The first visit was great. Just visited again 2 weeks ago, extremely disappointing experience. They did 2 tricks on me: Upcoding and Unbundling. I was charged $250 out-of-pocket for a "deep cleaning" that they coded as 4 quadrants, even though only 3 quadrants were actually treated. They also separated and billed procedures that should have been included in the deep cleaning, turning what should have been around $65 into a $250 bill. When I contacted my insurance company, they confirmed that the clinic's billing did not align with the covered services. I've been trying to reach the clinic for the past 4 days -- no one answers, and the number they gave me doesn't even connect. This is completely unprofessional and feels like a scam. The deep cleaning itself was rushed and lasted less than 30 min. I strongly suggest double-checking every code and estimate before agreeing to any treatment here. read more

This is the most inefficient dental office I have encountered. Appointments were canceled with no notification. New appointments were scheduled without contacting me about scheduling. On two occasions I had been notified of the payment required only to be told the payment is much more after I had checked in. I would encourage everyone to find another dental office. I asked several times for my insurance to be validated before replacing a crown as I did not remember when the procedure was done. I asked several times for my insurance to be validated. I was assured that my insurance would cover it. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I was rushed to make a decision on my first visit to this office. I thought the people were honest so I moved forward instead of going home and calling my insurance company personally. I was constantly upsold with mouth guards, braces and other items. I kept declining but the the office manager wanted to know the reason so she could come up with a rebuttal. I finally told her I could not make any additional commitments without talking to my husband so she then wanted to review all this documents to I guess ensure I could present the information to him to make a decision. Additionally, the dentist at this office lacks bedside manner, I personally do not like anyone holding a personal conversation with another worker while helping me. This is a pet peeve of mine because I am paying for your undivided attention. Lastly, I am still have soreness and issues with the crown. After going back to this office several times, I was told I needed a root canal. Go to this office at your own risk, unprofessional people, shady business practices, and lack of integrity. I wish I had never went there. The only reason I did it because I liked the dentist on the website. My family member's dental appointments are cancelled, last minute, often and it happened again recently. It seems that there is a management/upper management/corporate issue here. Doctor is nice. Front desk girl is nice. Hygienist is SUPER SWEET. Manager is never there and when she is I'm told she's texting or playing games on her phone. We are going to give this place one last try but we do hope that someone does something about the laziness we have observed. We are sick of frantic rescheduling calls from the manager. Not sure how there could be a negative review of this place honestly. Dr. Carly Konzelman is low key the nicest, most thorough, empathetic and actually caring dentist I've ever met. She legit genuinely puts what's best for you first and makes sure at all times that you're not only comfortable, but also informed of every step of every process. Her assistant was equally helpful and friendly, and they work well as a pair to take care of me as a first time patient. I seriously cannot recommend Dr. Konzelman enough, she far exceeded my expectations from this practice. read more

The dentist I had was great! But the front desk and billing was not the best... i had pain on wisdom tooth and one of my molars. The dentist did some work on it but I had no idea that only part of a root canal was done. Needless to say, when I tried to cancel my appointment and move dentist it was nearly impossible. Don't go to Ideal Dental in Rowlett. Prior to November 2022 it was a great place to have dental work or cleanings. Since around November 2022 it's all new staff and a new dentist which is horrible. I was told I needed crowns on 2 of my teeth that wasn't even bothering me. When I went back to get a filling that I did need, the dentist refused to do the filling unless I did the crowns first. Something seemed very off with the entire situation. I decided to leave and not get any work done until I received a second and third opinion. I kept thinking why would I pay over $1000 to get 2 crowns when I have no issues with those teeth. I set up 2 different appointments to have all my teeth checked at two new places. It was exactly like I suspected, I did not need 2 crowns. The dentist at Ideal Dental in Rowlett is telling people that they need expensive dental work that they don't need. First of all, they were able to see me the same day as a new patient which was pretty awesome. Secondly, the staff at the front is super friendly. The dental hygienist and the dentist explain to you exactly what's going on, go over your treatment plan, and don't pressure you to do anything that doesn't immediately need attention or you decline. From my first conversation with staff, I was treat with courtesy, respect, and value. My prior experience, with Ideal in Wylie, was less than pleasing. Consequently, I had made up my mind not to go back to Ideal. However, this location was new, had convenient hours, and was in close proximity to my home. So, I decided to give them a chance. And I am so glad that I did. Dr. Cunningham took her time with me and conducted a thorough examination. She asked questions and gave me an opportunity to do the same. Please don't do it. I went in for a cleaning and FREE whitening. They took about an hour to look into my X-Rays and what I was covered for under insurance. Well turns out i had a "possible" root canal and 10 cavities. They told me that I would have to pay out of pocket $600 for this "possible" (they were not sure at all) root canal, and $310 out of pocket for the fillings. When I declined and said I just want my FREE cleaning and whitening, they magically came back to me and told me that the fillings would now be covered under the insurance at 100%. Hmm why didn't this happen first? So I say yes lets go ahead and do the fillings then since they are covered. I've only ever had about 2 cavities in my life so them telling me I had 10 was a little outrageous but hey it was covered so why not fix them. This takes about 1.5 hours to fill in the teeth then at the end they tell me I have no time left in the chair and since i have a "possible" root canal, that I would not receive my FREE whitening today. Well I requested a copy of my x-rays and I shared them with another dentist from a different company. He said i have some possible areas of one or two fillings but deff not 10. He also gave me a referral to a endontist to test the "root canal" based on his experience he said it just looks like it is leaking and is not a root canal. MIND YOU i have not had any pain whatsoever in my mouth. Well it turns out they may have also committed insurance fraud. I am in touch with my insurance company and by the sounds of it, there will be an investigation. They have only been open 2 weeks and already this is happening? Do your research people. read more

Don't go to this place! I am livid. Went in for cleaning was told I had to have deep cleaning and Dr. Nizami also wanted to redo 5 fillings that their other location just did 2 years ago along with a deep cleaning too. They basically just duplicated what was done to me 2 years prior. I allowed the deep cleaning but due to insurance could only do one side then come back for the other. I made the decision to go to another dentist a month later for the other side and get second opinion. Not only did the new dentist say only 1 filling needed to be redone but after they x-rayed the side she cleaned the found still a lot of build up that she totally missed. So I basically threw away $275 and now have to go get that side done again. Ideal did take x-rays of the side after she did the cleaning but didn't review them to make sure she got everything. So my pain and suffering was all for nothing and now have to go through it again. This is Very Bad business. Don't Trust them! I wish there was 5 minus stars on the rating. Crooks! read more

Great dentist!!!!!!!!! Clean office and friendly staff. I heard an advertisement on the radio for free laser whitening so I called and scheduled my appointment. I was very skeptical at first.
