Nice to know the supervisor is so loyal to her employees at the expense of their patients time and expense.

After I expressed my frustration with finding a dentist who will do a great job, but not over-treat, Dr. Williamson was recommended to me by two friends who are both retired dentists, one of whom served the presidential fleet including the pilots and crews of Air Force One in the 89th airlift wing during the Johnson and Bush administrations. My first visit went great. I told my wife the the staff were welcoming and some attend a church like our own. The office has invested heavily in technology, and exudes a warm and friendly atmosphere. Kelly did a fantastic job doing my x-rays, pictures and initial health history. I have set up our entire family with their office. They are out-of-network, so my insurance will not pay as much for many procedures, but for the most common preventative care, it still covers 80 to 100% of the cost. In the end, I think our costs are going to be about the same, without the shenanigans of the insurance company's approval. I'm not the cheapest in my own industry, preferring to provide greater value, and my impression is that Dr. Williamson's office is the same.

While the care was good they neglected to inform me that they were out of network with our…read moreinsurance. They accepted our insurance but we were not covered as well as if we had gone to an in network care provider. They informed me that if would cost more as I was in the chair getting my teeth cleaned as well as my FOUR children were with various hygienists doing the same. We only got routine cleanings, four kids with fluoride, and two sealants in my kids for the low cost of over $1,500.00. Seriously expensive! Then to top it off their estimates were way off base and we ended up owing them almost $800. They also sent me and my daughter home with quotes of us each having four cavities needing to be filled. At the tune of nearly $300 a piece. Needless to say we immediately switched to an in network provider and I am still paying Dr. Williamson's office what I owe them. My daughter and I went and had our cavities filled elsewhere. We each only had two! And his charge was $160 per cavity and that included the extra cost of laughing gas so we could be more relaxed. He even felt bad when I had explained to him what happened with our previous dentist and the amount of money we owed that he took our X-rays for free before filling our cavities. I don't appreciate being price gouged and left in the dark about our insurance not being in network. While the staff is nice, so is the staff at every other office I have ever been to. For reference we also moved from the Vail Valley in Colorado (a very expensive place to live) and I never sent this much on our dental care there. I thought people should know what they are getting into. The cost is so high. If you enjoy throwing money away on dental care that would cost less anywhere else for the same treatments then go ahead: )

From living in four states over five years, and having a change of insurers in between a few times, it means we've probably seen about 10 different dentists and a multitude of hygienists between my husband and I. Our experience for our first visit at GF Dental was hands-down the best experience we've had so far. The office was organized, well-staffed, clean as a whistle, and everyone was so warm and welcoming. The process to make an appointment was easy and I love that you can fill out all of your forms online. I absolutely hate spending 20 minutes filling out forms and needing to arrive early before my appointment, so this is a huge plus. Their covid-prevention measures were also impressive. They have a system where they retrieve you from your car at your appointment time and then take your temperature, blood pressure, and other vitals upon arrival. They took tons of extra precautions during the appointment to sanitize everything and keep you and their staff safe. My husband joked before we arrived "this is going to be a weird dentist visit since we're wearing masks..." but of course they had all of the bases covered of course, so it was otherwise a "normal" visit to the dentist. Dr. Loehrlein spent her few minutes with each of us actually talking to us in depth about our dental health and also made an effort at small-talk with each of us. I know dentists are super busy when they're making their rounds and it was a full load of patients in the office from what I could tell, so the fact she even made an effort to chat about something other than teeth really speaks volumes about her as a professional and someone who is clearly invested and interested in her patients. Our dental hygienist Lisa was also FABULOUS - she was SO friendly and reassuring throughout the cleaning and pre-exam process. Neither of us are particularly squeamish nor fearful of dental work; however, in this staff's hands, I think even the most dentist-averse patients would feel totally at ease and calm. As mentioned, this is our latest choice of dentists in our new home in Rowlett, but am glad we made the choice of selecting this practice and looking forward to many good years being patients here.
