I hired Daryl to stain & seal my back patio before having a screen porch/sunroom updated. He was willing to work with my limited schedule & offered a variety of designs. He kept in good contact & communicated with me through the ups & downs of the weather since my slab is uncovered & summer in Florida means sporadic thunderstorms. I'm happy with the how the design came out. He offers a variety of options for indoor or outdoor concrete. I want to hire him again later to cover our garage floor. read more

I am a single woman and hired Daryl to acid stain my floors when I bought my home, which he said he knew how to do. He told me he did the floors at Seagrass and I could go look at what kind of job he did, which I did. My floors looked nothing like what he did at the restaurant. He basically just stained my concrete floors one color brown, there was no swirling or design. When he said he was finished (but it turned out he wasn't) he told me I could not go in my house for 3 days because of the smell. After three days I moved into the house (along with all of my furniture). It was the following week when I talked to him and told him how disappointed I was with the way the floors looked and that they had no shine, as they were supposed to, that he told me that he left a 5 gallon bucket of the sealer in my shed for me to apply the shiny overcoat because they only put one light coat on and did not have time to reapply it. Sure wish he had told me that before I moved my furniture in. He also offered to "remove" the shed from my yard if I didn't want it. Seriously???? Like he thought I was stupid enough to give him my shed just because I am a women. It is a perfectly good wooden shed, with electricity and a work bench. Hopefully he does not do everyone like he did me, but I would never recommend him to anyone. read more

We had used Ideal Concrete Design Group previously in May of 2011 and were happy with the job. Darrell Beall, the owner of Ideal Concrete Design Group, suggested that we would need to reseal again in a few years to keep the seal looking new. Six years later, in May of 2017, we called Darrell Beall and mentioned per his previous advice it was time to apply a fresh coat of driveway sealer. He sent a young man out who pressure washed our driveway, took a break, then applied a watery sealer that ran down the driveway. The original coat was a thick coat that was roped off for two days so no one would drive onto the driveway. For this reseal, we were told we could drive on the driveway the same day after two hours. After five months, the second reseal is looking much worse than the previous six years on the first seal. The reseal has turned white and blotchy and is lifting. I called and left several messages on Darell Beall's phone at 813-727-5920 but have yet to hear back from anyone at Ideal Concrete Design Group. The company has changed it's name again because of poor reviews under first name. They are now named Ideal Concrete and Restoration. We paid $700 for the reseal but did not receive quality work this time. We see that there poor reviews at Better Business Bureau under both names used by this company. read more

Almost 4 1/2 years ago I hired Darrell Beall to redo my lanai deck. He taped off the design I selected and did a beautiful job. He applied the stain and it was uneven and the color was not what the chart showed. He asked me to pick another finish. After that was done the lanai looked like a basement floor because the taped off "grout" lines were now painted the same color as the diamonds. He had to come back several times to make weep holes so that the water did not pool near the edge of the cage where there were some depressions. In doing so, the drill bit marred the surface but I did not see that until later when I noticed cracks in all the areas the sun hit. He filled in the expansion joints and they are cracking apart. They are supposed to be 1/4" seams. Big chunks are cracking out near where he installed a new drain. The paint is chipping off in other places. When he came back to drill holes I asked him to fix some areas. He said, "Didn't I leave you paint?" At that time I said, "Paint; I thought it was an epoxy finish." He said, "No, paint." I believe that the coat of paint and the original stain were not compatible. I tried reaching him by mail and phone and have heard nothing. By the way, his workman, I believe named Scott, quit in the middle of my job. When I asked Darrell if he would use me as a recommendation, he did not answer. I have saved all the chipped out pieces and if I can get a current and accurate business status I'm going to sue him in Small Claims Court, something I should have done two years ago. read more

Extremely dissapointed. The finished product on my lanai is totally inferior to what was promised. The stain used was not solid (which it was suppose to be) and started shadowing every imperfection and former cracks. Prior cracks were not sealed properly and came back immediately after the job was done. Paid good money for this job and was left with something totally undesirable and to make matters worse this contractor (Darrell) will not stand by his work and will not take any responsibility for it. He also totally misrepresented himself and throughout the process I learned that I could not trust what he said. I am now going to have to pay to get this job fixed and my husband and I are senior citizens and do not have that kind of money for do overs. Had I waited 30 days before I paid him I could have had leverage to get things done righ but he badgered me so much for payment as soon as it was finished that I relented. It is usually a bad sign when a contractor corners you for his money that quickly. When I tried to get him to back up his work he said it was not his fault. If not his, whose fault was it? read more
