I contacted Esed with an urgent request (running 220V to a new electric water heater to replace my home's gas heater, which had just died) and he came out to start the work the same day. My subpanel was already full and we were discussing a very expensive solution (adding a whole new subpanel), but when I identified a simpler and cheaper option (combining a few loads on the existing subpanel to make room for the water heater), he was happy to do that instead. We've hired Esed for a couple different jobs now - first was to run conduit to some flood lights that we wanted on some exterior walls. Second was to have a 240V outlet installed in our kitchen with 50A circuit breaker. Esed is a professional. He spends the time to understand the requirements of the project fully and seeks clarification when needed. I appreciate this as some contractors are not exactly easy to communicate with and sometimes small, but important, details can be lost - but this isn't the case with Esed. Top notch. I spent a lot of time trying to find an electrician; had some variable responses and some that were just too busy. But Esed made an appointment and said he would work me in; he was a little brusque on the phone but I don't think it comes from a place of not actually caring or being rude. I convinced him I knew something about something by taking accurate measurements and pictures that helped him make his estimate remotely. He showed up a little bit late and seemed genuinely apologetic. He came up with a plan to install a commercial grade heater on our patio; this required getting into the circuit board and running cable through the attic. He came up with a plan for mounting the fixture, which was nice since the heater did not come with one. He completed the task in a single day and stayed on budget. 10 stars actually.....I hired Esed to do a complete Electrical Upgrade of an 80 year old home. The challenge is that it is a lath and plaster finish, make an electrical upgrade more challenging. The project included getting a permit for all of the work, installing light fixtures, over 35 new grounded plugs, 7 new circuits, removal of an ancient fuse box, installation of many light switches and dimmer switches, and wired smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, all to code. Esed had an in depth meeting with us for which he charged for his time. This meeting was essential in order to define the scope of the project and how much it would cost. His written estimate was detailed and realistic. Along the way we ended up installing extra wired smoke alarms, and light fixtures in locations where it was not easy to install them. Because some of the fixtures did not come in on time, Esed had to return a few times. Getting the permit finaled was another time consuming thing to do. Had I known Esed was such an awesome Electrician, I would not have pulled the permit, but I needed to be sure no shortcuts were taken. Esed is not a shortcut type of Electrician. He does his work super professionally and he has excellent communication skills. A word about Craftsmanship: Esed's work is super clean and beautifully executed. Even the wires inside the boxes are super clean in execution. If he has to make a hole in your plaster, it is a clean easy to patch hole. His hole patching colleague does a beautiful job as well. A word about Knowledge: Esed is really smart, and his knowledge of Residential Electrical makes him stand out head and shoulders above other Electricians I have used over the years. We had to solve a light fixture challenges and Esed came up with safe, practical and attractive workarounds. He can explain to a lay person WHY taking a certain approach is the best approach, but he can offer alternatives as well. To summarize, there were many changes in the scope of the project, initiated by us. Esed did a beautiful job of communicating where things were going, how much things would cost, and how long things would take. His written estimate was professional detailed and easy to understand. He managed not to get frustrated with what it would take to finish the job. Esed is super efficient and gets more done in an hour than many other Electricians. Very expensive! After receiving a quote of $450 for the first hour (I had a very simple electrical project to correct a couple of outlets), I tried to soften the proprietors bid with no success. So I declined and gave the job to my excellent handyman who did a great job with full explanation of what needed correction. He actually replaced the receptacles in 4 outlets and made sure they were properly grounded. Cost? $260. read more

The person who answered the phone was amazing. I wanted a service call for an outlet for a garbage disposal that wasn't working. My diagnosis was that I needed a new circuit breaker. I thought I had reset it properly, but I hadn't. He asked me a few questions to diagnose the problem. Then, he talked me through the proper method of resetting the breaker. Problem solved! I called back a few minutes later with a second question with that outlet. He analyzed that and gave me directions to resolve it too. I had called two other companies first. One never called back, and the other said two weeks to come out. If I have any electrical issues in the future, I will call Ideal Electric and recommend him to my friends. Esed is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I needed an electrician on short (emergency) notice when my 100 year old wall socket started making scary noises inside the wall. I found Esed on Yelp and basically picked him because someone said it's like having Werner von Braun fixing your home electrical needs. Saved the day! Electricity went out of most rooms on Christmas Eve. I checed breaker switches- flipped gently- nothing happened. Figured I'd just live 19th c style til I could get someone in after the holidays. Reading Yelp on Christmas, Ideal was listed as open til 9 pm today. Really? I called, and the gentleman walked me through the panel and how to flip a tripped switch with a little trick. I followed his directions- and- it worked!
