I had a great meal at iFresh Noodle! The food was delicious, flavorful, and well prepared. The noodles were so fresh and had a great texture to them! The spice level left a bit to be desired though as it wasn't as spicy as we expected, however the table had a container of chili oil to add to your liking! It's a little pricey, but if you're craving fresh hand pulled noodles, this is it! Service was great, they were attentive to our table even when it was busy during the lunch rush!

iFresh Noodle really surprised me with how well they executed both dishes I tried. The steamed chicken with chili sauce was a great starter. The chicken was super tender, and the chili sauce had a bright, tangy kick that felt refreshing since it's served cold. Only critique is that it was a bit salty. The 3-in-1 spicy biang biang noodles were also amazing. The noodles are thick, bouncy, and perfectly chewy. The tomato egg, slow-braised minced pork, and chili powder coat the noodles really well, giving you a mix of savoriness, sweetness, and some acidity. Definitely one of the best meals I've had in Boston.

My partner and I shared the spicy oil biang biang noodles w tomato & egg, Lanzhou beef brisket noodle soup w rice noodles, and BBQ lamb kebab skewers - TASTE: 5/5 - everything hit the spot! Loved the spicy oil & satisfying tomato egg in the biang biang noodles, tasty beef brisket, and spicy lamb skewers TEXTURE: 4/5 - enjoyed both the thick noodles and rice noodles, and tender beef and lamb PRICE: 4/5 - total came to $43 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - only 2 skewers in the order, otherwise good portions for lunch SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 1:15pm on a Saturday and a couple parties were seated. Food started coming out 10min after ordering via the QR code menu ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - didn't realize iFresh Noodle recently reopened. Small space w lots of great food pics on the walls. There didn't seem to be an a front-of-house bathroom PARKING: 4/5 - got a metered street spot near Harvard Ave x Commonwealth Ave

Cumin lamb biang biang mian

Lanzhou style soups and flavors might just not be my favorite. I thought the soup for the beef noodle soup was a bit bland, and it didn't have many pieces of beef. The cumin lamb biang biang mian was quite good, with the noodles super wonderfully chewy, though I wish there was more depth in flavor. Overall it was alright, pretty cheap, and quick.

Biang biang noodles TO DIE FOR! Very quick service, quick turnover. Place is small but nice. Point in getting in, enjoying delicious noodles, and getting out. And seriously, the noodle is so good, the lamb is so good, this is a GEM. Go!!

Hands down the BEST biang biang noodles in Boston after noodle king closed in longwood. The texture is so good, reasonable prices, and so many options too. They have both soup noodles and dry versions. There is minimal seating and first come first serve.

Yes, friends, they are open again! I was so sad when they closed due to the fire years ago. The restaurant is beautifully redecorated, the staff are friendly, and the food is just as delicious as I remembered! I'm so glad they're back (as well as the other restaurants next door).

Beef Noodle Soup + Cumin Lamb Biang Biang

Yes, it's cramped; yes, the service may fluctuate; yes, it's cash only; yes, the noodles are FIREEEEEEE. Maybe 8 tables of 2, but they can be pushed together accordingly to fit your party size. Can't go wrong with the Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup, but my favorite was the Cumin Lamb Biang Biang noodles. The noodle texture was THERE, the flavors and seasoning were THERE, and the leftovers were TAKEN HOME. Do yourself a favor and come here ASAP. Name of this on UberEats is iFresh, but will show up as Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup on Google Maps. Now take this info and act accordingly.

A small hole in the wall place, cash only. Food I've tried: - SPICY LAMB HAND PULLED NOODLE ($12): the portion is smaller, however I think for the price it is fair. The noodles itself were chewy, and I definitely felt the hand pulled quality to them. I personally would have preferred slightly thinner noodles, as the glutinous mouthful distracted from the flavors of the meat at times. The lamb was very well prepared, not gamey at all and very tender. It was very well flavored, with the right amount of cumin and a slight spicy kick. Atmosphere: - Very small store, limited seating. Classic hole in the wall feel. - Water is self serve at the front. Service: - Unclear whether you are supposed to order at the counter or if someone comes to you. I just ended up ordering at the counter. Remember it is cash only, but the prices are reasonable. Overall: - Good for a quick bite of authentic tasting hand pulled noodles.

