The service was excellent. The dish I ordered was overly seasoned and too spicy for me.

We usually go to other Indian restaurants but decided to try Ifra's for a new experience. First parking is impossible. There are 7-8 busy restaurants in the strip mall so the lot was packed. Be patient and drive around a few times as one will open up, or go early. Ifra's was a hidden gem for us as the food was excellent. The bread basket with all the nan breads was excellent with the onion standing out. Loved the yogurt and cucumber side dish to use on the breads. Samosa with chick peas excellent and so was the vegetarian spinach and cheese cubes. Large menu with lots of meat choices. There are only 7 tables, so go early. Only request is to have another staff member. Huge amount of take-outs and 2 people had trouble handling how busy it was, but still had a smile and made you feel welcomed. A MUST TRY !!! read more

Very disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered Lamb Rogan Josh and there were a few things off about the dish. First, I think they served me goat instead of lamb and I assume I wouldn't know the difference. Unethical and unacceptable. Second, the ratio of actual meat to watery sauce that was delivered to me was like 1:10. It was mostly a bowl of watery red sauce with a few tiny pieces of meat. And third, the food was over salted. I asked for spicy but instead got salty. Very yuck overall given that I paid $32 overall for one entree to be delivered to me (and that would have been more if I didn't have GrubHub Plus). I've been trying to get here for awhile now. I love Indian food and Miami has a few different great options and I was hoping this would earn a spot there. It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it definitely didn't floor me. The beef wasn't tender at all and it was actually a bit rough. The curry was good and the naan was on point, but it's tough to mess up naan. I literally come here twice a week this the best Indian food in Miami and it's not even close.

I want nothing more than to give this restaurant more love and support; I'll start with that! But times must be taking a toll on their customer base cause it was a ghost town. The struggle is real!! Located in a very restaurant saturated mall, brimming with many cars and not enough parking spaces, where little ballerinas prance by you to get to rehearsals next door, there is this little gem that is getting buried away in a corner. We were the only patrons for a solid 45 minutes (great for us, but not great for the restaurant). After sanitizing our hands at the door, a young woman seemed to be taking an order over the phone with a very worried expression on her face. No music played; tv bounced Samsung joylessly; did they just open and not expect people? Something else happening? Glanced over a few times, with no sign of assisting us and standing at the door, after a few minutes we gestured which table we'd be sitting at the empty location. We actually looked at each other worried that we might have taken a bad risk in picking this place because it seemed we stepped out of Miami and onto some ghost town on a forgotten street. Truly odd... Have you ever stepped into a place that you could tell was very popular a few years back and now the trend has wore out? Maybe it's the impact of Covid on the industry? Don't know but in the air you could sense better times, hard work, and still desire to get back to those lush years, but currently running on fumes. Gratefully we are adventurous and see it through to the end on our decisions trying food! The menu: all the excellent staples in Indian cuisine and some yummy extras as well! We ordered more than we could humanly bare because we wanted to see their take, style, and also support!! The rookie waitress was surprised there were only two eating all that we ordered. Was she a waitress or a friend covering time for the main staff?? She was not very knowledgeable but sweet. (Not wearing a mask after phone conversation). And you can tell she was embarrassed after each time she came back to say they didn't have that item... Like They weren't stocked up on Indian beers, shame, but we weren't going to let that hinder us. Coronas it was, blah! Chicken samosas, check! Bread basket with various nan breads (an abundance);check! Had to add aloo paratha, delicious! Then shared some scrumptious chicken Tiki Marsala and Mango Curry Chicken. Odd was that we had to ask waitress for rice... when these dishes usually come with accompanying jasmine or basmati, but it arrived after asking. Spices & taste, wonderful! The perfect Indian comfort food we were looking for. So, we were happily surprised and it brought back to mind an old adage, "don't judge a book by its cover!!! " or "the proof is in the pudding." Specifically during these times when all of us are scared to step out. I took my 91 year young mom for lunch she can't eat salt for health reasons. The chef was very accommodating and prepared the food minus salt. Samosas were delicious and dal and rice and eggplant Bharata were delicious. The garlic Nan was very tasty. We will definitely go back to this restaurant. The ambience was nice. Fresh ingredients, savory bites of samosa, saucy goodness. By far, my must-have. You can never go wrong with butter chicken and theirs is perfection. But what we didn't know was how good the BEEF KORMA would be! All takeout comes in reusable containers and the person who portions out the food is my new best friend because they've got a heavy hand. Possibly one of the worst Indian restaurants we have been to. They had a kerala cook who knows nothing about cooking. Channa masala and Bhindi Dhal were super watery and Bhindi Dhal had no salt. Aloo paratha did not have any salt either. They took it back and made us wait and then after ten minutes the waiter comes and asks if we can order something else as the cook doesn't know to add salt in the aloo paratha which was the weirdest thing I've heard. never coming back here read more

