I get the gel manicure and pedicure and the manicures can last for up to 3 weeks and the pedicures last for 4 weeks. I've gone to other manicurists around LA and no one compares. The amount of care, patience, customer service, and detail oriented focus that they put into my hands and feet is second to none. Their cozy location is convenient with ample parking available. Elsa was able to do my mani exactly the way I wanted with all my edits, changes, and peculiar requests. I have gotten nail art before with varying success at other salons and with different technicians. But Elsa has a calm and steady hand to do straight lines and it comes out looking perfect- like I had gotten tape instead of hand drawn nail art. This is an example of a chop shop nail salon. I didn't catch the name of the woman who did my pedi but the woman doing my mani told me her name was Nancy. Nancy nicked my toe (way above the nail) and they charged me less because of it (I had assumed). I stayed for my nails to dry, they both saw the receipt but then Nancy actually followed me to my car and berated me that I pay 38. The entire process was rushed, my cuticles were yanked not trimmed. Nancy also let me know that callous remover doesn't include toes just the balls of your heel. I wanted to like this place! I heard such great reviews but after hearing Nancy say she doesn't care.. that was really scary. I noticed they don't clean instruments after every use. Infection outbreak waiting to happen. Save your money, go some place where they're passionate and KIND. read more

As a dancer, performer, and just an individual who likes to get her nails done I've been to quite a few places . there's been some good ones and there have been some that have definitely made me reconsider going back to a salon. But my friend directed me to Irene and man I'm so glad she did. not only is she very gentle, very thorough, her work is very clean she listens to what you want and make sure that you are happy the entire time. I've got a pedicure (which was to die for hot stones oh my god that was a first for me, I was in Heaven) and after I had to go back to get my nails done. Now I went in for acrylic and Irene suggested gel extensions (wasn't pushy just let me know) which I am so glad I did. it's much more gentle on my nails and they're lasting just as long and look amazing! And my nails don't have to be cut down which makes me happy. She is so nice and patient. Irene is fantastic! She convinced me to try gel extensions for the first time, and I've gotta say I love having talons! ;) I sent her images before my appointment for inspiration. The mani was for the Frozen 2 wrap party, so I wanted to indulge a bit. When I got to the shop, we went over bits and baubles together, and she was great at letting me pick and choose while also interjecting her own professional design sense. Her execution was flawless. She is so spot-on with perfectly filing symmetrical stiletto nails, plus applying base and polish without any brushes ever touching my cuticles! I was really impressed with her precision. She could probably draw a circle freehand! Price-wise, her rates are extremely fair, and she is fully deserving of hefty tips. First time here! Loved the location + ample parking in the back lot. It's a small shop so it feels really nice and cozy. I made sure to make a reservation since I read that there's only two of them. They were extremely responsive and I was able to make a reservation for the next day. It was a little busy when I arrived but I don't mind waiting because I tend to be indecisive when picking a color. I loved that they soak your fingers in Ginger water to soften your cuticles. Amy was really careful and gentle removing my cuticles, which I really appreciated since I've had ouchy experiences from other salons. Small, cute and clean shop. 2 technicians so make an appointment. I made one Thursday night and was able to get Friday afternoon. They did a BEAUTIFUL job on my nails. A little slower than I'm used to, but also much more thorough so I was very pleased. When I arrived they were not quite ready for me, but had me wait in a massage chair so that was a great plus. Found this gem thanks to Yelp! Located in the "arcade" alley on Lake Avenue next to Float. There's plenty of parking! Only thing is I think I got lucky on a Sunday morning at 11am. I called 10 minutes before and there was an opening but I would highly suggest making an appointment as there were only 2 spa chairs and 2 manicure stations in this little spot. Seems like walk-ins are taken but you may have to wait if they're busy! Just two girls were working when I came. Irene did my gel manicure and her shaping was perfection! I appreciated her attention to the curvature of my shape! She was also super nice and not judgmental that my nails are super short and I got my previous gel elsewhere. The color selection is probably 50 colors deep, unlike some places that have handfuls of color wheels but there's probably a shade of what you want, not 20 versions of lavender. Stamp card with purchase for $5 off your 6th visit! I'll be back! I dig the plentiful parking! My boyfriend and I came to Pas from Orange County for the day; among our agenda was pedicures for us both. When it comes to purveying the services of businesses I haven't yet patronized, I much prefer the walk-in experience over having to talk to a human on the phone, then commit to a time, then hustle to be punctual etc etc. I also dread this ongoing process of locking down new service professionals (we just moved from the east coast). As it turned out this busy Friday, my avoidance of personal administrative tasks which most people seem to suffer just fine, landed me on the phone with several humans as well as darkening the doorway of a booked-up establishment before I was able to secure an appointment with IE for a couple hours later. Tiny staff and salon...3 women working in a perhaps 10x12 enclosed store in the "arcade" on lake ave. 2 pedi chairs, one manicure table with spots for 2 clients. So their acceptance of walk-in traffic is strictly based on physical space- there is no abstract list of appointments and dozen waiting chairs. If you're in , you're in. Definitely call first. So for the actual experience: I was at first apprehensive because my nail tech was the youngest and seemingly inexperienced- the older tech was pointing out which products to use in what order for the type of pedicure I'd requested (can't remember the name, but it was $32, $5 extra with French). I used to love pedicures but life gets hectic so it's been like 4 years since I had a pro work over my feet-sorry nice lady who did my feet:( anyway, I don't get hung up on much in regards to services. I have non negotiable and then a lot with which I'm pretty flexible. For pedicures, I want the exfoliation I pay for to have actually done something, not a halfhearted rub and wispy pumice swipe. I also want the paint job to not look like I did it. Meaning every square millimeter of nail covered and no paint in the cuticle. Perfect lines on the tips. Homegirl nailed it! Took a bit longer than I remember; I don't know if that was due to inexperience or simply a meticulous nature, and I don't really care. Over a week later, every nail looks like it did when I left and my feet were super smooth for a solid couple days following. I wish I got her name and I wish it was closer, but I love Pasadena so I'll just have to incorporate IE Nails into my normal visitors agenda henceforth:) read more
