waterfall pond. The service was great as well, they were friendly and welcoming and answered all my questions. suggested I definitely I ended up picking up a chocolate and hazelnut cake with an incredibly soft, spongy interior that was perfectly balanced and rich without being overwhelming. I also grabbed a single serving of the blueberry cheesecake, which was light, airy, and still decadently satisfying--definitely worth every spoonful. The rum babas were a standout: bite-sized, soaked in Jamaican rum, filled with Chantilly cream, and topped with a raspberry. So flavorful and unique--each bite was indulgent without being too heavy. And then there was the Velina cake... oh my goodness. A beautiful sponge layered with chocolate mousse and hazelnut mousse, all covered in a glossy dark chocolate glaze. It was so rich and decadent that I had to slow myself down just to fully enjoy every bite. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully made, and worth the drive. I'd absolutely come back again.

We were greeted right away, and we let one of the people working there know we wanted to take a look around as it was our first time stopping in, which was okay. The shop itself was empty. We took a look at the ice cream selection, the full cakes, and then the pastries. Everything looked really good. We decided on a chocolate trilogia pastry and a red velvet pastry to go. The transaction went well. When we got home, we ate the goodies. The trilogia was fresh and had great flavor. The red velvet, unfortunately, did not meet expectations. The cake part was dry, and the frosting was dense and had little flavor. Maybe I just ended up getting an older one, but at $8.25, I had expected a much better item. The service was great, but as a red velvet lover, the flavor was not as expected. I would potentially try again but would sample some other treats.
