ADVISE YOUR SCHOOL!!-On August 16 I placed an online order for uniforms which never arrived. After several calls and emails I was informed the merchandise was shipped and they relinquish all responsibility once orders are shipped. When pressed for assistance in locating my order I received the USPS tracking number which showed items were delivered to another zip code. The full address was not shown in the tracker but the zip code was the same zip code of the store- not mine! The store refused to offer further assistance and said I should open a claim with USPS. Ideal refuses to acknowledge my package was sent to an incorrect location or offer any other resolution. Advised the school and opened a case with the BBB. This business should not be ANY school's provider. read more

Do not order from website. They will charge, but send it to you on time. They help you if you call. They act like nobody knows what is going on. If you need to return your order they would not return your money. The representatives are very unprofessionals and rude. read more

Not happy with their services. I feel that they are not conected with the parents that shops there. I totally wish that there were more options for parents to get there uniforms read more

If I could give a zero star rating, I would. The customer service is beyond awful at this place. Unfortunately, I had to buy my child's school uniforms here because this is where her school has a contract with, I guess. I tried returning a brand new, never worn sweater there because my child needed the fleece jacket instead. I was told that they could not take it back because the tag was removed and therefore, it could have been worn. (Mind you, I had the tag in hand.) The cashiers stated that the owners make the cashiers pay for the returned items. Really??? The manager that was there was totally useless. He said to come back during the week when the weekday managers were there. (Not really sure why he is there as a manager then if he can't do anything and has to defer to other managers to do his job.) Disgusted at this point, I bought the fleece that I needed to and cut my losses. I ended up having to keep the sweater that she will never wear. Thankfully, my child starts high school next year and I will not have to deal with Ideal Uniforms anymore. I will do my shopping at Flynn and O'Hara instead. Avoid patronizing this store if possible. read more

these people are the worst it's a month since I place my order, it's three weeks since my kids started school and the order is still not ready read more

I used their website to place an order. Order was placed on July 18 and I called on Aug 1 to inquire about the 4 school uniforms that I ordered along with the 4 hair accessories. I was told that everything was in a box and ready to go but they were waiting on 2 of the uniforms to be made. MADE? I cancelled my order as they never gave any indication that my order was on back order and they had NO indication as to when it would ship. To add insult to injury, they informed me that they would have to charge me shipping if I decided to split the order. No. Thank. You. In a day and age when I can order items with 1-click and have it here in two days, the mom and pops need to make up for their old school ways and provide better communication and updates. Never again. read more

I'd give 0 stars if I could! I have been waiting for 8 weeks for an order. 3 emails and waited on hold 3 times for 30 min each time (my lunch time) and no resolution to a "backorder" that was supposed to be 2 weeks. My advise? Spend the few extra bucks to get your stuff from someone else. Their "cheaper" prices come at a cost. The cost? You won't ever get your items. They are happy to take your money though.... read more

This is one of the worst stores I've ever been to. The customer service here sucks big time. I placed an order for uniform shirts for my son in Aug and I still haven't received them. Called the store multiple times and it goes straight to vm. I had to send an email to find out where my order was. Finally someone from the store called me and asked "is everything ok with my order?" Are u freaking kidding me? No asshole everything is not ok, I still don't have my Damn shirts and we are in Oct already. The idiot had my order in his possession as he spoke with me on the phone, so he knew damn well everything was not ok. I could've choked him through the phone. They will never get a dime of mine again and I will also encourage family and friends not to shop there. Too bad u can't give 0-stars! read more

This place is a joke... I am forced to get my kids school uniforms here because they are the store the school uses. I ordered uniforms from the online store 5 weeks ago and have been trying to call the store for 3 weeks! No one ever answers, voice mail is full and the fax number does not work and there is no email address on the website. School started today and my son has no uniforms. I simply cannot understand how, during what has to be their busiest time of year, they won't answer the phone or check the voice mail! So, Ideal, how exactly DOES one check up on an online order then? This place just plain is the worst around. Avoid at all costs and if your kids school uses this store- COMPLAIN TO THE SCHOOL and encourage them to use a different store! I'd give this place negative stars if I could... read more

KO. I was there today as well, small world. Let me start by saying that I waited until I went to this store three times before I wrote a review. Just for the record I went to this uniform store in June, mid-July and again today, first off the store is over crowded, each time I went there were "workers" that were suppose to help, but all they did was answer your question with a horrible attitude no, correction they had a NASTY ATTITUDE!! The service I received today was what prompted me to write this review. I came to the store today to purchase some uniforms needed for a catholic school, I had to ask the same "worker" four times for help, she seemed bothered that I stopped her from not doing anything, and asked her for help in locating an item in the store she works in; she provided help by pointing to where I needed to go,and once I went to where she pointed I still needed assistance. I then asked a man that was behind the counter for help, he said "That skinny girl right there (pointing to another girl with an nasty attitude) will help you" I had to wait for the "skinny girl" to correct the guy then she came to help me. She gave me what I asked for then walked off without asking me if I needed anything else. I then went to the register and proceeded to check out and over heard one of the check out women call the other a lesbian, regardless of the fact that there are people online with children waiting to cash out and leave. I think that it is sad that parents spend thousands of dollars for catholic schools, and they do business with a store like Ideal, I feel that it is really sad that they lack any type of professionalism, especially now when a job is very hard to come by. If I could I would go to another store for school uniforms. Ideal uniforms you need to take ALL of your EMPLOYEES and trained them in the way of customer service and make them understand that they should be grateful to be employed, please tell them that NASTY ATTITUDES is not a good thing to have when your job description involves dealing with customers, in person and over the phone (if you can get through). read more