Feb 2020: Wuhan dry hot noodle

I can't believe I have not reviewed this restaurant yet! It has easily become one of my favorites in a very short time. THE. TASTIEST. NOODLES. They do advertise their meat dishes a lot but my favorites here are the two dishes last on their list - the Wuhan dry hot noodles and the Mala noodles. Both vegetarian (yay!). Wow, what flavors! Literally each noodle strand is coated with sauce/spice. The Wuhan noodles have a peanutty sauce with addition of tiny vinegar-ish green beans. The Mala noodles have mala spice (it can get very spicy, so ask for mild if you can't handle it!), bok choy, and roasted peanuts. Order a tea egg on the side, and you're golden. I've tried their spicy crispy chicken too and it was good but it's these two noodle dishes that make me want to come back every weekend. It's a small place (only takeout in the current environment) and cash only. If you haven't been here, you are missing out!

Biang biang noodles - lamb?

This place is always mobbed but the food speaks for itself. The service is okay but I come for the food. I wish they had better seating for folks that are just a party of one. Also this is a cash only establishment.

I called and they said they don't use halal meat, but a review in the Lanzhou Fresh Noodles page said they do use halal meat. Can owner confirm?

Really exciting place focused on Northwest Chinese cuisine…read more The signature dish, the hand-pulled beef noodle soup, had a fairly light, but subtle, flavor. The noodles themselves I wish were chewier (got the 'flat' but probably should have gone for 'extra wide'), and perhaps it'd been nice to have some different textures inside the soup (e.g. something crunchy). The scallions in the soup were also too wide, and needed to be sliced more thinly. The beef pancake was quite decent, though the edges didn't have enough beef and the middles had too much beef. The beef was tender, though I might have liked it more flaky. The sauce inside the pancake was somewhat unevenly applied, and a bit too sweet. I wonder if a dipping sauce (maybe a vinegar?) would have helped. The blueberry with mashed yams was fascinating. It was listed under appetizers, and wondered why the dish came out last. But the dish was a bit sweet (naturally!) and so it actually worked as a light modest dessert! The wait staff was spot on after all in putting out the dish last. The stir-fried cabbage dish was beautiful! It was appropriately crunch, yet using good wok hey. The salt level was a bit high, but the spice level was good. Their spice ratings were a bit timid to what I encounter in Szechuan restaurants (the 'regular' level seemed to be more 'mild-regular'). The stir-fried cumin potato was delicious; nicely flavored, nicely charred. Some bits were a bit oily but the cook on the potato was really neat. Will revisit!!!

We've ordered several of their noodle soups and noodle dishes with regular, thick, and wide noodles that have been fine but not great. I think the textures of their noodles across the board have been too soft, not chewy enough. We've tried some of their other dishes, which have been better: my fav is the cold okra appetizer. Also, the potato balls in the beef brisket with potato are a sleeper hit. Unfortunately, the dish was mostly beef and not potato haha unusual gripe. Service is normal, efficient, on the attentive side for a chinese place. Interior is nice and new and clean. After our second try, I'm not super pressed to come back, but if we're in the area, I might try some of their other non-noodle dishes!