Found this little spot on Yelp and was in the mood for something different. And I'm SO GLAD I came here. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. The service was really good and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the butter chicken and my boyfriend had the lamb. We were both very much impressed with our plates. The naan bread was also delicious! The portion was great. Great food. Two visits in recent weeks have firmly established Ifra's as a force to be reckoned with as Miami's love affair with Indian cuisine continues to grow. This small restaurant in the popular Dadeland Plaza offers a vast array of dishes that I have not found on other eateries menu's. The food is good, but the hours online are incorrect. I placed an order online through GrubHub at 7:13 PM and received confirmation that my order would be ready at 8PM. I drove to the restaurant to find the doors locked and no one inside, despite the hours online being listed as open until 11. I've eaten Indian food all over the country and good Indian food is hard to come by here in Miami. Moreover, Indian food tends to be very expensive in Miami. Ifra's is a great combination of quality Indian food at a more affordable price. I've had the chicken biryani, the chicken tikka masala, the mulligatawny, various types of naan, the samosas, the vindaloo, the butter chicken, and nothing has ever disappointed. Please be aware they don't allow any substitutions AT ALL. I wanted tandoori shrimp- they said NO. I asked for shrimp in vindaloo sauce- they said NO. I asked for shrimp in Rogan Josh sauce- they said NO! Anything I asked for details if because I was really trying to find something to eat there, the waitress just referred me back to the menu. I asked "what CAN they make with shrimp?" And she said ONLY what's in the menu, which due to my intolerances and preferences, made me and my party choose to leave. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. Our waitress was friendly and recommended her favorite dishes when we asked. I am a vegan and my boyfriend is not. I had the vegetable samosas which were 10/10 ( I just couldn't have it with the yogurt sauce that was served on the side) the Aloo Chole (chickpeas and potatoes) and Roti which was delicious. He had the chicken samosas, chicken Tikka Masala and cheese naan and he enjoyed it all. We both got medium spice and it could have been a little Spicier. Worst curry ever. We were excited to try this new Indian restaurant. We have been getting Bombay Darbar for years and were hoping this would save us a drive to the Grove for a "traditional" curry. We ordered by phone for pick up and were told that it would be 30/40 minutes. We got there about 45 minutes later and were told that they were making more rice as they had run out. It took them another 30 minutes to cook rice for our order. Little did we know that in the meantime the rest of our food ($100 in curries) sat there packed and not under any heat source. Needless to say when we got home it was cold. And the worst part, or so we thought until we tasted the food, was that they were only half filled. As I mentioned we've been patrons of Bombay Darbar and Tastebuds of India, and the price point is the same but you get a full takeout container of curry- usually the sauce is touching the top. I started to wonder if they had run out of curry too and have us the bottom of the pots. The chicken curries (butter and madras) were runny and the chicken was very dry. We also got a lamb rogan josh - the few pieces of mystery meat in there didn't taste much of lamb and the sauce was not flavorful. The dal tadka was very bland and again watery. The worst execution was in the papadums. They are my favorite part of getting a curry and I was so upset that they managed to burn them and leave them uncooked at the same time. It is clear that they were shoved into a fryer all at once and because they were packed so tightly the insides didn't cook and the outsides were overdone. I don't know how they packed them as they were clearly burnt. The raita and the onion chutney were the only things that weren't a total disaster. Also we ordered the curries with varying spice levels (between 4-9 out of 10) and none of them were spicy. I called the restaurant immediately upon opening the curries and finding them half full and cold and was told that each dish should have 8 pieces of meat. That's 8 cold bites for $20. I also told them for the $12 we spent in papads they were burnt and uncooked. I offered to send the attached photos to show them. The fact that our food was cold because we waited for the rice didn't seem to register. I'm not sure why but they focused on the lamb dish and offered to send another one over. We refused the offer as it made no sense for one dish to be replaced when everything was a disaster. Anyway, god knows how long that would've taken to get to us anyway. I welcome a new restaurant to the neighborhood but with an experience like this we won't be going back and quite frankly I felt the need to warn the next patron. There are plenty of great curry houses to order from- stay away. read more