I am being nice giving them a star because of the one friendly staff member I encountered at the register. So I see this store has not changed from the time I went to Catholic School back in the 1960's then when my grandson needed Boy Scount uniforms until today when my granddaughter needs uniforms for St. Edmunds. They have a stranglehold on the kid's uniform business in Brooklyn. The staff has always been trained to be uncooperative and nasty and this has not changed one iota. In these economic times they should be grateful to have a job and show appreciation to the customers who keep them working. We are doing them a favor by being forced to shop there, they are not doing us a favor by allowing us to spend our hard earned money to be treated in an offhanded way. Ideal, to put it simply, is definitely not an ideal place to shop read more

This place is the worst place ever to order from. I ordered my kids uniforms before school started and more than a month later still NO UNIFORMS. I sent emails and nothing, it clearly states that they will contact you once your order is shipped out something NO ONE DID. I get a call.more than a month later stating that my package has been returned twice ... How in the world is that possible?? Never was informed that they had shipped it. On their website it says any order over 100 dollars shipping is free my order came.out to more than that. Well now the person in the shipment dept. wants me to pay for shipping. 1st she said my package was shipped out twice and it said that there was not sufficient address info, once I started asking questions she changed her story and said it was shipped out only once and said it was unclaimed. I asked to speak to a supervisor and to my surprise... The person I was speaking to was the supervisor.. Asked to speak to someone above her and they were not in. This "supervisor Ashley" then proceeds to tell me many items of my order were not in stock and would be shipped to me when available but when I ordered them it said nothing of them being out of stock. I will NEVERRR order from here again. All they do is steel your money and not send you anything. Worst place to order ANY UNIFORM, and their customer service is trash!! Who ever is writing a glorifying review on this place is just trying to counter the truth or works here.. I ordered uniforms for my son back in August 2021 and ask me if I have my uniforms... ask me if I was able to get an answer to when will I receive them.. ask me what happens when I call the store.. I just called today and was hung up on, I called back and told the rep I want to cancel the order I was told that I had to come in and cancel an order that I paid for online?? So you can take my money online but you cannot refund me over the phone I have to come to bklyn for a refund? I asked for a manager and was told to call back after store hrs?? Where does this make sense? I would love to speak about the quality of the clothing if I ever received it from the looks of it that will not happen and unfortunately for them I have a few parents who are upset and we are contacting the BBB about it. They only got one star because I couldn't give then a -1. In this day there's always another place to go to and Ideal was recommended from my sons' school guess who lost that account? No follow up, no apology no nothing and then no clothing.. read more

Been here several times for school clothes because I have to. Just a few tips for the store owners. Your employees need to be readily identifiable. Please have them ALL put on the same type of uniform company shirt / vest so customers immediately know they work there. I know customer service is very tough at times but the workers need to smile and say can I help you & thank you. Those suggestions would make buying things at you store an easier experience. Oh, try to buy clothes made in the U.S.A. read more

The store from the unassuming exterior is not that big. Yes they have several window that display uniforms of all kinds. From kindergarden to middle school , from catholic school to nurses and scurbs uniforms. But once inside, you can't help but do a double take at the sheer size of the place. I mean it is "football field" large. The store just seem to go on forever. They stock everything a person could imagine related to uniforms. Though not fancy or modern with the display racks, the store is instead extremely practical. Every item is meticulously arranged by school and size. Neatly inside it's pigeon hole. I had the pleasure of meeting Marvin the manager. I ordered some embroidered shirts for my staff for the holidays ASAP. He not only helped me pick out the shirts but called the embroiderer personally to get it done quickly. I ordered the shirts on Monday and got them back by Thursday. Hows that for service! The store had quite a large staff. When I was there, the staff seemed to outnumber the customers by a good margin. I'm assuming that this is so when the place gets packed as the other reviewer mentioned that , they can quickly accomodate the customers. Marvin, told me that this store has been at the same location for over 100 years. They are actually renovating the store next door to expand the size even further and may even build up if permits allow. All in all, this was a great find and I would recommend this shop to anyone seeking uniforms. read more

I have 3 boys ranging from 23, 20 and 10. I have had experience this store for that span of time. Its always busy crazy and over priced for some items, I have not shopped in ideal since 2007-08, I was able to go other places to get whatever items I needed for the youngest boy. This school year hes in Charter and they made a BIG mistake to FORCE us to get uniforms from this place. Parents who placed orders in July some got the end of Sept. They are obviously OVER THEIR HEADS!! I am sooo upset! that I havent called them back in fear of how I will loose it! I going to go in and cancel my order. It won't effect them one bit, its that clear to me, but it will take that anger away from me! read more