Each of the times I remembered were tasty. The ambiance when you arrive is dramatic Chinese music in the background which makes it somewhat difficult to converse with your group. Most recently we arrived with a group of 8 for our 7:30 pm reservation without any issues. All the other tables were full but we noticed the restaurant cleared out after an hour of us being there past the peak hours. They gave us 2 containers of the standalone spicy powder so people could add on as they wanted and the less spice tolerant in our group weren't saddled with the consequences. I tried the following dishes: Lamb & Beef Kebabs - 3 sticks per order I preferred the beef texture and taste over the lamb. BBQ Lamb Ribs - they said this was the only dish that came default spicy but I didn't think it was that spicy. the smoking in the raised wooden container gave it additional flavor. I preferred lamb ribs over the kebabs. Torched Beef - one of the favorites for our table the sauce with it was also super tasty. Big Squid - challenging to cut but they give a lot of pieces and generous portion with a special sauce. Grandma's juicy pork buns - on the small side, topped with black sesame and sauce you can add on the side. it was juicy as advertised. Cucumber salad - refreshing and included peanuts for texture and flavor. Fried tofu - not too memorable but the fried texture was tasty. Bok choy - I enjoyed the sauce spread across this veggie dish. Shiitake & King Oyster Mushroom - these are 2 separate orders but I can't remember which was the skewer and which was on a regular plate. Both were overall tasty. Cauliflower - Another solid veggie option but nothing too memorable if you want to focus mainly on protein. BBQ Bread slice - one of the inauthentic cuisines and it's like French toast Kaoijiu dragon yogurt- I was expecting more dragon fruit flavor so that was a bit disappointing but it still tasted good overall. I am not sure it's worth the $10 dessert price. Overall solid food options and we didn't have any leftovers so it ended up being ~$40-60 per person depending if people also ordered drink/dessert. Worth checking out if you haven't had a chance to before they are gone forever!

Limited Street Parking…read more The food made up for the wait time but it was very long. This place was packed, we came in no reservation and the wait time they told us just kept getting longer. We eventually were able to get in, there is a small space to wait with snacks though. Once our table was almost ready the host allowed us to order and once sat it came almost right away. We ordered the la-xi chicken with less spice, this has small crispy chicken pieces and lot of peppers, had to go in and pick out the little pieces. Truthfully wish it was less pepper and more chicken especially $23.95. The mapo tofu was delicious the perfect numbing sensation that I love. A must try dish was the fish fillet with crispy rice. This was $34 but it is perfect for cold day. They bring this dish out pour the soup on top and let it boil until the crispy gets cooked. We got the green beans as well, pretty standard nothing special. We got a little discount as well, I think for a late night special. The entire meal came with tea and the restaurant had calm setting with wooden interior

Disappointing Service & Poor Seating Arrangement…read more Extremely disappointed with our experience here. I made a reservation for 6 people One Month in advance (in fact, today is my birthday) expecting a comfortable dining setup for my group. However, upon arrival, we were squeezed into a table clearly designed for 4 people. When we pointed this out, the staff insisted it was a '6-person table' and refused to move us to the larger tables available, claiming those were reserved for 7-8 people. This is inconsistent and unprofessional, as we have been seated at those larger tables with a group of 6 before. What's the point of making a reservation so far in advance if the restaurant can't provide adequate seating? The lack of flexibility and the dismissive attitude of the staff ruined our evening. For a place like Mountain House, I expected much better service. Will not be coming back anytime soon."

The food is consistently savory, flavorful, and downright delicious. Honestly, everything here is good. Parking can be tough, but it's absolutely worth it. For vegetables, the string beans and garlic eggplant are staples at our table. The rice clay pots are another highlight, especially the black mushroom and chicken--it's hearty, satisfying, and easily a meal on its own (perfect for sharing). The beef chow fun is also excellent. Another standout (not pictured) is the wonton noodle soup. The wontons are plump, flavorful, and really hit the spot. The service is consistently great--everyone is friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurant is also clean, which always makes the experience even better. The menu had a good selection without being overwhelming. We ended up ordering Eel clay pot rice, stir-fried string beans, half house chicken and seafood w tofu in claypot. I enjoyed all the dishes but the half house chicken and eel clay pot rice have got to be my favorites. I liked the stir-fried string beans as well but found it a bit saltier than I was used to and the seafood w tofu felt very saucy thought still pretty good. Our server recommended that we order one more when we had only ordered three initially without the seafood w tofu because she said everything was one serving size. However, I think we could have done without the fourth dish. Overall, it was a little pricier than claypot in Quincy or other predominantly asian places but I enjoyed my experience and would come back if chance comes up.
