I had been wanting to come back to Ifra's and dine in with the family since last time we came here we had a good experience. Unfortunately, this time was very different. Ambiance is still good and the restaurant looks very clean and decor is simple but nice. Service was bad.. only one person for the entire restaurant. When we arrived there were only 2 people dining but that changed quickly... within 20-30 minutes it was packed and only this one person to take orders, clean the tables, bring water and drinks, take the food out to the tables... etc, etc, etc. you get the picture. It was a bit chaotic. Whe the food arrived... it arrived all together. Appetizers, soup, bread, main course. (everything at once). Mulligatawny soup was under seasoned as it was the malai chicken. Needed salt and needed flavor overall. Something you never think to say about Indian food. The lamb kadai we order it spicy and it was not even close to medium. The sauce also lacked a lot of flavor. Overall a bad experience. Bad service and food needs a lot of attention. (IMHO) read more

Oh my God this place is an absolute GEM! I'm always ordering through the uber eats or DoorDash ..... cant recall at the moment but it they never fail. I've came to sit down and eat on other occasions and today we had time to enjoy dinner at the restaurant. I love the energy in here it's always good vibes and delicious food. You can tell they make everything with love in the kitchen. Great service , great ambiance, great food. Ifras Indian kitchen is bomb!!!! Pass or order take out and decide for yourself. Our waiter was stern, not the friendliest, but attentive. The food tasted better fresh than delivered. I do have to point out; hey did not have any ice, which I thought was weird. Unfortunately, I took no pictures. I took one look at the warm, buttery naan and it was game over. This place is how I imagine going to a friend's house for dinner. The food is home-y, inviting and warms the soul. I tried the butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, dal bhindi and a side of butter naan. SO. GOOD. The portions are plenty - don't be fooled. I'll have food for the week. The rice is cooked to perfection. The naan is as soft as a pillow. The flavor of each sauce is so rich. Have I convinced you yet? Pay them a visit. Located in my favorite Datran strip mall which has at least four of my go to restaurants and its in my top two or three indian places When I ask for heat in my lamb madras, I could tell. Overview The mango lassi is one of the best I've tried lately, and the naan, plain, garlic, and cheesy, are very good, but the actual food is lacking in flavor AND spice, the service is a little slow. The Experience My parents invited my aunt and me to have a bit of Indian food, and since our usual spot wasn't open, we selected Ifra's. We started with a couple of mango lassies (mango-flavored yogurt drink) which were really, really good, and 2 rations of samosas (the menu has chicken and vegetable samosas, but they didn't have chicken, so we got the vegetable. Each ration has two, good sized, well filled samosas. with a ver mild taste, but pretty good regardless. They come with tamarind sauce and mint sauce... the tamarind sauce was good enough, the mint sauce was not up to expectations. Again, the flavor isn't bad, but you've definitely had better (I know I have). The main courses were where the real problem started. We ordered two Tandoori Chickens, one Chicken Tikka Masala and one Chicken Korma. We specifically requested one of the Tandoori chickens and the Chicken Korma to be extra hot. There were three issues with all of them: 1) almost no salt. easy fix: the salt shake on the table. no problem 2) almost no flavor. yes, even after applying salt. both the mild dishes and the supposedly spicy dishes had such a bland flavor, that if it weren't because of the colors and/or sauces, you would have trouble to accept they were actually prepared. 3) no spice at all. now, this is a plus for the non-spicy (mild) tandoori and to the (mild) non-spicy tikka masala, but the Korma had no spices at all, and I dare anyone to try the both the spicy and the mild Tandoori chicken and tell me which one was which one. My father actually sent it back and they brought it back "spicier". It actually was spicier than the first time, but I've had spicier "mild" versions in other restaurants. Now, I have the theory that Indian food restaurateurs eventually get tired of customers not knowing what they were getting into, and that's why there comes a point when they don't even try to deliver spicy dishes to the regular public. I can understand that business decision, and that's why I know I can go and usually order the hottest level in the menu because I'll be able to handle the spiciness... but this was ridiculous. There is a difference between mild-ing it down for the "delicate" unaccustomed Miamian palate, and a whole different thing to be bland. And that's what this was... I read quite a few reviews here saying it was either great or very spicy and I disagree on both statements: even if we disregard the lack of spiciness, as I said before, the flavor, while good, was very, very bland. The service was ok, if a bit (very) slow, even though we were the only occupied table in the whole restaurant. I don't know, maybe they had a bad day... But I don´t think I'll be giving them a second chance food-wise... but I'm very likely to go and get another mango lassie in the future. read more

Even though its name has "Indian Kitchen", it's more of a Pakistani style food than Indian. We picked up a corner table and the lady handed over the menu. She mentioned that all items are available. That was Naan. It was soft and fresh. The chicken biriyani was different- loaded with dry fruits. It was evident that the chicken was cooked separately and added to the rice. It lacked any flavor the rice had. Kind of disappointed the way it was done. But the Mahi Mahi vindaloo was the ultimate disaster! The fish was not fresh, even though claimed it's fresh. It was dried/frozen fish, half cooked and added to the Vindaloo gravy! Even though the gravy had its flavor, but nothing for the fish. We just left it as it was. We even spoke to the lady about it. But she was adamant that it's fresh! Luckily they served white rice on the side - at least we had something to eat! Overall a disappointing experience. We had to waste a lot of food just because of the poor quality. Moreover they are in complete denial about what kind of fish they used. This place had a 4+ star rating and didn't leave up to the expectations. A little disappointed, as I like how lunch menu lets me enjoy some soup/appetizer/dessert along with my entree, so I get to a fuller sample of their food, and also it's a waste when I can't finish the dinner portion but can't take the leftover with me. Anyway, I ordered a Biryani. It came in a timely manner. I love the flavor, it packs a good heat, but I wish the vegetables were fresher. Some were chewy or hard to bite into. Reading other reviews, it seems to be a recurring theme. I get a feeling that they are trying to compensate for the higher food cost with lower quality of ingredients. I went here for lunch with my wife and daughter. The service was excellent! Very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing! My daughter ordered the Butter Chicken, my wife ordered the Lamb Vindaloo , and I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, we also ordered garlic cheese Naan. I got to taste a little of each dish, it was hard not to eat too fast and to keep my restaurant manners because the flavors were so good!!! This easily made it to the top of my favorite foods list. There was only one person working in the dining area. They were in charge of cleaning tables, waiting tables, taking online orders, taking orders over the phone, among other things. We were seated before two other tables, and our orders were taken AFTER everyone else even though we told the waiter we were ready to order. The food took over an hour to make it out of the kitchen. During that hour we witnessed multiple people walk into the restaurant to pickup food, and waited for so long that they gave up and left. We received our food only after threatening to leave without paying, and what we received was the most rushed, poor attempt at Indian food we have ever experienced. I wouldn't feed it to my dog.