This store is managed horribly. The owner has the attitude as if you need him because they know schools inform their parents that Ideal is the designated uniform store. My husband I went to the store to purchase all of the required school uniform items. We selected a fleece and noticed it was very dusty, the staff informed us that it was the last one and more wouldnt be in until about 3 weeks. She stated she would see if the manager would discount it to cover cleaning cost. The manager approached with the fleece in hand after attempting to dust it off with the attitude of an ignorant person feeling they are needed he decided to inform us "His Price is His price go order it online if we want a clean one" (with the most disgusting tone ever) We dont tolerate humiliation but to avoid confrontation we but our basket down and left the store. I'm going to leave with this message hopefully the schools who select this store to be the ONLY designated store for uniforms reevaluate how they treat people who patronize IDEAL UNIFORMS. **NEVER GIVE ONE MAN TOO MUCH POWER.. HE EVENTUALLY WILL ABUSE IT.. I Wish I was able to select zero stars. read more

So update from my previews post . I had such a bad taste in my mouth after dealing with the nastiness from the employees at both location . I went in today to get an exchange finally on what I purchased . The sales girl CICI was super nice , sweet and knowledgeable. Though I didn't get exactly what I was looking for but because she knows her stuff I was able to get a better style and quality than I purchased before . Not only did I make an exchange, but ended up spending more money. To me costumer service matters because yes you provide the product but we are the reason why you're able to make a profit on those merchandise. I'm a business woman and pretty well educated and if it wasn't for CICI I wanted to file a complaint to BBB on that store, but whatever I got better uniforms and now my coworkers have asked me to buy them the same styles I got . I guess I was just lucky . Wish I had the chance to speak to the owner but it's a Saturday and he is following his religious practices. So lesson when I come back I'll only go to the one in BK and I hope CICI is around because the one in Rockaway neverrrrrrrr ! The staff there except for the black tall guy ( wish i asked for his name ) were disgusting , not helpful and so nonchalant. read more

Ideal store is not competent. I wish schools would research their suppliers before sending parents into this "madness". They can't handle the demand. 2013 this was there worst year to date: Yes, they have implemented a website but you still have to wait forever for merchandise. As parent's we need to bring this up at our schools. Year after year Ideal is getting worst. I have (2) children in different schools. Catholic & Charter. Neither of them have a complete uniform to begin the September 13 school year. It is (3) weeks into the school year. I am still waiting for shirts for my Charter school. Ordered them online was told (2) weeks. I am still waiting. The other child is waiting for the stamp to press on to the uniforms. Ideal is horrible, unprofessional and I will write all schools they supply and ask them to reconsider doing business with them in the future. read more

Their customer service is zero. They would NEVER pick up the phone even if it rings 100 times. You can never get to speak with anyone. I wish I could give it ZERO STARS!!! The service here is BEYOND AWFUL! The employees spend more time chit-chatting and BS-ing than actually working. They don't care about Customer Service or Satisfaction. I will keep my fingers crossed that I can find her jumpers elsewhere. This place is the absolute WORST!!!!! They hire people who don't like their jobs! When you ask for assistance, the staff acts like you're bothering them! One of the female staff members working in the shirts dept gave me the wrong info on the material shirt for my daughters uniform & when I asked another staff member, he told her she was giving me incorrect info & he then corrected the situation immediately! The staff working by the gym section are LAZY & were cracking unprofessional jokes in front of customers amongst each other instead of assisting customers as they are paid to do! Let's get to the staff on the register who seem to be incompetent! I told the cashier to put a specific amount of my transaction on one of my cards & the remaining balance on the 2nd card & she did what she felt like doing & put the whole transaction on 1 card, then got upset with me because she forgot my request. I called for a manager & the manager "Rohin" tried to intervene, however she was RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL & not very understanding! The cashier "BRK LSANTOOL" had the nerve to tell me to "SHHHH" when I tried to explain to the more competent manager higher than "Rohin!" The manager "Rohin" tried to tell me that the cashier had been @ work since 8am so I should excuse her rude behavior along with her incompetence of splitting my 2 cards. I left out of there completely disgusted, dissatisfied & extremely aggravated! This whole store needs a retraining on customer service, specializing in attitude adjustments! They are only getting as much customers because they are the only uniform store in the neighborhood! They need to fire & rehire a whole new set of more professionals instead of the ghetto staff currently working there! THIS PLACE DESERVES A "0"STAR!!!!!! read more

I'm extremely happy with the quality of their clothes but this review is regarding their lack of customer service and will to "get the order processed and shipped ASAP. My order was placed on August 18 online meaning there is no wait time. On August 27 I called to find out the status of my order. They said - "it's been received but not processed." I could not believe that they held the order almost 10 days knowing that time is of the essence but not process it. I was told: "you will get notification when we ship." No "sorry for the inconvenience, we were really busy this year - nothing. So I'm disappointed more in their customer service than anything else and am relieved to not have to worry about placing an order with them again next year.
